Jetty Park Pier
2023 Jun 19
Very clean and easy access. Fishing spots along the water edge and the pier, which is not long compared with other area fishing piers. There is a bait and tackle shop right inside the park. Attached with the shop a cafe serving simple meals is there too. I caught an okay size snapper, other than that the bite was not strong at least when I were there. One star is deducted for the 15$ parking fee. Kinda pricey!
This fishing pier is clean and well maintained and above all, catch good fish, if you are lucky. Lots of whitings, spots and other species occasionally. But be careful of rays, as they are a pain to release them if your rig can hold on. Only problem is it closes at sun down, normally around 8:30pm. when fish starts to bite...what a bomber!
Pier is small, could get crowded, especially over the weekends. Better chance to catch catfish or bigger fish is to cast at least 40 yards toward the north side of the pier. Decent size perch can be caught right under the pier sometimes. Razor clam and bloodworm are always good bait. BTW, some some strange reason, sun shades/umbrellas are not allowed on the pier.
