There have certainly been better displays in the past, but this is really fun for people who love vintage Christmas charm. Glad to attend this year, too.
I visited the museum to attend an opening by artist Patricia Bellen-Gillan tonight. It's a lovely welcoming space, and the exhibit was truly inspiring. I'm really happy for the opportunities this museum offers Youngstown!
This is a cool place to learn about the steel industry in the Youngstown, Ohio area. There are some great maps, photos, stories, and railroad displays. Some of the stories are heartbreaking for lots of reasons, but this small museum helps explain why people are the way they are here. The backbreaking and dangerous work that most local residents' fathers or grandfathers did during the steel industry zenith explains a lot about Youngstown's culture of hard work, handiwork, and humility. This is a good one-hour history lesson for Youngstown enthusiasts.
