I went with my kids and they enjoyed the exhibition, I recommend !
Keti Koti took place in the Oosterpark in Amsterdam today 01/07 in the afternoon, the annual official commemoration and celebration of the abolition of Dutch transatlantic slavery in Suriname and the Caribbean. Among others, Mayor of Amsterdam Femke Halsema and Minister Ingrid van Engelshoven (Education, Culture and Science) gave speeches, as did Linda Nooitmeer, chair of the National Institute for Dutch Slavery History and Legacy (NiNsee). Because of the corona measures, no festival took place around the commemoration this year, and there was only room for a limited number of people present. I have been there after that the official ceremony was finished. It was amazing to see how the photojournalists were creating the visuals for the news item!
