Great place to visit. It was not crowded at all, but really close to Vienna. The castle is unique and offers a very interesting museum collection.
The small park on the island is also very nice and full of wildlife. Of course, the most unique place is the underwater station. Kinds enjoy passing through the hanging bridge.
An important tip - bring along mosquitto & tricks repellent. On a hot day - sunscreen and water. There is no air conditioning in the castle and the museum so it can get really hot also inside. There is only a vending machine where you can get water or something else to drink.

This is a beautiful building in a nice Park. If you have been to the main Sisi landmarks, the inside exhibition will not impress you too much. The thing that will shock you even after many years in vienna is the typical rudeness of all staff - from the ticket sales to the inside security...
My two year old loved it and refused to get off at the end. As a grown up I have to admit I also enjoyed it. There are special wider seats for families with a stroller, or people with a wheelchair.
Tip: better sit somewhere on the rear end, it will smell less, as the engine obviously runs on diesel.
