Impressive, elegant, well presented and dignified war memorial, bounded by railings and overlooking the Cathedral.
The Monastery of Defiance.
Iconic Grade 1 listed building, designed by Vincent Harris in 1915, on an unspecified number of floors, colloquially known as Main Building, or MB. The King Henry 8 Wine cellars are underground near the North entrance, but you'll need a private official invitation to get to see them so don't hold your breath. Five rooms from various Georgian Houses (Pembroke, Cromwell and Cadogan) were dismantled and incorporated into the building as conference rooms when the houses were demolished, and are now used as historic meeting rooms.
Walk around, count the windows, look for the landing steps that used to lead onto the Thames on the embankment side..... whatever.
