What a wonderful small and eclectic restaurant, with a very Mediterranean decor and vibe that's in a convenient location near the cable car terminus on Polk Street. Everything we ordered was amazing, with generous portions, quality ingredients, friendly staff and oh, so flavorful!!
Our favorite was the Chicken Bastilla (sometimes called pigeon pie), a light, crispy fluffy pastry shell filled with savory spiced chicken and stuffings, and garnished with a light dusting of powdered sugar for a truly unique blend of flavors. Highly recommended!
Also, make sure to try the traditional Moroccan mint tea, we were glad we did.

We had a wonderful time hiking the Independence Trail East, which is an easy 4.3 mile out and back trail. There are several old wooden bridges, with the one near the end that crosses the South Yuba River that is well worth seeing! Shortly after that, it connects to a more rugged trail leading down to some swimming holes along the river.
