Il Fornaio Carmel

Best prices for this caliber of restaurant in town (that we found). The food was top notch, atmosphere was pristine and the views were great. Would absolutely come back here again.
The historic Santa Barbara tea Gardens used to be an oasis with pools, running aqueducts and lush greenery. Since its abandonment in the mid 20th century the site has turned to ruins that have served as a playground for local skaters and youths. If you can get onto the property and not get caught it is a great place to roam around.
The Arches

The Arches of Santa Barbara can be seen from most places in the city. They blend in well enough with the backdrop of the mountains to not be overtly noticeable, but everyone in town knows what they are. Formerly the Santa Barbara Tea Gardens back in the early to mid 20th century they have since been abandoned and turned into private property that has sat waiting for use. In the meantime the landmark has become a challenge for youths to make it to the top without getting the cops called on them. For those that succeed there is great reward, and likely equal discomfort for those that get caught.
This is likely the most underrated Holocaust memorial out there. It is extravagant and gorgeous yet is haunting as it's a metaphorical glimpse hinting to what 6 million lost lives could have amounted to.
Dante is my favorite artist in the city, so I'm biased, but his is quite epic.
