Buena Vista Overlook offers a stunning view off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. For so many years, I wanted to tour the entire Blue Ridge Parkway on my motorcycle, and boy! This overlook did not dissapoint. I highly recommend stopping at this gem alongside the road.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is the best motorcycle touring highway in the United States, in my opinion. It is the most challenging for sure (speed limit is 45 MPH). It doesn't have the twists and turns of the Tail of the Dragon or Twisted Sisters in Texas, nor the elevation of Mount Rainier, Glacier National Park, or Beartooth Pass. But it offers something that none of those rides can offer - 469 miles of absolutely breathtaking overlooks where you can see for miles and miles. Hands down it is the best ride in the United States for touring, relaxing, and taking in the most beautiful scenery in the country.
Great spot to see a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The trees were somewhat grown up at this particular overlook, but you could still get a great view of the mountains and color changes. Worth the stop for sure. We hit a tunnel before stopping here.
This is a great view of the Wash Creek Valley. You are high enough in elevation to get a good view of the scenery for many miles. I thought it was particularly nice, as is all of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
