Ambassador Auditorium
2024 Feb 04
Beautiful Auditorium in Pasadena with good acoustics and surrounded by well kept gardens. My few observations are: first, parking is very limited so you need to park at the adjacent Wells Fargo building which can be challenging getting in and out; and secondly, the seats are not designed for tall people.
Nevertheless, I’ll be happy to come back and watch more shows because this really is a good venue and close to good restaurants.
Worth visiting!!!
The museum is in the heart of Little Tokyo, accessible and there are plenty of parking places around. The collection centers on the Japanese American struggles during the war and how the survivors made it a point to educate the younger generations never to forget and ultimately seek justice which they rightfully deserved and this idea applies to all of humanity.
The museum offers free entrance of certain Thursdays so check them out. Don’t forget to enjoy the many Japanese restaurants around. For those taking the metro, a stop was opened right next to the museum.
Quaint Museum in the heart of Pasadena!!!
Very accessible and they have a good sized parking lot north of the building and the entrance is on Los Robles.
Now to the exhibits; although limited, they are beautifully curated. Think about a smaller version of the big museums although they’re featuring only the “bigger” countries in Asia. Currently, there is a special exhibit about “Dismantling Orientalism” which about presenting the Orient not from the stereotypical eyes of the West which I believe presents a fresher and more accurate take on the subject. I’d like to affirm and thank Grace Nicholson for her vision in making this place available to all. Plan to spend an hour before hitting the dining spots in the area. I also recommend spending a few minutes in their garden and appreciate the architecture.
Laguna Art Museum

Hidden Gem !!!
While most people visit Laguna for the beach and good food, one must realize that Laguna is also an artist haven.
This is a small three level museum with a carefully curated collection that features Laguna’s art vibe. The main floor features permanent collection, the upper level currently features black and white photographs and the lower level pays tribute to the Pageant of the Masters.
Plan to spend 30 - 45 minutes.
I should thank the Docent, Mr. Robert Powers who was awesome in providing insights about the exhibits.
