This area, the so-called Riverdale Waterfront Promenade, is accessed via the Riverdale Metro-North train station. You have to cross through the station and find the gate at the end of the platform that is closest to the Hudson River. Once on the promenade, there are 3-4 access points built for viewing the Hudson River and the New Jersey cliffs. There are some benches and a railing to keep you from falling into the river itself. Once there, one should note there are not a lot of comfortable spaces. The area is currently (Summer 2020) overgrown with weeds. There are also no easy paths to the water, as it is all rocks and debris. I would rate this area dangerous for most people. A lot of people, however, fish here. People also do other things that are probably not always legal. It is exciting in some respects because of its proximity to the train tracks and the water, but be careful with your footing. There are lots of big rocks and gaps to fall into and hurt yourself. Enter at your own risk.
Who does not like bridges, moving water, boats, trains, and open space in New York City? In the fall looks like no one visits. Had the park to myself. Comfortable place, hard to get to if you are not familiar.
Love this place, like a library, but of Adirondack themed antiques. The store features tons of ancient fishing gear, and I mean everything, reels, rods, lures, etc. Also, there are maps, books, posters, highlighting among other things, the special spot in the Americas of the Adirondacks and the nature and culture of the region. This place even sells the best t-shirts, though they are brand new, in Bolton Landing. Everything else in Bolton is kind of lame AF. They also had some vintage Woolrich flannels hanging up throughout the store. They were selling for only $45 maybe? Anyways, best store in Bolton for sure. 👍x5
