RESTAURANT HARYANA

Quite centrally located the place stands out with its unique name, Haryana, for anyone familiar with India this is the name of a northern state.

What is unique though is that generally people use the familiar moniker "Punjab" or something a bit more north Indian rather than the less famous cousin, Haryana, so yes this caught my eye and from then on it was a lets definitely try.

We were quite early by dinner standards, so much that the server had to actually check his watch before confirming our seating. The restaurant has a nice quiet subtle ambience to it, nothing in the decor indicates noise or discord, even the lighting is soothing. So once you are seated you are at ease.

The food has a multitude of options and has been adapted (spice level) to the french palette, rightly so!

There are adequate vegetarian and non vegetarian options, including the famous veg thali, an assortment of vegetarian dishes served with rice at the restaurant (but in general it comes with bread and rice options). Its an excellent option to try multiple vegetarian sides, you should additionally order naan and its a wholesome meal.

I ordered the vegetarian biryani and was satisfied with it, for my Indian palette I had to request for salt and pepper but it wasnt the food, it was me!

Definitely worth it, the servers speak french and can guide you easily on what to order, I would love to revisit.
Himalayan Supermarket

A nice little grocery store with all that makes up a South Asian grocery weekly shopping list.

The store is located on the main street a few doors from the Aldi store (the aldi store as a reference point is required as they do have a brightly lit sign jutting out and easily visible), unfortunately the store sign is not entirely visible due to a retractable awning that covers the sign board (so literally there is nothing that you can see directly advertising the store).

Once you have found the store you are in for an amazing experience, you will find all the brands and things that would typically find in an Indian supermarket back home!

From different types of oils, daals, rice varieites (only a couple), to frozen parathas, Maggi, Wai-Wai! - you name it they have it.

The store does feel a bit disorderly and chaotic, but thats just the look and feel, in the small space they have they stock it up very well, for me its a weekly visit that suffices for all the groceries i need.

Thanks to the proprietors, a couple of Nepalis, who do a great job of running the store!
Porte de Clichy

Not too far and not too near from the city centre, excellent connectivity by bus, metro, the community cycle initiative & taxi. If you like walking then you can actually find quite a few places to roam around (like Moulin Rouge and a couple of similar shops). The park (located near the elevated train station) is adequate for a jog, walk or just to laze around. A decent number of budget hotels, a few upcoming office projects, a few nice bakeries, lots of Turkish fast food joints makes Porte de Clichy a nice little hub for a stopover with a purpose, minus that purpose its hard to pin down a reason to visit this place.
