Went to Saffron on Valentine’s Day and had a good time. The food was pretty good, although the Alecha Wot had a lots of bones, which we didnt expect. I’m sure it’s authentic but if you don’t like bones in your food, you are not going to like it.
Additionally, the amount of rice that comes with the main dishes isn’t enough. I like more rice with my main course.
The dessert menu has several options, most being gluten free, but it turned out they only had 2 options available. We were kind of disappointed with the limited dessert options and ordered the rice pudding (gluten free). It was pretty good and not too sweet, so probably healthier than most processed desserts.
The service was a bit slow and many tables waited for a good deal of time to even get the menus. Maybe it was due to Valentine’s Day. It was pretty packed on that day.
Overall, we had a great time and the servers were very welcoming and friendly. My picky teen loved vegetarian appetisers and enjoyed his noodle dish.

Gorgeous park, especially now that it’s fall. Very clean, with a playground in the shade and shelters. Perfect for families. It’s dog-friendly!
It’s very obvious that locals love this park - there were lots of people there on a warm, fall day. We were passing by on our way to NC and stopped there to walk out dog. I was pleasantly surprised by how cute the park is.
Entrance fee is $6 per adult and $3.5 per child.

It’s our “must-go” destination whenever we are in Charleston. It can be a bit crowded at times, especially in the last pavilion that has the view of the ocean, but there is plenty of space to spread out.
I love that it’s dog-friendly! Most of the time we’ve visited, we were able to see a dolphin or two. We were told by the locals that the best time to see the dolphins is in the morning when the crab boats are leaving, or better yet - when the boats are returning.
There is plenty of restaurants to dine in by the creek/marina. There is also a public bathroom at the entrance to the boardwalk. The views from the boardwalk are gorgeous!
