I have been to Killington numerous times over the years; from being a competitor at the J2 Championship in the early 1990s to PSIA exams and events as recently as last weekend; and it always delivers.

This past Sunday was the perfect example; rain and heat on Saturday, that locked up overnight into Sunday; and their mountain Ops teams were able to work miracles for a great surface on Sunday. They had the guests' best interests in mind roping off some sections where a fall would have resulted in an uncontrolled slide.

The food & beverage is expensive, but of high quality for a ski area. I can attest to the salad bar & beef chili being fit for human consumption.

This most recent trip was my first staying at the Grand, for on-site lodging; and it was worth the extra money for the convenience of not having to drive. But I am older than I once was, and if your looking for the full night life experience, and your skiing on your own timeline, then you won't be missing much if you shop for a lower cost room down the street. But, if you've got a group of kids, or are there for an event, pony up the extra cash for the convenience, and save yourself the headache of having to do the parking lot rodeo with kids in tow.

There is ample terrain to test the best skiers out there and lots of room for learners to explore. I love it on the down days, but I don't want to be around that many people on a holiday or busy weekend.
