My elderly mother was sent to this ER via ambulance from her PCP for stomach pains, nausea, vomiting and dehydration. They checked her in, started an IV line (but no fluids), did a blood draw, X-ray and then left her in the waiting room in a wheel chair for 8 hours. At the 6 hour mark we were told there was 1 person in front of her. At the 7 hour mark we were told there were two people in front of her. By the 8 hour mark my mother was begging and crying to leave even though she was in pain. I took her up to the front desk to get the IV line removed, figuring we’d go to a better hospital. But once we said we were leaving the nurse magically said she’s get a doctor to talk to us. Within 20 minutes she had a room in the ER and about two hours after that they admitted her for three days. She was so sick they had to admit her for three days but they just left her out in the waiting room until we tried to leave? Something is wrong with this hospital. The doctors and nurses once you get back into the ER area are so great, but they need to address their waiting and triage area, it’s inhumane.
I even checked the CHATS system after 4 hours and they weren’t on an alert then. At the 6 hour mark they went yellow.
From all the other reviews here basically saying the same thing I don’t think the hospital can honestly say they aren’t aware of the problem. And from their canned responses to the reviews I’d say they clearly don’t care. You are a hospital, do better.
