This adorable neighborhood sushi restaurant has the capacity to meet all your sushi needs at an affordable price. Almost immediately, it was impossible to ignore the lovely seating arrangement. One can easily sit at the bar, by a window, or in the back to limit disruption. The mood in the room was always calm; I especially appreciated the serenity. Now for the fish, the salmon chirashi bowl is filled to the brim with salmon and was a delight to marvel at. Secondly, the sake nigiri platter is worth the advertised $39. The plate ranged from eel, salmon, tuna, egg, scallop, yellowtail, and other delectable treats. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, but pay it no mind because you're bound to have an excellent meal! Oh, and the service was very kind and prompt.
Only come here to sit on the patio… even then there are better bars. Especially ones without hazard code holes on the ground.
My party attempted to order a Pacifico and a frozen strawberry daiquiri at 5pm to be told they didn’t have their advertised Pacifico and daiquiri wouldn’t be ready for another 20. A captains tea and the on draft margarita were ordered instead (I’d recommend skipping the margarita for well liquor instead due to a v syrupy margarita).
Upon going to the patio multiple tables were sticky and gangster rap was being played. As the only POC in a bar of white people… it was a strange music choice.
If you’re going to drop $12-$14 on a drink at a patio, you can find somewhere better. Oh, and there’s no happy hour. :/

Despite my order being take-out, I KNOW the in-person experience would only enhance the food, but this isn't meant to take anything away from their savory dishes. I had the butter masala at the second-to-highest heat level and was highly disappointed that it almost tasted savory. The heat was sorely missing. The medium-hot Dal Maharani had an excellent flavor but also lacked a semblance of spiciness. The outdoor patio is gorgeous, and the servers were kind enough to supply me with complementary naan. I will return, but it needs to be honored when heat is requested. Oh, and the nice, had a fluffy texture to it that was a joy to consume.
Bugis is an unassuming Korean spot with an incredible lunch special of rice, pickled radish, and half a marinated egg atop a limited selection of entrees. Service is prompt and kind, but the food quality is unmatched. I had the spicy chicken(which is spicy- so thank you), which is the perfect combination of tang and heat. All the flavors meshed wonderfully. The interior is spacious, with plenty of seats for parties larger than four. I cannot wait to return to try their dak-kalbi for two!
I've been walking past this place for months, but had yet to enter. The food and service was outstanding. :) The food could use a little more spice, but I'll ask for in the future. I ordered the Japanese curry with chicken katsu which was an excellent paring. There is easily enough food for two meals if you so wanted. I was gluttonous and went all in. They have indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of parking. I will be returning.
