In my life, most places got better AFTER I left (and NOT [only?] due to my departure😜!): elementary school, new gym; high school, computer labs; university 1) desktop publishing at the Peak, collectively run student paper I was Sports & Copy Editor at plus handled delivery - of a paper that we literally cut with exacto knives and pasted with this wax that we had a special rolling machine to apply to the galleys which you then had to proofread and put in any corrections and fix them manually as well 2)CJIV - The Jive! Now, sadly, been assigned CKSF, nevertheless did a show, Scott & Mike's Tuner, for 4 years - FM broadcast license & new, more digital-age equipment; Vancouver (well, not really considering that I found Victoria! Reminds me a lot of how Vancouver USED to be!!): SKY TRAIN, Canada LINE WHISTLER HIGHWAY, Stanley Park-SFU... ONE BUS!! TO BRIDGE MY Granted, it was rather silly to live in Kitsalino AND go to SFU but it WAS in Burnaby, so I guess I just saw it out. It struck some friends and I that had gone to elementary high school and finally SFU together, that we could have gone ANYWHERE to school. Like what... what were we thinking!? I mean, Concordia, McGill, York, Carlton, Dalhousie, U of NB. You know, Saskatoon, UofS, UofA... Ultimately, it came down to the weather! Dan had ice storms in Quebec that year and it looks so brutal that I couldn't imagine living through a winter anywhere but the west coast 😎👍❤️🔥. Point is even Burnaby got better after I left!! And here's proof- where was this brewery when I needed it!?!?
Great selection, friendly staff... 10pm closing time the only (minor) drawback.
Pickle ball, basketball, playground... nice little neighbourhood park!
