Best African restaurants in United Arab Emirates

Wow this restaurant is a perfect spot to have the Burj Khalifa in the background and watch the Fountain Show in the evening. Such a great vibe for a romantic date as well as with friends. The food is out of this 🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎. Its absolutely spectacular!!

My family and I had a great time at Tribes.

The food was delicious. We had - and I would recommend - the beef carpaccio and buffalo chicken chops for starters, mixed grill braai for the main dish, and mojito.

We sat outdoors, so we could catch the fountain show. From where we were, our view was unobstructed, and we were able to enjoy the show over dinner. You will want to get there early (before 6pm) to get seats!

Finally, and not least, service was impeccable. Please look out for Wassila and Henry. They looked after my family, and I am certain they will take care of you, too. Joseph (the manager) is blessed with a great crew.

Walking into Tribes feels like stepping into a modern interpretation of an African restaurant. It strikes a balance between authenticity and modernity. Lovely place to celebrate a milestone!! Amazing view!! The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the cuisine they serve. Delicious food! Little on the pricey side but I get it because of the view and everything.. portion wise i think its less compared to other restaurants for the price they are charging.. but thats for the view and the location! The ambiance, exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and dedication to showcasing African culture make it a standout dining experience. Overall we had a wonderful time and would love to go back to try their other dishes..

Amazing food, amazing view on the terrace, amazing people, especially the young man John who has been our waiter that day (Friday, 6pm). He was so friendly and helpful, even suggested to take a picture of us, which was really nice of him. Highly recommend Tribe restaurant and John

A little dark & dreary for my liking, but I get the African Vibe they were going for. ALso Dubai was so hot so I understand why the balcony is closed off. Good food as always.

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday dinner at this fantastic restaurant, Tribes , and it truly exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was elevated by the delightful African music that played throughout the evening, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

The highlight of the evening, of course, was the food. Every dish we ordered was a culinary masterpiece. The flavors were rich and authentic, and it was evident that the chefs had put a lot of care and attention into crafting each dish. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert, everything was simply delicious.

Moreover, the location within Dubai Mall adds to the charm of this place. It's not just a restaurant; it's an experience. You get to enjoy a world-class meal while being in the heart of one of Dubai's iconic shopping destinations.

Mechot is by far the best Ethiopian/African cuisine in Dubai with amazing Ethiopian hospitality and surprisingly affordable prices for a five star service. Authentic Ethiopian & African cuisine with a menu selection comprising of breakfast, lunch and dinner options; 24 hours!
I truly love Mechot.

This is probably the best steak place in Dubai with a lot of variety from different countries and cuts. With that said, I still ended up with their signature ribs and they were amazing!

I’m not a fan of restaurants in malls but SFH were out and about so why not. 3.5 stars……

The food is good. Fresh, very tasty and good portion sizes.

The service was excellent but there was no real atmosphere, but what do I expect in a mall??

Not the cheapest place for a lunch but again I think in line with the quality.

I wouldn’t rush back but not because I didn’t enjoy it, my plate was spotless after I had finished. If you do want good food, in comfortable surroundings then go for it.

Started with passion mojito follwed Tasting platter was amazing ..southafrican burger + kiddos steak and ending chocolava….

The best view for the Dubai Fountain Light Show. From the restaurant’s terrace you can get a really good view of the show, while you dine or drink something. We tried the rib eye with peach iced tea, and it was amazing.

The food was SO SO good! Everyone enjoyed their meals. I'll definitely be back.
You can watch the fountain show from the balcony too. A lovely evening.

Really nice place and prices are very fair.
The chicken burger was so delicious and the sauce a dream. Fries perfect cross and nice. The wagyu burger was definitely just perfect - the best ever tried from a burger lover :).
The service was really nice as well. The mocktails as well very fresh and good.

Amazing food, amazing shisha, best Ethiopian food and best place to be at any hour of the day.

12/2/22 around 8:30pm i ordered boerewors with pap and spicey chakalaka via Talabat. What came was not good. The boerewors was not there, they just rolled some mince with chilly and fried it and called that boerewors and it was cold with no salt , the pap was not fresh and isn't pap at all. Instead of chakalaka they made biryani rice only without chicken or mutton. If it is expensive or hard to put together put it down from your menu, 0/10 from a dissapointed me. I have uploaded what i got for 90AED😡.

Absolutely It was very good dinner. Casual Mechot Restaurant Dubai. The food was creative and taste good but they are using same sauce in different dishes that makes taste similar each dishes. Mechot Restaurant Dubai was very nice. I would come back again

I came to mechot today for lunch, I ordered vehicles rice (35 AED) they charged me 50 AED from my card. No proper apologize, return me 10 AED rather than 15 AED.
I asked to take the rest of the food as a take away, and to put the two slice of bread in the take away bag. I reached house and I didn’t find the two slice of bread. Really I am too upset from their treatment.

If you into different types of cuisine then Ethiopian Habesha restaurant Mechot would be great place to try it, located in the old part of Dubai Al Baraha district , close to Al Murar , its building just between to other residential building and has two or three floors , the restaurant has affordable prices and a lot of different food options of Ethiopian cuisine , although the place operates twenty four seven .

Real ethiopian place, very friendly staff and delicious food. Great for african food lovers, for vegans/vegetarians and for anyone willing to try new things. Ethiopian coffee is heaven and they have shisha on the third floor. Totally casual, do not expect something fancy, but an amazing experience! Hands down top Ethiopian restaurant in UAE
