Super interesting. We had an amazing guided tour in English and learnt a lot
A non English speaking guide escorted us through the 4 rooms we were allowed to see (in the order dictated by her) and stopped us from going into the wood crafts room as they were just starting some work in there.
If they knew this in advance she should have taken us to that room first. Before the work started.
Exhibits were pretty but labelled Silver Plate, Copper Tray etc.
I could work that out for myself. Needs more meaningful captions.

Really nice museum with lot of beautiful Armemian artisan handicraft
Beautiful complex with many sculptures and nice views! It has an escalator inside so that you don't have to walk up and it is free and openly accessible to the public! A really nice place and a must visit if you are in Yerevan. I do recommend it!
Besides the landmark facade of the Art Centre, the exhibits inside were definitely worth a visit to appreciate. The art pieces were avant garde and fascinating. In addition, the panoramic view of the surrounding area on the top level was terrific. There was no entry fee!

History Museum of Armenia showcases a wide range of rooms, periods and interests. The highlight for us was the Aïvasovsky rooms!
Breathtaking views are only one of the many offerings this unique location has. There’s also the playful and unique art pieces in the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. The ascent to the top rewards you with the beautiful vistas of Yerevan. It’s not a difficult climb by any means but it’s also a nice way to stretch your legs. The Soviet architecture and fountains provide a feast for the eyes. I don’t think a visit to Yerevan is complete without a visit here, but that comes from someone who’s only been there once. But if and when I return to this lovely city, I will definitely make a visit to the Cascade.

This is a must-see in Yerevan. The museum is small, but well organized. The fortress was the highlight. Although a bit neglected, it was still amazing to walk around the ruins and enjoy the awesome views of Yerevan and mount Ararat.
Matenadaran is one of the must-see museums in Yerevan. The historical books and manuscripts are truly breathtaking. The displays are laid out perfectly for everyone to follow and understand. Getting a tour guide is always worth every penny; however, I highly recommend to take the time and read the descriptions as they are very informative.
I was one person so I imagine this is why the let me in without a booking. I get the feeling that bookings are required and you must go through as part of a guided tour.

So nice to see whole city of Yerevan from the top. It is in the middle of the city, restaurants, bars are nearby and very good too. Must visit place of Armenia.

Yervand Khochar's museum is very informative and beautiful.
A neglected but really cool museum in a splendid Soviet building decorated with gorgeous frescoes, it's a real pity that this museum doesn't seem to have gotten any love or budget for decades. The collection is somewhat small but extremely well captioned in English, giving you a good insight into life in Urartu, and has some interesting objects.
The possibility to actually hike up the hill and see the ruins of the fortress makes it even better, but the ruins are defiled by graffiti and the explanatory signs sun-bleached.
There is potential here, but it's currently wasted. This museum reminds me of the fantastic "Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King" in Guangzhou, China, and I can only hope that in the future they can get the budget and expertise to learn from that museum and restore and elevate the Erebuni museum to the world-class potential it could have had.

The tour was very informative and the place was very modern. Staff are really friendly and they entertain questions during the tour especially on the brandy tasting. The tasting was a good experience too it also comes with a bottle of water and chocolate that really compliments the taste of the brandy. We enjoyed everything and we highly recommend to add the tour into your next Yerevan itinerary!
Everything was good the staff was friendly but this room staff on floor 4 next to this picture attached was literally waving me bye that it seems like I came twice she wanted to say I am not welcomed here to see pretty unpleasant, I should have taken photo of her but I don’t want her to be on public platform but I hope management will notice it, thank you

With a world-class collection of awe-inspiring works in an equally awesome building, this is certainly a must-see in Yerevan. The manuscripts are presented without much context however, so the 5000 dram guided tour is worthwhile if you can afford it. Had the collection only been better presented, this could have been a museum of global renown.
Though the displays could need much more context, the items here are very impressive and definitely worth seeing if you like folk art.
Detailed tour with great guide who gives you insights into cognac production. It’s well-organized, educational and entertaining. Reasonable price (4500 AMD), which includes tasting of 3 and 7 year-old cognacs. Recommend taking a 10 am tour to avoid crowds.
Beautiful art awaits you inside! It is easy to move around and enjoy art pieces. You'll have an artistic journey between floors.
This is one of the main thing you should visit. Here you can taste the city and the country, feel it's warm and relax. In the museum you can take an excursion and there is a small shop here.
Not only can you see the city of Yerevan from above, but you can also see Mount Ararat in the distance on a clear day.

Love Cafesjian Center for the Arts. They host fantastic events, have a wonderful museum store with beautiful artwork, have well-known artists’ works presented to the public and have converted Cascade Complex to a museum in the open air. Their exhibition halls and music hall are stunning and a must see. I was at their music hall earlier for Vardan Ovsepian’s concert and absolutely loved it. The background of the stage is made of glass and opens a gorgeous view of the city.
The most popular place in Armenia. there’s a lot foreigners travelling at Summer time. A lot policemen walking around here. I have been here for twice. The people very friendly.

Great museum and outstanding guidance of exposition and artist's life and creations.
One of the main highlights of Yerevan combining soviet architecture and modern art. The structure consists of a long staircase that was intended to connect the center of the city to the hill of the victory park to the north but was never completed. There is an indoor escalator inside and several pieces of art all across the structure and in the park at the lower end. The area is also surrounded by restaurants and cafes and is highly recommended for anyone visiting Yerevan.

One of the best thing in Yerevan to visit. Loved this place. You can enjoy traditional music in the night. The place is full on entertaining. You will get some peace and city view from the top of Cafesjian.
Friendly staff, supports tours in all 3 languages. The museum had a good history, very pleasant sampling experience with 3 cognacs of different ages and thorough explanation of how drink and enjoy it. They also sell custom bottles that are not found elsewhere.
If you have some spare time in Yerevan, this museum should be in the top 5 places to visit.

A brilliant gallery of modern art and design like no other. Exquisite views from every level and surrounded by sophisticated cafes and restaurants. A delight.
Fabulous place amazing artworks and open to public with free of charge. On the ground floor you can find the store to buys some exclusive items. The prices are very good and affordable. Would suggest this place for leisure and art collectivists
Our visit to this cognac factory in Armenia was thoroughly enjoyable. The tour was comprehensive and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We were treated to a tasting, which was a delightful addition to the tour. The price for the tour represented excellent value for money.
Our guide also offered advice on whether to purchase the cognac or not, which was appreciated. I highly recommend this tour, particularly as this cognac is among the most well-known and highly esteemed in Armenia.

I liked the museum it's well organized, but the lighting inside is so bad the translation to English is not so clear with some strange words, the stuff are helpful. paid 3500 AMD for two tickets 🎟️ each 1500 AMD and Additional 500 AMD for taking mobile photos, after all it's good to pay a visit if you're near by .
I went with my mom who doesn’t drink( more for me). It was a great experience however it was super difficult to climb all those stairs up and down. I bought 2, 5, and 10 years old brandy. They are GOOD!
Must-see in the area. I accidentally ended up my walk after visiting Gum market here and it turned out to be a satisfying experience.

It's a beautiful place. It has close to 500+ steps made of limestone with greenery around and enough resting place and security guards. You will find loads of beautiful cafes and restaurants around offering great drink and dinning options..mostly international cuisines.
. Once you reach the top you will witness that it's surrounded by beautiful hills and cotton clouds floating. We thoroughly enjoyed.

Amazing collection of russian art including sculpture, graphics and paintings. Real cultural gem stone survived during turmoils and ordeals Armenia had overcame since early 90th. Place to visit in Yerevan for sure.

This museum has stuff from excavations dated to several centuries ago! The artifacts inside the museum are cool. I went here as a part of the tour
Very small but condensed with information and artefacts. Dive into the history of Urartu, the fallen empire which is counted as the starting point of modern Armenia. History of foundation of mighty Erebuni citadel which was the beginning of Yerevan. Along with museum entrance, ticket grants you an access to the ruins of the citadel high on the hill. State of the ruins is not that good but a feeling of touch to the 3k years old history is worth a jump. From the top you can enjoy the high overview of southern part of the capitol. Mix of ancient, industrial, rural, soviet and modern styles is the current reality of Yerevan.
A must visit museum if you’re into Urartu history. I wish the museum was bigger and had more artifacts showcase. Thanks to the administration for the great work.

I went to the Museum of Printing in the middle of June this year. It's a relatively small museum, but there are a ton of very interesting items, from books to maps to printing presses. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable; I took a guided tour and really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this museum to anyone with an interest in printing, books, archives, etc.!
Also loved this and glad the great reviews convinced me to go. I also, like many others, had never heard of this artist and I now LOVE his work, even buying two prints in the small gift shop after. I didn’t pay for an English tour but one was going on whence I arrived so I ended up just joining that one, gratis. The guide, Lillit I think her name is, was excellent. Excellent English and her passion for Kochar’s innovative work really shines through. She even had a a short video started for us on his famous piece, The Disaster of War. Although photos it seems are technically not allowed (a very silly and detractory rule), she let it go so GREATLY appreciate that! Was there easily 1.5 hours. The museum is small but with the excellent guide making his art and story come alive, worth it. Only detracting one star bc I had to use the loo and the woman cleaning the bathroom practically scowled at me, making me feel very uncomfortable. Like I was in the wrong!!
I was torn on visiting here with some earlier mixed reviews, and even more so on getting a guide, but I’m SO glad I did. I was here easily two hours and the English guide I had, Lillit, was fantastic. Excellent English skills and explanations for all the manuscripts and books she pointed out. The tour was about an hour or maybe more and I enjoyed every minute. The 5000 dram price for the guided tour is so worth it. Yes, there are English translations for everything but you won’t get a true understanding and context of all you see. Also Lillit, loved your bronze eye makeup! Apparently there is an additional cost for taking photos, which I wasn’t aware of, but Lillit me sneak a bunch. I’m so grateful to her and highly recommend her services! This place is a gem for bibliographiles.
Utterly fantastic modern art display and sculpture. Truly amazing it’s free. Loved to wander around at my own pace. Not very crowded when I went.
Unfortunately there was a major renovation when we went there and there were only 2 halls open for viewing. Even so, the museum offered a lot of ancient artifacts to see and enjoy. We spent about an hour and could easily spend more.

Also location is perfect, right in the heart of Yerevan. Parking might be an issue but you can take subway and arrive in 3 minutes on foot from there.

I loved the place, it showcased the literary history of Armenian with an impressive exhibit available in many languages (but more complete in French and Armenian - For once my language was useful !)
It was an interesting visit and I learned a lot in a short amount of time.
I'm quite surprised by the lack of popularity of the place, even the building is good looking and stylish !

Artist and sculptor Ervand Kochar’s (1899-1979) heritage is one of the most interesting phenomena of the 20th century Modern Art. In Paris (1923-1936) he created works which placed his name among the greatest – those who determined the progress of the European and the world Avant-Gardes. Kochar is the founder of Painting in Space or “Peinture dans L’espace” – a new plastic expression including time as the fourth dimension. European art critics considered Kochar one of those “pioneers who had transformed our perceptions about art in a few years and overturned the world….”
An extraordinary place with a great exhibition of ancient books and printings. I was very impressed that the exhibits are commented in 4 languages (Armenian, Russian, English and French).
I recommend to take a guide for the exhibition, they will give you so much insight information about the book and the history.

Nice museum to see Armenian folk art. Made by different contemporary artists these pieces represent how people used to live. If you take a guided tour you can also discover the meaning of each ornament and each piece, that will help you to discover armenian culture better.
I loved it. Didnt know about him, but the tour guide who happened to be Yervand Kochar's grand daughter gave us detailed tour about his work and life. It's a must visit place in Yerevan.

Grazie ai responsabili del museo per avermi accolto con grande familiarità e cortesia. Museo in continuo aggiornamento adeguato ai tempi e ai criteri museologici di esposizione e di conservazione. Karen Demirchyan è sempre vivo nei nostri cuori.
Very cheap to visit. Has a variety of art, upstairs and downstairs. Only stairs to the top. Beautiful art and the gift shop had reasonable prices. They also have a tour guide option. Loved it!

You will enjoy the unique Armenia ancient patterns on traditional equipment. However, there is not enough description which tells history or story behind.

Erebuni Museum was established in 1968. The opening of the museum was timed to coincide with the 2750th anniversary of Yerevan. The Museum stands at the foot of the Arin Berd hill, on top of which the Urartian Fortress Erebouni has stood since 782 BCE. The City-Fortress was excavated, some parts of the structure were reinforced and restored, and the fortress was turned into an outdoor Museum.
The Museum of Russian Art (the collection of Professor A.Abramyan) in Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia, is based on the personal collection of Professor Aram Y. Abramyan, whose greatest patriotism was this priceless gift to his historical homeland - Armenia.

The collection of the Museum of Russian Art in Yerevan presents works by masters of painting, graphics, arts and crafts and scenography of an extremely important and very special period in the history of not only Russian but also world art (the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries). The museum exhibits works by such artists as K. Korovin, V. Serov, K. Somov, V. Borisov-Musatov, M. Vrubel, M. Nesterov, B. Kustodiev, A. Benois, N. Goncharova, K. Petrov- Vodkin, N. Roerich, A. Golovin, E. Lansere, M. Voloshin, R. Falk, P. Konchalovsky, P. Kuznetsov, A. Lentulov, M. Saryan, Z. Serebryakova, S. Sudeikin, A. Tyshler and others.
One of the best museums in Yerevan. My perception of Kotchar's art is totally transformed.
We spent there around 2 hours, while the museum area is so small, but our guide was telling us so many details about Kotchar's life, his challenges and inspirations, what symbols he put into every exhibited work. We totally emerged into athmosphere where artist lived, created, suffered, loved.. I didn't knew the story of his life and it was really breathtaking...
Couple of works are so impressive that you may want to spend hours staying in front of it and listening about every symbol hidden in details of a great master. Beside this, we also spent sufficient time in souvenirs shop and couldn't choose which one is the best of the best - we wanted to take all of them with us :))
Our guide also advised to join their facebook page to be notified about art events or visit them on Saturdays for film-watching. Will do it with great pleasure
Also location of the museum is great for tourists: they can visit it before taking a walk around Cascade or plan to visit cafe or dining places nearby.

Interesting little museum, where was shown the life of an Armenian leader. Pleasant to listen to the stories of his life, look at his pictures, historical and important moments. Karen Drmirchyan contributed his life to make Armenia country where people who are working in the art sphere could find their place. I hope everyone who is interested in Armenian history would visit this museum and talk to Ms. Rima

A revelation of work of an artist little know in western art. This little museum and the tour was one of the best museums I've visited. And I've visited 100s around the world. I travelled to Armenia as a tourist but I'm not Armenian. I wish I could go back.
Small but really nice museum exhibiting some folk art in wood, beautifully carved, fabrics and metals. Each item is described in multiple languages including english. A real treat highly recommend.
Relatively small but nice museum. With no knowledge of Russian painters I enjoyed the variety of painting styles/techniques exhibited. Certainly worth visiting.

Matenadaran, officially the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, is a museum, repository of manuscripts, and a research institute in Yerevan, Armenia. It is the world's largest repository of Armenian manuscripts.
It was established in 1959 on the basis of the nationalized collection of the Armenian Church, formerly held at Etchmiadzin. Its collection has gradually risen since its establishment, mostly from individual donations. One of the most prominent landmarks of Yerevan, it is named after Mesrop Mashtots, the inventor of the Armenian alphabet, whose statue stands in front of the building.
