I came into Don Julio with mild expectations because I didn’t want to be disappointed if I were to have followed the rave reviews and restaurant rankings.
I wouldn’t say I was disappointed in my experience, but I didn’t love it. The food was good, there’s no doubt about that. However, the price does not match the quality. I’ve been to quite a few other restaurants just in Palermo that have given the same or better quality food at much lower prices. But still, the food at Don Julio was good.
What made me not love my experience was mainly the service and atmosphere. My service was bumpy in the beginning with a 15 minute delay on receiving water, 10 minutes for a wine menu, etc.. And when the time came to order food, a new waiter came to my table and said nothing… he just stood there until I began asking if I could order with him. It was odd, but not unfriendly by any means. When it came to paying, after I paid with card, the waiter also asked for a 5.000 tip right there, which was odd to me. I had no problem giving that much of a tip, but the way it was brought up was odd and unprofessional in my opinion.
Lastly, the outdoor seating at Don Julio was not comfortable to me. It was cold with a slight breeze and their heaters tried, but did not mitigate the cold.
I didn’t hate my experience, but I didn’t love my experience. I wouldn’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend to a friend.

One of the best, most prestigious and iconic pizzerias of Buenos Aires. The fugazzetta is out of this world… and the charlote with almond ice cream is a dessert plate-licking good! 😋😋

Such an amazing authentic experience. They serve honest and simple yet great tasty pizzas all day long in this time capsule of a place! Even though it is in a very touristic place, I went on a Sunday and have only spotted locals there. What a find! 😁🍕
HOW TO GET A TABLE: 1) Book 3-4 months in advance, or a lot more, for indoor seating. 2) If you don't have a reservation, here's what you need to do... Aim for getting a lunch table, it's much easier, especially during the week. Show up around 10:30-11:00 AM and wait in a line (the earlier the better). They will start taking names down around 11ish for outdoor seating. We were there at 11:10, got a table for 1:30 PM and you have to check in 30 minutes ahead of time. We showed up at 1:05 and we seated in 10 minutes, *on a Tuesday*. Trying to get a table for dinner is harder. They don't start the waitlist until after lunch, but it's not clear what time they start it, so you might need to try around 4 pm? We tried to get on the waitlist at 5:30 pm on a Monday and the first open table was at 10:45 pm. So, dinner is a lot trickier to get.
Now you have a table, so how is it? The service was top notch, the waiters are very attentive and knowledgeable, working well as a team. The menu has a lot of interesting options. The prices are the highest in Buenos Aires and our meal was about $55 USD per person (wine, shared apps, steaks, sides, shared desserts). The steaks were big and delicious, my second favorite in BA (behind the bife de lomo at Fervor). The mashed sweet potato side was delicious, as were all the desserts. The appetizers were delicious too. Basically, everything was amazing and totally worth it. You'd pay A LOT MORE for this meal anywhere else.

Best steakhouse and best steak in my life. Yes it was pricy comparing to other places and options in Argentina. And especially in the country where everyone has parrilla (grill station) at home, paying usd 80 for a steak seems to be a little over the top.
I have tried many top notch steakhouses in many countries as well as Argentinian style steakhouse in my home country. Still I love the way my meats were cooked here at Don Julio. The juice and texture were incredible.

Los inmortales. A beloved buenos Aires classic. And definitely a different take on Pizza. Nothing fancy. But always packed!

You don’t need a reservation, just go there and ask them to put you on the waiting list. It will be a few hours, so just do something else while you wait. It’s worth it.

Don Julio is excellent. The quality of the ingredients is clearly extraordinary, and they have a great selection of cuts that other parrillas don't offer. They also have a great selection of wines and the desserts (don't miss the Dulce de leche ice cream..) are mindboggling. But it might be more expensive than it's worth. There are other parrillas in Buenos Aires (Cabrera) that are unbelievable as well. And just because it seems inexpensive compared to a Keens (NYC), does not mean that the pricing is justified. But it is certainly a very well managed Machine. Kudos

Muy mala atención, tienen el menú en QR, me senté, tuve tiempo de mirar todo el menú en mi celular, siguen sin atenderme, veo a una moza Jesica (cabello negro y lentes transparentes) que pasa por tercera vez junto a la mesa sin atenderme, le iba a pedir directamente lo que quería, y ni siquiera me dejó terminar la oración para decir "si, ya va!" y luego me trae la carta física que pretendía dejar e irse, le tuve que pedir mientras se alejaba de la mesa.

A tres minutos de hacer el pedido llegó la entrada y a 8' el plato principal, atención súper rápida. Muy buena ambientación, rica comida y precio razonable. Lo más sobresaliente la atención del mozo, Maxi. El lugar reúne un cumulo de aptitudes que invitan a volver. Recomendable 100%.
Lugar que no recomiendo!!! Si bien la ambientación y la atención del mozo fue buena, la comida por lo que se va a los restaurantes...fue pésima. Pedimos pastas (ravioles y Sorrentino con crema) y fue horrible. el planeta muy poco, estaban duros y la crema calentada en microondas...fue horrible.
Kind of a sad restaurant that was stuck in time 40-50 years ago. There were a lot of servers, but they barely seemed interested enough to get the job done. Food was nothing special. In a great eating town like Buenos Aires, our experience here lagged behind every other place we tried. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't good.

Don Julio does not disappoint. We had a reservation and still waited about 35 mins to be seated. The meat is fantastic and very worth the wait. The place is LOUD. Parking is nearly impossible, best by cab. Food- fantastic. Service could be better. Definitely not 5 star but the good is.
El lugar es tranquilo, no habia demasiada gente. La atención es maso, sin demasiado esmero. A diferencia a otros de Coffe Store que suelo frecuentar la taza que me trajeron al medir uno de los combos desayunos (tostadas) eran chiquita cuando en otros locales viene el tazón grande.

A veces me pregunto como hacen las cadenas de retail ...estaba apurada... café y limón pie, ( aceptable), mientras tanto un par de parejas se sentaban, miraban la carta y se retiraban...entendí cuando llego la cuenta$2250... el personal atento, el local bien...pero nadie presta atención que están perdiendo clientes con esos precios. Una lastima por los rrhh. Yo ya me levante de la mesa a futuro.

De lo peor 0 recomendación . Pedimos parrilla..$3900 incomible. La morcilla quemada, el chorizo igual, el vacío parecía un cartón y las costillas no se podían masticar, en lugar de los riñoncitos nos dieron una chuleta de cerdo mini súper quemada, nos quejamos y nos descontaron 1400. Pagamos 3600 x una ensalada, una gaseosa, un vino y dos chinculines. . Había un contingente y una familia y nosotros. Por favor no vayan!!!! NO RECIMIENDO NINGUN PLATO

Es un horror, me cobraron $1200 por está porción de papas, y cuando quise ir al baño casi me da un ataque de pánico de las condiciones en que estaba 🤮
Vengo a calificar indignada con la atención de anoche. Cada vez que le pedíamos algo a la moza, iba a preguntar a otro. Pedimos el menú del día. Eran Ravioles "caseros" que al final terminaron siendo los de caja comprados. Con salsa mixta: Hacé de cuenta que le pusieron puré de tomate en caja con salsa blanca que cuasi era líquido líquido. Un ASCO el plato. El postre, flan pasable. Y mí novio pidió queso con dulce un asco dice que era. Incomible. El supuesto chef cansó con los gritos llamando a los mozos. Los baños horribles. Poco higiene. Entramos porque afuera había gente sentada sino ni me sentaba con mí novio. NO VAYAN!!! ❌

Pedimos un pure para acompañar y era un pure instantáneo pero sin papa, sin gusto, UNA BABA. Decía postre incluido y solo quedaba queso y dulce, sin aviso previo. Pagamos 5800 dos personas. NO se lo recomiendo a nadie.

This place opens at 8pm which is on the earlier side for an Argentine restaurant. It was packed with people by 9pm. I thought the food was just ok although the service was pretty good considering how many people were eating there. It was an average experience with average food for me.
Delicious food and beautiful decor. However, it is not wheel chair accessible. Prices are reasonable. It costs $30, for 2, for lunch. I even had dessert, which was a very large ice cream bobon. Everything was delicious. The only problem was when I had to use the rest room. It was a long, steep flight of stairs to get there. And, I am quite agile and abled body.

Best pizza in town! No way you miss it. Other options in menu are excellent as well....but their pizza is unique! If you love pizza, you can´t skip it.

GUAPA’s is a cute restaurant on the Carlos Paz shoreline and has a beautiful ambiance, great service, and excellent food.
They are famous among the locals for their excellent lomitos ( a steak sandwich) and their ginger-mint lemonade. DEFINITELY try their mint-ginger lemonade!
However they also serve smoked BBQ ribs, pizzas, sandwiches, tacos and more.
Great selection and space, I highly recommend you check it out!

El lugar está vacío porque la comida y la atención son pésimas. La parrillada para dos está $900 y solo trae 2 morci y choris bombón, 2 bifecitos de carne y dos pedasitos de cerdo diminutos. No incluye guarnición, y si pedis papas fritas te traen unas recalentadas. Las bebidas son en lata y cada una $100. No vale la pena
Muy malo. La comida pésima, lomitos con una feta de carne que no se sabe muy bien de qué puede ser, una hoja de lechuga marchita y una triste pincelada de huevo con papas incomibles y, eso sí, muuucho pan. No aceptan tarjetas y no te avisan antes. Así que si ya comiste, te traen un papelito con la cuenta y arreglate como puedas (del tipo: Ahí a la vuelta hay un Banco....). Tenés que exigir la factura porque si no no te la traen. Violan la ley (por lo de las tarjetas y la facturación), atentan contra el buen comer y desprecian las mínimas condiciones de servicio que exigen los turistas y una ciudad receptiva como Carlos Paz se merece.

Un lugar muy bien ubicado, con una atención estupenda, al punto que al retrasarse en traer la comida, según ellos porque para mí estuvo correcto el tiempo, nos obsequiaron uvas empanadas de carne increíbles las cuales recomiendo probar. Comimos un cabrito exquisito, en su punto justo con una salsa criolla que le hacía justicia. La porción para 1 basta y sobra para 2.

Probably the only place to serve a filling breakfast in Carloz Paz. Argentinians aren't much for breakfast and mostly just have pastries and coffee. Being able to get some eggs at least was great. The dinner menu is also varied with food from a different country every night. Overall a great place!

Lugar amplio, ofrece todo tipo de comida. Yo comí lasagna con crema mixta, un sabor muy bien logrado. Mis hijos parrilla, bien cocinada, abundante carne. Muy buena atención por parte de los mozos. Precios normales. Es de destacar los baños, amplios, cómodos y limpios.
