Lovely Indian restaurant in Innsbruck old town. Tried the dal and palak paneer both were excellent. Great taste and portion size. Efficient and friendly service. Would recommend to anyone looking for Indian food options in this part of the world.
Loved the food and the ambience here! The Staff and owners are so sweet. We came here twice and the food was lip smacking. Enough veg options too!

Went there for the first time with my office colleagues. They were super nice and agreed to arrange a buffet just for our group. As soon as we entered, the atmosphere was amazing and everything smelled incredible. The food was amazing! Some of my colleagues were trying Indian food for the first time and they kept on praising it! I am Indian and it was delicious for me too! They even kept on bringing fresh naan. They put in so much you for and were extremely nice people! I guess I have tried all the Indian restaurants in innsbruck, but I would say this is the best in terms of food and the hospitality! 100% recommended!

Wonderful food,, kind treat and more than reasonable prices. All perfect. You can eat delicious and spicy meat or veg fresh made dishes for the price of a couple of bratwursts. The cook personally apologized for an extra couple minute's wait (the place was packed) and gave us a couple of schnapps at the end as an unneeded apology. 38 euros to eat two full meals and drinking good wine, in one of the most expensive regions of Europe is surprising.
The food was not great at all, also was over priced and the staff was not friendly at all. NOT recommending at all. We ordered Madhuban Thali, waited for around 30 mins and the waiter comes with some other dish. The drink Nimbu Paani was more of Sugar than soda and lemon.
Found this great restaurant off the normal areas. Super flavors - best butter chicken we have had - and the mutton was nice and spicy without being overdone. Also parking right by it.

The food took over an hour to come and when it did it wasn’t good . The rice was hard and it seemed old , the butter chicken was the worst butter chicken I’ve tried it tasted like canned tomatoes. Even the yogurt wasn’t good and seemed old . The service was slow and the waiter wasn’t friendly , walking around ignoring what the customers were asking for . Also the place seems dirty . Very delicious food and very polite staff, we arrived late and asked if we can get dinner, the owner Mr Vinay asked us to be seated and place order, everything is prepared fresh and was very tasty, the best indian food on our Europe trip.

I am going to this restaurant for 10 years now. I have visited almost all indian restaurants in Innsbruck and other cities, however no one can match this kitchen. Of course it is a matter of taste, however the way they cook is clearly different and they have their own handwriting on it. If you like quality and taste this is the right place for you. The prices are fair and the service was always nice and professional to me.
Great Indian food in Innsbruck. We were 7 hungry souls. Ordered quite a variety of food. But everything was served pretty fast, at same time and cooked as per spice level each one of us requested. Each one of us appreciated the taste. Must visit if you want to have Indian food in Innsbruck.
You will find floating onions in korma where it is supposed to be blended properly . overall same curry which is loaded with undercooked onions with different spice levels are used in every kind of dish. Food was not fresh at all.
The Naans, they were far from being fresh , rather they were just old and multiple times reheated ones costing 5€ each. In Lamb makhni lamb was not even tender. Food portions are really small as compared to its price. Taste is below average. Won’t ever recommend at all.

Ate twice here and also ordered take out. Very authentic taste , the Chicken Biryani was the best item while chicken tandoori was also good. The owner is a nice fellow, very courteous. Well recommended
The service was too late...... I ordered chicken biriyani and it was not so good, we can make better biriyani at home and the quantity was too less not at all worth 15€. My friend ordered spicy chicken curry and it was literally tasteless....it was like eating water with few masalas that's it. The service was too worst.... There was only one waiter and he couldn't manage everything so can't blame him. The owner also didn't care much, we called him regarding something, he came to use and the someone called him from other table he went there ignoring us. It was literally the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to.
We had ordered a veg side dish and they served rice and nan ( surprisingly soft and unlike other places where it is rubbery) along with this. The veg biryani was delicious too. It took them some time to serve us as every dish is made fresh and the food was mouth watering. The place is small so best if you reserve a table. Since we were a walk-in we only got a table that was close to the kitchen but the food made up for it...

As many of them have commented this is a very over priced restaurant. We were in a hurry to catch a train to Zurich and ordered a take away of 2 Biryani's and a pulav rice. Making use of the situation he charged 17.50 and 16.50 for the Biryani's and 15.50 for pulav rice. Anyone who have had Indian food before would know that pulav rice is just plain rice and they charged the same for all of them. When he said 50euros for the whole, I had no way other than paying him because I was traveling with my family and the kids were really hungry. Suspicious of the price I asked for the bill and you can see the entries are generic. He even couldn't round off and added another 50c to get to 50€. I have attached the bill for your reference. I am writing this to let you all know the real face of this business. The food was average and the chicken and rice was burned. Really not worth the price.
Innsbruck is a really nice city and we really like it and would definitely come back. There were no issues and the locals were really friendly. It is business like this that tarnish the images of such a great city.

Excellent food, reasonably priced in a welcoming, cosy setting with friendly, efficient service. What more could you ask for?
Extremely delicious Indian food! We went without reservation and the restaurant was full. We got a place after waiting for a while, but it was worth waiting.
The food was unbeatable. The “murg chiken tikka” was extremely tasty with “kulcha”. My son adored and we simply loved the complete food. Must visit for a real indian food experience.
The owner was was giving personal attention to everything and despite having so much of rush there was no chaos. He was managing everything very swiftly. It is definitely a sign of good service.

One of the best Indian restaurants I have experienced in Europe! Food is great, very similar to the taste that you find in India. The staff is amazing too! Highly recommended!

It’s going to take time. We are only 3 and quite busy. I was totally shocked with the guy’s attitude. I asked him to talk with respect to his customers but his reaction was something like I give a damn to the customers. Since we were totally exhausted after day long walking and city tour, we had no option and to leave the place. Fortunately we found another Indian restaurant “Rama” round the corner which was amazing both food wise and customer service too was excellent.

Been to this amazing Restaurant twice in 2 days, the food is very good with plenty of options to choose from , good options for vegetarians as well . The Thali is highlly recommended. This is run by an Indian family and their hospitality is really good.

We are lucky to get good Indian restaurants with tasty food in Europe. The food here was tasty and the hotel was spacious.
The food is absolutely outstanding on this place and definetely worth the price. Fresh ingredients used. We visited the place on a Sunday evening and obviously there was a lack of staff in the kitchen and we had to wait for the food almost 1,5 hour. The chef apologized for this and the drinks were on the house. Without the waiting for 1,5 hour this would have been a 5 star place.
Stumbled upon Sahib while exploring the city. It is by far one of the best Indian restaurant that I've been to. We ordered the butter chicken and chicken briyani. Its worth every penny. Splendid service by the server as well who checked in on us from time to time and always puts a smile on his face. Perfect.
The food here was amazing. All was made very fresh and was very flavorful. Dal palak was especially super. Also customer service was very good. In the end we ordered salted Lassi which was phenomenal. This place is definitely recommended if you are in Salzburg. Two thumbs up for sure.
I was visiting Austria from the US for few days. I found this is one of the closest halal restaurants from the hotel I was staying at so I had to give it a shot. The customer service was amazing. The people who work here treat their customers with kindness and I loved it so much about them. Please keep up the great service! I can’t wait to be back someday!
The combination of ambiance and the food is amazing! We loved it so much that we went for two days in a row just to try more things from the menu. Everything we tried was delicious! And the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat good and delicious food! Also the beer and wine great 👍🏻😃

One of the best INDIAN FOODS I have had in Europe. Truly Indian breads and Authentic curry taste.

amazing food, and I truly mean that, this place was right beside our hotel and we didn't even bother to go somewhere else, a lot of Vegetarian and vegan options as well, it was so damn good, friendly service and not expensive! I hope

Great food, very friendly staff. Ashish helped explain all vegan & vegetarian options on the menu and made sure that all the food was just to our liking. The dishes have a little bit of spice to them, but it is just enough to add proper flavor to the food. It is not often you see staff this engaged and driven for customer satisfaction. Will definitely return when we are in Salzburg again!
Best Indian food Ive had since I've been to Europe. Good job guys. Everything was delicious. Don't let the wait for food to deter you from a lovely dinner. There is 2 guys in a small kitchen servicing a large restaurant. And yet they know what they are doing. Compliments to the chef's.
The restaurant has a nice aura I wish the food could have shared the same aura... The food is fine but misses the flavours of India and by flavours I don't mean chillis 🌶️ I hope the restaurant can better the product they offer to bring in more profitable sales

Had vegetarian buffet dinner which included paneer curry, dal makhni,nan, rice and mohanthal (sweet). They served tap water for free on the table. Overall good experience. Walkable distance from city centre.
After breathtaking view of Salzburg, we were quite hungry. Our search ended with this restaurant serving mouthwatering indian food. Staff here was very friendly and food was very tasty. We tried mix veg and 3 roti. This was good enough for two people.

Excellent Food. We were a group of 19 people travelling from India. They served us customised Buffet menu. Overall the food was very good with authentic taste. Special mention to Tadka Daal , Salted Lassi , Gulab Jamun were out of the world. Staff was very courteous and accommodative. Highly recommend
Good ambience however Restaurant owner behaves badly with customers. Need to settle price before someone orders since Menu card price is different from what they charge during payment. They must charge what is printed on menu card. They should not ask for different price than printed on menu card.
Great food and service. I recommend this restaurant to all those who want to taste authentic Indian dishes. The spice level is minimal hence it gives a home-prepared taste. Great food for kids as well. I only deduct 1 star because the Kadai paneer was not what we expected it was a watery version of Shahi paneer. But the manager said that I need to order paneer Tikka masala,which is similar to Indian Kadai paneer. Anyhow i only recommend going there for a lovely meal.

This restaurant is located near the city centre, easily reachable by public transport. The owners were nice. Food was delicious. I ordered palak paneer and garlic naan. Palak paneer was creamy with lots of paneer cubes. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Innsbruck. Nice service and very refreshing atmosphere.

Ordered there today and was very disappointed. The cocos chicken curry didn’t taste like a curry at all! Dry chicken and no spice to be found anywhere.

Tried Daal Makhni and it really reminded us the taste of home made food .Staff is very friendly and generous , can definitely recommend this restaurant if you miss Indian food while visiting Salzburg.
really nice staff, but somehow not well seasoned that i can taste the indian. food was good, just not exotic. the lunch menu is a good deal: 10€ soup/salad and special dish with naan/rice.

We went there for a late lunch and really enjoyed the food. Veg Biryani and Pakoda was very fresh and tasty. I would definitely recommend it.

The food took me to India, as was the intention. Good service and great portion sizes. Garlic naan was quite good.
Staff were very nice, but as other reviewers have mentioned, do not come here expecting authentic Indian food. Food is also expensive and not worth its price, our 1 butter chicken that came with a small plate of briyani rice cost €16.50. Even though they were generous with the chicken the taste was nothing like butter chicken. (food in photo is half-eaten)

If you're looking for an authentic Indian meal, Maharaja Resturant is the perfect place for you. Had the Maharaja non veg thali and guess what!! It worth every penny. The owner was very welcoming!!! The ambience was also quite nice. Overall a very good experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
Tonight my best friend and I had the pleasure of eating at the Maharaja and loved our experience. We are visiting from the states and were delighted by our experience here as we both love Indian food. Our server Ashish was very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind during our meal. We were very impressed by the delicious quality of the food - the mango lasses were some of the best we’ve had. Along with the chicken korma and butter chicken and the butter naan - everything was absolutely amazing! We highly recommend trying the Maharaja, it was a fantastic experience that added to our lovely memories here in Salzburg!!
After spending 7 days in Europe this was the first Indian restaurant we visited, the food choices were great, ordered various dishes and each one of them was absolutely delicious, the staff is very courteous and specially the hostess/waitress Geeta was very helpful and friendly.

Our family just ate here. This restaurant is in demand by many people. All seats were filled and service was fast and professional. Close to the hotel and located in the city center on a side street of Salzburg. Easily accessible. The food is very Indian, delicious, strong in spices and feels like eating at home. Food is absolutely stunning. I love the fact that they use hot stones when you order tandoor chicken, which keeps it warm until your last bite. Service is also nice, helpful and fast. Absolutely recommend this place for an Indian evening.
Food was good. Quantity could have been better. It was quite busy when we were there and they faced heat in serving everyone. I would recommend it for Indian food. Prices are on a higher side.

A staff member from our hotel recommended this place and we we so glad he did. Wonderful atmosphere, great food, awesome service! Was so excited to eat Indian cuisine as we had been traveling a lot so we forgot to take more photos. Their tandoori lamb was so good and tender. The chicken tikka masala had just the right level spice!
The food at Indian Palace was very delicious and filling. It is the go-to place for anyone looking for authentic Indian food in Salzburg for a very reasonable price.

Great Restaurant with awesome taste, hospitality and ambience. They also have a small kids play area to engage the kids.
We went there for dinner while in Innsbruck since the place was near our hotel. The location is excellent. The prices are low. However, I personally did not like either the food or the ambiance. Our table was facing the kitchen, and this resulted in the entire smell of the kitchen seeping in our jackets. So be careful. Overall, it was a so so experience. The place is always packed, so I would not recommend making a special effort to visit it.

Even if not everything seems to work perfectly in this restaurant I would have a bad conscience to give them an unfavorable review because the owner really tries hard to make guests feel comfortable. It takes one look around at the entrance to understand that there is not an abundance of financial firepower behind this business. Most of the inventory has been reused from the previous (non-indian) owner, which creates a bit of an odd atmosphere, as some have noted correctly.
We were there on a Sunday noon when one woman alone was caring for a fully booked restaurant and was visibly suffering while still maintaining an admirable friendliness towards the customers. The self-composure to carry such a miserable situation with such grace for hours and hours on end really deserves respect and I constantly wondered, what unlucky chain of events brought the owners into that situation on that particular day.
The food was ok, as far a I can say having never been to India myself. Butter chicken could have been a little more spicy and Naan was a little undercooked and soggy. And, as mentioned by others, I also found the constant use of tin-foil a little peculiar. It is certainly worth mentioning that so many reviewers from India were not really satisfied.
However, I would like to remind anyone decrying “non authenticity” that there is a fatal co-evolution between exotic restaurants far from their country of origin and their business locations in Europe. In most cases, restaurants with cuisine from far away would be out of business within 2 weeks if they were cooking their original home-style cuisine. Classic Indian cuisine for example has many dishes which are so unfathomably hot that few people I know would be able to tolerate even a teaspoon without getting into serious trouble. It is us, the local customers and our demands, who have distorted the menus of Chinese, Korean, Indian, Persian, African restaurants to what they are now. The owners have adapted to our taste in order to keep their businesses afloat. In Salzburg, anecdotally, not one single Japanese restaurant is run by actual native Japanese owners.
I wish the owners, who must also have suffered terribly during the COVID lockdown, the best of luck for their restaurant!

There is Long waiting time. Even after ordered there was minimum 25 min waiting time. Even after Half an hour waiting time, Waiter was very rude with us. We have 2 kids and they were hungry but he didnt care. He start argue with me. As a Indian he treated me as a beggar. Restaurant earning money on name of India, but they dont have respect for Indian People. We face this. As an Indian I am giving minus rating. After everything we left without dinner. Please avoid this restaurant. There are lots of other good Indian restaurant in Innsbruck.
The best Indian food that I ever had the opportunity to eat! The staff was super helpful and friendly! We highly recommend it. Their dessert was amazing too. The service was excellent. Outstanding combination of food, service and environment! We will definitely come back when will travel abroad from Romania.
Fantastic place for Indian cuisine in Innsbruck! They offer a dish which features 5 small portions of different currys, that come with rice and naan bread. This is ideal to try a variety of dishes, especially when one is indecisive. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. Drinks are tasty as well, especially the Indian Lassis. I highly recommend Jaipur to small groups, looking for a delicious dinner experience.
I likes the food here. We tried few items and it was really nice. Staffs were welcoming and this is located at central part of touristy place in Salzburg. So if you are hungry after roaming around then this is your go to place för Indian food
Fantastic restaurant ! The fish Curry, garlic naan and Rogan josh was unbelievable too. Mango lassi and a beer was well loved by us too with our meal. We were served by Sunny who also owns the place and he gave us amazing recommendations of things to do on our trip and was so friendly and awesome. Really refreshing to have such great service. Must go here if you are visiting

Very good experience. We came here first time 2 years ago, second time 5 months ago and we had to come here again. Food is amazing, atmosphere perfect. We ordered some special dishes which were not in the menu, but no problem. Very satisfied 👍
Very yummy! We have been here twice and it’s been great both times. Service is very friendly. Food is amazing! The garlic naan was fantastic! I had the mango chicken and it was so flavorful. Highly recommend you dine here on your next visit to the alps.

4 different restaurants with different cuisines (Arabic, Chinese, North Indian, Western fast food), all having the same owner and same staff.
Dining experience is just avg, this place gets a lot of delivery orders and the staff is really busy (but friendly).
Chicken Doner was really good and value for money. Indian rotis were good, though the curries were just average. Indian curry and rice combos are good value for money. Noodles are very thick and the vegetables are slightly uncooked.

Small place. But of all the Indian places we have tried in Austria, this is the best. Very good serving. They even wait for you to complete your prev course before serving the next dish so that its served hot.
Mahraja is the best Indian restaurant in town. The quality of the meat tastes good and the rice is cooked to perfection. The restaurant is spacious with tables that fit groups.

It was a rainy day, and this was the perfect comfort food we were craving. The mango lassi was spot on!

A very delicious food and a very friendly host. Loved every bit of this place. The food was just mouth watering. The decor inside the restaurant was top notch. The ambience and the conversation made the lunch experience a memorable one. We tried Indian food on several other places, but this was just above all. The host of this restaurant made sure that we about our meal and was prompt on getting things done. If I'm going back to Salzburg, my go to restaurant will be this one only.

Totally bad experience. The food was really bad. We took the Maharaja thali and among all the foods on the thali, the chicken was the only thing that was likable. Other than that, the daal, the sabji, the lamb, everything was tasteless and badly cooked. The papadam was okay, but this whole experience was awful. The mango lassi was too runny and seemed like most of it was just water. I would recommend no one to go there.
Great restaurant, excellent service. Highly recommend malai kofta (presented in the traditional way with one piece on your plate) peshwari naan, anything with daal, the paneer tikka and the mango lassi. Thali Murgh was pretty good but chicken could be better (though common issue in every Indian restaurant).
