A big shout out to the amazing team of doctors and nurses in ICU and MAU at Redcliffe Hospital who have cared for my husband this past week! You are incredible, professional and so caring. I am grateful for the daily phone call to update me on his progress. Thank you so very much.

I would give them zero star if I could. Terrible service. Always behind their appointment time at least 2 hours. Then tell me will rebook me for another appointment if I couldn’t wait any longer.
I understand short of staff sometimes but 2 hours behind appointment is unacceptable. Especially when you have to pick up kid from school and back to work.

I wanted to shoutout the MRI team, the girl with brown hair and guy with dreads. After a hard 11 day stay and having to get 3 separate MRI’s and being someone who struggles big time in those machines, your patience and kindness to help me get through all 3 scans was phenomenal. You went above and beyond ti calm me and did all you could to get me through each one. Your empathy and kindness strengthened me and made me feel safe, thank you.

Terrible experience waited from 530pm to 5am in A and E before I saw a dr asked 3 times for pain relief got it at 130am
No one was nice 😔.. also new digital system was happening ..
When finally seen it was a torn
Meniscus... when leaving the nurse was so rude when I asked for a wheelchair ..she said maybe you should start to get use to your crutches...
Needed a MRI but wouldn't do it but have to go out of hospital and have it done! I realise they're busy but a little empathy goes a long way .

This quiet lovely little hospital is one of Perth's unknown gems I recently had a knee replacement there and I could not fault the service the staff are helpful friendly and there sems to be a spirit of joy in the air . I could not enjoy the lovely food because I was quite sick but it smelt great my entire hospital stay was a real delight

Tonight I had the privilege of being treated by Dr. Megan at Redcliffe Hospital, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the exceptional care I received. Dr. Megan's professionalism and ethical approach were evident from the moment she began treating me. Her expertise and skill in stitching my face were remarkable, resulting in an outstanding outcome.
Dr. Megan not only demonstrated immense technical proficiency but also provided compassionate and empathetic care throughout the entire process. Her ability to communicate clearly and reassure me during a stressful time made all the difference. It is evident that Dr. Megan is a dedicated and talented physician, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been treated by her. Thank you, Dr. Megan, for your outstanding work and for making a significant difference in my recovery.

I’m so impressed and grateful for the maternity care I’ve received throughout my pregnancy, birth and 1-week post birth at Redcliffe. I feel like I was respected, supported and in good hands the whole time. My first birth was at the RBWH with private and hospital midwives as my comparison, and I found Redcliffe to be very warm, down to earth, with excellent staff morale/culture in the maternity ward and empowering in the sense that I was always informed and decisions were made together.
I really admire the staff for their hard work, dedication and attentive care. Biggest thanks to Dr Ash, midwives Ashlee, Amity, Loren, Lana, Kayla, Paris, Dr Harry and social worker Vanessa.. and all of the other amazing staff we received care from who are superstars in their work! 🩵
After being discharged, baby and I needed to return a couple of days later as I had a fever. I went through the ED coming back and it saddens me to see how much pressure the poor staff are under and the effects on people waiting for care. This is obviously a government/funding problem, not a staff incompetency issue. Hopefully the new upgrade helps to make things smoother on the staff and the greater community. These people are absolute heroes for the sacrifice they make to help others working in such stressful conditions! 🙏🏼

NEVER give birth at Redcliffe Hospital! I would rather give birth on a river bank next time.
It took me 14 months to process what happened to me. My waters had been broken for over 36 hours before I was finally induced by the hospital. The birth itself was completely okay. The midwives were amazing, in fact. It's what happened afterwards that was extremely traumatic.
After I gave birth I was left on the table with the epidural still attached and working. My baby was placed on a table by himself across the room. I was then left alone, I had a reaction to the epidural where I couldn't keep myself awake, none of the medical staff seemed to notice this. I was left on the table with the epidural working for 4 hours, my baby was on the otherside of the room. The heat lamp wasn't even on. No one came to check on us.
When the awful blonde British midwife Sam came to finally check on us, she completely abused me saying my baby almost died and he's too cold. He hadn't even been fed yet. I was still left on the table unable to move while she attempted to warm my baby up and formula feed him, I had no say in breastfeeding either. The epidural was finally turned off, and she gave me a speaking to about getting up straight away. She gave me NO choices. My partner came back in and had to carry me bridal style to have a shower. I had absolutely no ability to walk.
After that, Sam absolutely gave me NO choice but to walk all the way to the maternity ward. She was so angry and aggressive that I couldn't communicate to her that I couldn't feel my legs. I ended up hunched over the cradle, barely pushing myself along as I could not feel my feet and crying the whole way to the maternity ward. Everyone was staring at me.
From there, the treatment continued to be absolutely traumatic. My son was completely refusing to feed, he was throwing everything up, including both breast milk and formula. No one took me seriously at all. It was on the 3rd day that my baby hadn't eaten and he was going downhill FAST. I kept talking to doctors and nurses to no avail. A doctor actually told me I was overreacting! Literally 10 minutes of him telling me I was overreacting my son threw up green bile. That same doctor came him and moved him to NICU immediately. From there my son was transported to Mater Mothers and was placed in the cardiac NICU ward for 2 weeks, he had suspected sepsis and his heart wasn't working as well as he was starting to not breathe on his own.
Mater Mothers saved my sons life, Redcliffe hospital almost killed us numerous times. My son ending up in NICU was due to Redcliffe hospitals' mistreatment and abuse my staff.
I will never in a million years give birth at Redcliffe hospital again. I have several friends that gave birth at the same time as me. All my friends who gave birth at Redcliffe had the exact same experience as me. It seems Caboolture is MUCH better than Redcliffe these days.

We came for a power supply to the hospital and we have waited more than 3 hours and nothing happens, they come and take the temperature and blood pressure and then they leave. The truth is that my husband is the Australian and he he says it's normal. In my country (a third world country) they serve more people faster. Thank God I haven't gotten sick here and I hope I never do. The service is very bad. And this is supposed to be an “emergency.” 1 star because I can't give it less than that 😔

I stayed overnight about 15 months ago. A recent stay at SJOGH made me realise what a huge difference in care & premises it is between the two. The night nurse at South Perth was uncaring & I felt like a bother to her even though I was in pain. I was glad to leave and care for myself at home

Fantastic experience at ED yesterday. I was quite unwell (unlike some there), and thus was seen promptly, constant follow-up and could not have asked for more. The staff were very caring and considerate. Admission was considered but not needed in the end. Many many thanks, well done to all!

I recently underwent a dental procedure with Dr. Mario Alberghini, accompanied by Dr. Van Riet as my anaesthetist. Their meticulous care ensured a smooth and successful procedure, making the entire experience stress-free. I'm immensely grateful for their expertise. I also want to extend my appreciation to Jenny, the Registered Nurse assigned to me, for her attentive care. The hospital was immaculate, and the staff were very efficient.
Highly recommend.
Highly recommend.

Im making this review on what my sister in law has been experiencing with this hospital.
She was asked to come in on a Wednesday to be induced and has since not left the hospital because they are keeping her baby in as they “are at full capacity” and now they are understaffed and want to wait until the weekend to start labour as “staff will be chasing extra money on a weekend” as said by a doctor which is almost a horrible thing to hear that Sunshine hospitals staff would prefer to chase money than look after their patients.
My sister in law has and is still a high risk pregnancy and is not being treated as such.
This hospital needs to do better.

Just recently had my second day procedure done through South Perth Hospital and I cannot recommend them enough. The level of compassion and warmth I felt from the entire team there made a difficult experience for me one that I felt comforted and supported through the whole time. Thank you South Perth Hospital.

Presented twice in 18 hours with days of blood clotting, possible internal bleeding and extreme pain amongst other symptoms and they wouldn't even allow me to stay over night, wouldn't give me a CT scan, nothing more than blood tests, panadol and an x ray. Despite my continued insistence about how much pain I was in and that I needed more scans they simply said they don't have the beds. If something amounts to this in the next 48 hours they'll be receiving an extremely large lawsuit for negligence. Staff themselves were polite but duty of care clearly neglected. If you don't want your life at risk go somewhere else. I hope my family aren't going to be suing you in a week sunshine.

I recently stayed at Sunshine Hospital emergency short stay after coming in via ambulance, all the nurses who were on during this time were all extremely kind and attentive, and also Jessica the Care Coordinator was very kind and patient and made me feel very reassured with a plan to go home, and the other care coordinator I saw on Wednesday morning and during my discharge who I unfortunately have forgotten the name of. Doctor Rikki was very kind and informative on my arrival, and doctor David in particular I felt really took care in the amount of pain I was in and arranged further pain management that I feel was what led to my actually feeling much better over night. All the staff I encountered were extremely kind and never made me feel uncomfortable, and were really on top of my medication for the pain, I never really had to request it they always came in at regular intervals. It was my first time being in hospital in an emergency type situation in a lot of pain and I had a really great experience, and would like to thank them all so much, I am extremely grateful.

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the treatment for my pregnant wife receiving at Sunshine Hospital. Unfortunately, our experience has been far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to bring these issues to everyone attention.
Firstly, I must highlight the inadequate level of care provided to my wife during her stay at sunshine hospital. It is distressing to witness the pain she endured and the lack of attention she received from the medical staff. As a patient, she deserved to be treated with compassion and receive the necessary pain management to alleviate her suffering. Regrettably, this was not the case.
Furthermore, I am deeply troubled by the false information that was provided to us during our time at Sunshine Hospital. It is essential for medical professionals to be transparent and honest in their communication with patients and their families. However, we experienced instances where the information provided to us was misleading, causing unnecessary confusion and distress.
I cannot help but question the staffing levels and the availability of qualified doctors at Sunshine Hospital. It appears that the shortage of staff and doctors has resulted in patients, like my wife, enduring unnecessary suffering. It is disheartening to witness the impact this has had on her well-being and overall experience at your facility.
I understand that challenges can arise in any healthcare institution, but it is crucial for a hospital to address these issues promptly and effectively. I sincerely hope that you take this complaint seriously and take immediate steps to rectify the situation. Patients deserve to receive the highest standard of care, and it is your responsibility to ensure that this is consistently upheld.

Just left after my tonsillectomy and it was by far my best experience in a hospital. I had a scottish nurse called Jo and phillipino nurse called Camille who were both super friendly and caring.

I had to have an emergency surgery on the 11/11/2023. I just want to thank the Staff at the hospital for such a professional , polite and extremely well co-ordinated care from start to end .
From arriving at the beginning and being interviewed by the first point of contact (nurse) and then the admin staff, both professional and friendly.
When the nurse from the Emergency Department came to fetch me , she was brilliant in her care, after the Doctor saw me . She was so thorough and careful in attaching my drip for my medication . She was so careful in finding a strong vein to take my blood , and answering any questions I asked her. What an amazing nurse.
The doctor was also polite and friendly and explained what needed to be done .
One of the surgical team came to speak to me as well and told me exactly what the surgery was all about , also friendly and polite .
They then moved me to a ward and the PSA staff member was friendly and polite.
At the ward , there was a student nurse and she was so professional in her manner of asking questions and checking my Blood pressure , temperature and oxygen , she even went to find my wife a chair.
When the student's shift ended , the nurse that took care of me was even more amazing , explaining what was going to happen and reassuring me , went with me to the theatre and escorted back after the surgery. Took great care in her treatment of me , with pain relief and antibiotics through my drip. I just want to say a big thank you to her.
The anaesthetists were so thorough and reassuring as well as polite and friendly . Both were so willing in answering and explaining my concerns or questions I had .The anaesthetist nurse assistant was polite and friendly.
The surgeon was great , helpful and friendly .
Sunshine hospital is so clean and has great modern facilities and technology.

Thank you so much Sunshine hospital for your great service from ALL your staff .

I attended as a day surgery patient yesterday. Everything from admission to discharge ran seamlessly. I loved the process of being able to walk to the pre theatre ward and theatre, instead of being wheeled in on a trolley, which sometimes adds to the stress of me having the procedure. Being able to sit and put your feet up with a warm blanket while waiting to go to the theatre was reassuring and comforting. All the team were friendly and helpful. I have had surgeries at two major private hospitals south of the river and rate South Perth Hospital’s care and attention to detail far above both. Thank you all for a stress free procedure.

Thank you to the wonderful staff in the Endoscopy unit. The level of care was simply oustanding. It was so great to be informed by one of the nurses as well about the hospitals PATH initiative. Good to know I can reach out to someone if i need. Thank you again :)

I went here for a procedure at the Joan Kirner women's hospital and cannot recommend it enough. New facilities and caring nursing and doctor teams. Had a follow up phone call the next day and felt all my concerns were listened to and addressed. Very good for a Public Hospital.

Recently went into the Day Procedure Unit for Plastics. The wait was long to be honest and the amount of times I had cancellations was enough to make me give up. However, the staff, especially the nurses were VERY welcoming.
Nurses noticed that I wanted to see my parents/partner every 30mins or so during my wait in the Pre-Procedure room and they allowed me to see her. All big smiles and that's impressive considering the stress they go through. Doctors were all VERY friendly too, which I love to see in a public hospital. Andrew (my nurse) spoke with me all the way from the pre-room all the way until my operation was done. Made me feel very comfortable and assuring to how the operation would go.
Special shoutout to nurses Andrew, Marcella, and Lindy and doctors Rose, Paul and Jet.
Thanks a lot team!

Going to shame this woman publicly for her rude behaviour to my family on the 06/10/2023.
Located at the Joan Kirner Women & Children’s department, my family & I asked for directions to see my aunt who recently got admitted to the hospital. Had to walk back & forth because some staff at Sunshine hospital were inconsistent with telling us where to go, how to get there - eventually making us confused and restless. My cousin spoke very calmly to her asking for her assistance but she did NOT respond well:
1) she did not use her indoor voice, spoke obnoxiously loud & even blurted out his address.
2) no smile, or any welcoming behaviour from her.
I did not say anything because I did not want to cause a scene, but my family members all noticed it. My grandma didn’t like the way she served us & pointed that hospital staff should be friendlier.
Luckily, my aunty spoke on behalf of all of us & told her off, saying to her that her customer service was rubbish & that she needed to do her job properly. Go home, retire & let someone take over who ACTUALLY can do their job because clearly you don’t.
Even this woman at the MAIN reception was obnoxious as well since i haven’t stepped foot in this hospital (over a decade ago) and may have lost direction but at least SHE smiled.
I don’t ever like to publicly shame someone, but if they’re rude to my family or anyone else i care about it’ll be an exception. My family members are soft spoken, to be given such rubbish service from both main reception & Joan Kirner department is utterly despicable. I’m glad my aunty told you off.

I was admitted via the ED due to a medical issue and I haven't had such an efficient experience at any hospital in Australia. The staff were patient, kind, had great bedside manner and the doctors were very quick to see each patient. It's a newer hospital and has a great feel to it and the amenities are clean. Sunshine Hospital is definitely one of the best hospitals I have been admitted to.

The facilities and staff are amazing! They took great care of me during my pregnancy and after. I felt so supported and cared for by the staff. I'm so glad I had my second baby! Great Hospital.

Absolutely disgusting.
Wouldn’t recommend I hate that I have to be at this hospital.
To have my baby.
4th baby due to have a c-section
I’ve had 3 previous horrific csections all emergency 36-37 weeks tiny babies.
This one huge baby and I’m dying, I’m 34weeks and in such bad health I can barley move. I have horrific issues with my heart rate been in and out of hospital for baby movements and pain.
And they just laugh and don’t care.
Absolutely disgusting behaviour.
I’m scared to go back.
But have no other option.they basically would rather me die than take baby out. I’m unable to give birth naturally due to being unable to dilate at all. And also all my babies being so close together. I’m heart broken that I may not make it to be here for all of my children. Because the “new research” says babies are better to stay in till 39 weeks.
I’ve almost died 3 times.
My babies were not planned by me. But I do love them and have left domestic violence relationships because I was afraid I would die and my children are now safer… but this hospital is just horrible.

Amazing team work and support from the emergency team when I was there at 12:30 AM on Friday 8/09/23. I can never be thankful enough for everything they did to help that morning. I had been to Sunshine hospital numerous time, and I can confirm they care and listen. If people want to know what bad service is, please go to Werribee mercy emergency.

I had my son here. The birth team was exceptional however care following his birth was terrible. We were told he had a dilated kidney which would go away by itself, then at 9 weeks we were told he needed antibiotics or he’d lose a kidney then we were given a script for antibiotics and every chemist we went to said the antibiotics didn’t exist. We then spent 40min on hold to the hospital and eventually were told we had to go there for the antibiotics (after the doctor we saw said they were available at all chemists). This caused us so much stress and put our son at risk.

Worst hospital I've seen in my life. Both parents went in there and both never got out of there. This all happened within 10 months. Don't ever let them put a loved one in ICU. They don't look after you at all and I thought ICU was 1 on 1. My father was fairly old and it was like they just left him there to die. Never get any updates of what is happening. There was hardly ever a nurse there. Absolutely disgusting. On top of all that 2 weeks prior , they had changed his medication which I found out the next time we were in. How can they forget to give you a discharge notice or his medication Changes . It just shows the lack of communication they have or just being too lazy to do there jobs. There is no duty of care in this hospital. Stay far away.

I recently gave birth to my beautiful daughter at Joan Kirner hospital and so thankful for the staff and had a wonderful experience there. Special mentions Dr. Monisha, mid wives Imaan, kaytlyn, Janet, Maria, Zoe, Quinn, Kathy, Anne. My delivery was a traumatic one and everyone was so patient and supportive.

The emergency Department is the worst in all Australia. After I got Diagnosedwith conditions in my skin and Blood during my second trimester in my pregnancy, I Never got any treatment and Results. Let me way for 2 days in arrow without Care plan and medication. Finally I left the hospital and not one noticed. My honest opinion never go to this hospital. Please 🙏 go somewhere else.

I feel completely uncomfortable being at this hospital.. The reception staff act like children. They hang up on me every time I try and reschedule an appointment or ask a question. I have been suffering with HG during this pregnancy and had to go to Hospital at sunshine er unfortunately where I encountered Dr Raj. Who treated me like a drug addict (because I was so sick and vomiting) and asked me inappropriate questions about my pregnancy and appointments... not to mention the staff are inexperienced (I'm a nurse and had to explain to the RN how to use the IV that was in my arm). I've had to go to the women's and children's next door.....its just as bad. not only hanging up on people but again asking inappropriate questions to my husband over the phone! Not allowing my husband to speak on my behalf to rebook an appointment which he has always done for me in Australia. Unfortunately I've lived in the US and our hospitals are turning just as bad as the US ones.. its going to get worse and worse. I will be going to one more appointment to have my files transferred to a different hospital and make a formal complaint about everything I have seen and experienced and I will be making one to the Hospital board as well.. Sunshine is atrocious.. I would not trust one doctor here with the care of my baby or my body during something as delicate as birth. I also don't want the stress of being treated terribly during labour and not being listened to again.
They also spent $200 Million on the hospital site just to employ useless staff... probably should spend more money on staffing then fancy furniture....

My wife went into early labour on the 3rd of July 2023 and our son was born with no heartbeat.
The staff on level 3 provided us with excellent care, support and advice to help us through the worst time in our lives. I can't imagine what they could have done better.

Pretty much useless appointment I just had. I have been prescribed a medication for 3 years. I like many other reviews have said get interrogated as to why I am on it and why to ask for it again. My previous doctor who hardly works there anymore gave it to me. You have the medical records.
I am then given a referral with to a specialist which I never needed before and the document clearly shows the doctor wasn't listening to me based on it contents.

I

I have always found the staff and doctors pleasant and happy to help.

After 9 months and the unexpected arrival of my little girl today. The care and respect we received and throughout has been one of the most amazing experiences I have seen. The doctors, nurses and in particular the midwives. You do not get paid enough, and if you do get paid enough you deserve a hell of a lot more. Always and forever grateful I will never be able to say thank you enough for how we where treated.
Further to my review, reading some of the comments on here. I found it very hard to believe some people’s experiences has been negative, the staff are nothing short of exceptional. Staff who work here are angels from heaven. The best place to have your child, if you have it here you’re in good hands.

Easily worst medical centre in the shire. Now they are no longer bulk billed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Doctors have absolutely no idea what's going on. Half the time they look things up on Google. Repeat scripts will warrant a detective like question to the point where they make you feel like some junkie. It's my mental health meds!

Every single time i need to get repeats of my Antipsychotic medications, I get a 4th degree interrogation, I've taken this for 2 years, it's the SAME, Dr says they can't assess over the phone.. ASSESS WHAT? I JUST NEEDED MY REPEAT, NOT ASKING FOR ANYTHING NEW. NEVER EVER COMING HERE EVER AGAIN. IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD. RECEPTIONISTS ARE RUDE AND THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Do not come here if you are in need of your script being filled. Was turned away at the reception desk as a script for antipsychotics is not considered “urgent” enough to warrant a 5 minute visit with a doctor.

I love Dr Thi Nugyen, she is so attentive and caring. However some of the new ladies at reception are very rude and condescending. I was verbally abused for sitting outside the nurse office. Then was wrongly accused of being thrown out of another clinic by another receptionist (all in front of other patients) the practice manager told me to fax my referals at my local Real eatate agency if I didnt feel comfortable doing it there. I may have cancer and need papers sent to the hospital.
I was left in tears, shaking and totally depressed. Don't go there! Bangor is a better place to go.

My son was a doctor here for 6 months and absolutely loved his time here.

Love Mannun so sold up in Adelaide & bought a house here!

Good care available.

I can’t recommend more highly. Parvin gave me the highest level of professional care in the most loving way.
After the birth of my first son I was so lucky to be under her care seeing as I was emotional and hormonal. The follow up and wealth of knowledge she has were fantastic.

Fantastic practice

Depending which doctor you see will greatly affect the care you receive. I'm no longer visiting this practice as it seems all of the good doctors have now left.
Last few times I went, my shoulder/ neck/ chest pain was brushed off as minor inflammation and was told to take nurofen. Despite my persistence knowing there was something else wrong, I was never listened to.
I ended up getting a second opinion which led to the diagnosis of minor whiplash and fibromyalgia.
Personally, I would only go here for basic medical treatments/ certificates, besides that, I would go to another practice.

Amazing, qualified and helpful staff and they are doing their best to cope with the ever-increasing volume of patients from the fastest growing part of Melbourne. The hospital is old and under resourced in terms of spaces and the number of available beds, but apparently upper management are doing their best to cope.
There are construction projects to expand the hospital which will have finished by 2019. This will hopefully solve some of the problems and address some of the complaints you must have noticed among the reviews here.
My best advice is that if you are able to avoid this hospital, don’t hesitate or think twice.

I've been visiting Flinders Medical Centre for 10 year's now. Starting with Dr Steve Larkin, Dr Doug Gaze then Dr Anthony Miceli. I've always found the medical doctors to be genuinely supportive with a wealth of experience while maintaining the utmost professionalism. The administration staff are friendly and sincere. The Centre itself is always clean and peaceful. With an onsite clean toilet. I highly recommended it to any new patient's young or old, as well as new mother's.

Very great staff and doctors. Love the treatment.

Very disappointed!!!!
I called on a weekday and was told they didnt have an appointment for a new patient until Saturday. When I called on Saturday I was told no new patients can be taken on the weekend. She could clearly hear how sick I was, yet was asked to call back next week. Very disappointing that you turn away sick patients...and twice in my case!!!!
Doctors don't back date medical certificates. I'm a shift worker and I needed a medical certificate for that Saturday. No use to me during the week.
