It's not such a bad thing that this place is all boarded up and you can't take a lift to procure the vista. Stand back and marvel at the dreams some people had. The ability to get it built. Not a lot of people visit so its quite pleasant to walk around the vibrant bush that is now thriving in contrast to mans infrastructure that allows you to post a picture to instagram of a dream with no audience.

Dont expect all towers will be as exclusive as Eiffel Tower, but the Telstra has something to offer.Lets consider to see a communication statue which shows its vertex from every corner of Canberra. If you have time just have a look.
After all, the mountain range beside the tower is also explore worthy.

Iconic to Canberra, the Telstra Tower remains closed with no signs of reopening any time soon.
The drive to the carpark is still open and you can look at the building from the ground level. The carpark is surrounded by mature trees so it is not really possible to view the city.
If you want to see a Canberra icon from the ground, it is worth a quick visit but do not expect anything amazing,

Telstra Tower is currently closed (Feb 2022) and unavailable due to internal maintenance and upgrades, as per their latest update on 29 December 21.

The tower is quite an iconic point within Canberra as it can be seen on the horizon from most locations, and is a useful reference point for directions. The view from the top is becoming a little obscured from the growing trees in the area, but decent nonetheless.

A few walks around the Black Mountain area from here, with car parking available both at the top and bottom of the road.

Great views of Canberra and surrounding region. Offering one indoor viewing area and two outdoor viewing areas. All viewing areas have 360° views. Photos are best from the top viewing platform as it one has a low barrier to easily take pictures over (don't worry it is still safe). Reasonably priced too. Definitely worth a visit.

Great views, and cheap entry at $7.50 at the time of visiting in 2021. There is also a small theatre showing a documentary of the tower construction. Also a section showing the history of telecommunications in Australia. Entry has a Cafe with food, tea and coffee. Well worth going up to the top outdoor observation deck to check out the views. Clean toilets here. Only a short drive from the city centre.

We went up there in the Autumn Season. Never thought of writing a Review. However, with Canberra Floriade approaching, I would like to suggest you going up there to enjoy the beautiful 360 degree Panoramic views when you are in the Capital for the festivals.
