Oi Izakaya used to be our favourite restaurant in Burleigh. We hadn't been for 18 months or so and were disappointed when we returned last night. The menu isn't as good now and the service was pretty ordinary, I suspect, because they are understaffed. I could mention lots of specific issues, but I don't want to be negative. I hope that the restaurant can improve things and get back to the standard that they used to be. Best wishes for that, but I don't think we will be back.
Julia made us feel very welcome. Her recommendations on the menu were spot on. Will recommend to friends and definitely come back.

My boyfriend and I talked about this place a few times, but we always used to forget to go there. Today, we were starving after fasting all day, and we finally remembered it. The best decision we made! Everything was amaaazing, we ordered a plate for two plus the potatoes (the best potatoes ever)! It was more than enough for us; even after fasting all day, we couldn’t finish it! 10/10 ⭐️ We’re definitely coming back again soon!
The best beef brisket I have ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a lot across the globe!! You have to order the beef sausages, Brussels sprouts and pork lardons too. Beautiful pistachio tart too. Highly impressed. Thanks chef!!

Has anyone been to @meatworksco in south melbourne ? I literally stumbled upon this place because I took a wrong turn going to an appointment otherwise I wouldn’t have even known that it exists! That’s my bad cos the food was so yummy!
We ordered the oysters (yum and very well priced 12 for $35), chicken wings (not sure why there are two random carrots in it 😂), the Meatworks platter which is obviously the pièce de résistance - so many different kinds of meats… they are all pretty delicious, but the highlight is the chicken drumstick (smoked), sausages and their pork ribs.
There are some small disappointments though if I had to be brutally honest- the platter, while delicious, was missing something to cut through the richness of the meat. And now that I thought about it, I think they were supposed to be served with pickles… but they must have forgotten it 😢. Thank goodness I did order the cabbage salad w capers, which really helped.
The other small disappointment was the fries wasn’t hot- how I was longing for freshly cooked fries!
Lastly, I am not sure whether it was a very busy night or whether they were short staffed but the tables were not cleared, the bottle of Ajax is left in the middle shared table, water are not refilled. Small things but it all make an impression, a not so good one at that, although the service was friendly enough.
That being said the meat was so good I reckon we will be back again soon- hopefully for a 10/10 experience!

Got the ribs, corn, wings & some chips. Tasty. good portion and priced roughly about market rates (so not overpriced). i'll be back to try other dishes.
That was amazing, I'm so happy i went to Meatworks Co last week and enjoyed there many options of meat. The service was friendly, nice and fast. The different seating areas were also great and cosy.

What a great place. Have try bbq en Texas USA and doesn’t compare to what I tasted today at your restaurant. What amazing food. Another level. Super original first plate of oysters uffffff. The bbq sauce was espectacular. It’s a must in Melbourne. Great job with your restaurant. Love it.
This is a nice little find tucked away in Burleigh. Although more in the pricer side, every dish was perfect and couldn’t fault it. The quality is really good, will be back. Favourite was the sushi and the sushi tacos.

Menu is not as extensive as other yakitori places. They were good although a bit pricey per stick for the quality. We were a group of 6 and were able to seat for weekday dinner after only about 10 mins of waiting.
Looking forward to seeing it after the renovations as it's pretty dated. The food and atmosphere are great 👍

Food itself was disappointing:
- $17 agedashi: tempura batter wasn’t crispy, felt undercooked, also had a weird gelatinous/ glutinous layer encasing the tofu
- $22? Seafood okonomiyaki: pancake texture, minimal cabbage in the batter, minimal ingredients (think there was 4 small prawns)
- $15 cream Philadelphia roll in Panko breadcrumb: pretty plating, but very small pieces & 90% rice, small piece of salmon as imaged. This dish is equivalent to 1.3x the size of a $3.50 sushi roll at sushi hub. Fried breadcrumb was a hard type of fried batter, oddly.
I think I’d be more understanding of the food quality if it was busy, however we were 1 of 3 patrons and this was the standard. I can’t justify the price for the quantity and quality.
Service was nothing special. As other patrons pointed out, they’re all non-Japanese. On their website it’s marketed as a ‘wanna-be izakaya’, it lives up to that. Also provides a loophole when being criticized on non-authentic Japanese dining/experience, which doesn’t sit right with me.
The store is tucked away in an alley along James St, nice wooden interiors with LED lights for the vibes. Does tick the box for a good beer drinking spot, but would not come back for the food. You’re paying overpriced food for the concept not the quality. I think the store would do a lot better if they mastered some basic traditional Japanese food recipes; if not quantity (since it doesn’t fit with the concept of bar snacks), then quality has to be improved.

BISHWAA!! Absolutely EGGcellent chef! Thankyou for making the night the most memorable and enjoyable for all of us, in particular for Ashton the 3.5 year old and my brother and sister in law who had never experienced teppanyaki before! The entire Koo Koo team tonight really made us feel special and looked after from the very beginning until the very end but seriously… Bishwa…. CAN I GET A HOOOOOYYYYEAAAHH???!! You had us captivated, you were so inclusive and your food was delicious!! Thankyou for the laughs and for being part of a family memory we will treasure forever. Good selection of food and drinks. a little bit on the expensive side of things but we went on one dollar gyoza night which was convenient so filled up with 6 plates 😉

I've given 4 stars for the food as some dishes were sensational: the wagyu special, all of the seafood starters, and the chocolate souffle (light as a feather). But I didn't enjoy the flavour of the olives, the potatoes in duck fat should have been amazing but were bland, and the batter on the zucchini flowers tasted oily and bland. So among plenty of hits, there were a few misses. At that price point I expect all hits.
The building is beautiful and the dining room has been very sympathetically renovated. It feels opulent yet intimate.
When we asked to share the souffle for dessert, the kitchen very kindly served us two smaller individual souffles. This was definitely a wow moment, and the perfect serving size after a big meal.

Interesting sports bar that shows a variety of sports, and has a good variety of dishes in their menu to suit most tastes. Relaxed atmosphere, good place to hang out & catch a game. +1 for having Guinness on tap. They get a very international crowd as well.
Great place for yakitori (grilled chicken). All the chicken was perfectly cooked and goes well with alcohol. My fav was heart and gizzards.
We had our staff Xmas party at this venue last night, Jason was our chef and he was amazing. Food was fantastic and we all left very full. A great night was had by all of our workers and their families. Thanks for your service
Good no frills korean bbq place. Seemed popular on a Sunday night bit still managed to get a table straight away as a walk in.
Staff were very accomodating to us and the food came out quickly. Works out to be $40pp. Atmosphere is very typical for a korean bbq place (dark-ish, noisy), perfect environment to drink as well.

The chicken and egg bowl was the best dish in terms of taste and flavours. The other 2 were decent as well - especially the meat - both the chicken and duck.

The exquisite food, the fantastic service, the friendly smiles and banter was exceptional!…it was one of the best meals I have had and a very memorable night!…looking forward to doing it again on that special occasion!
The beautiful ambience of the Mural room was complemented by the amazing food. The pasta with Croatian truffle was a standout dish as were the desserts. Giacomo provided excellent service throughout dinner. Grazie!

Staff brought menu’s over and told us we had to pick our meals. We asked if we could order drinks first and were told no, not until we are at the table we have to order food now. Most restaurants you can order a beer while you wait…
So we chose our mains, and then not too long after sitting and waiting we got to the table and were allowed to finally order drinks which they messed up.
Saki came out, but no beer. Then one beer. We assumed the other must of been coming, By this time (about 30 minutes in, most of the food was already served, I had to ask again for our beers which finally came over but still no water. Had to ask again for water.
By 8:15pm we were all finished our food and they were packing up, a whole 45 minutes since arriving for over $600 and we were ready to go as they were cleaning the grill and needed us to move on for next group. Would of loved to have enjoyed a bit longer dining experience, but I guess they make their money by pushing groups in and out and fast as they can.

Amazing!!! Jason was our chef and he was witty, skilled and cooked the food perfectly! We had the absolute best night, cocktails were delicious and atmosphere was perfect. We were at the early seating with another family and kids all enjoyed it too! If you are staying at surfers you must go!!
I would come back for the tiramisu but thats probably about it. The quail was unexceptionally overcooked and even they tried it for second time, it was still very dry inside. The pasta was great, but thats about it. The dining experience was good though, including the atmosphere and service, just the food itself can be improved. Nevertheless the Tiramisu was exceptionally good :)
4 stars for the overall experience! What a great chef we had and I loved the entertainment. I was however slightly disappointed in the food. It was nice and fresh but I found some of it was very salty and oily- and I love salt so that’s saying something. But I otherwise really enjoyed my time here.
I had a wonderful birthday meal here, and it was one of the best degustations I’ve had. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, and you can tell they work hard to give everyone a special experience. They were also kind enough to swap out the one dish we knew we wouldn’t like for an alternative, which in my experience sometimes restaurants won’t do for a degustation.
The food is seriously good. My favourite from the degustation was the coco pasta with ragu. It was cooked to perfection. They also wrote happy birthday on my dessert plate and gave me a birthday card - so lovely.
I hope to be back one day for another special occasion. Highly recommend!

Really cool sports bar with large food selection, decent draft beers, a full bar, and lots of space. They have an inside area with an upstairs so you have plenty of room with friends.
They have a small outside area if you want some fresh air, big tvs, and very friendly staff. It's our first time in Australia and this place was a great start.

My first time coming here. The staff were rude and unwelcoming, always staring at you and just basically dismissive. The food was cold when we got it and the drinks were so expensive compared to other pubs and wasn’t even that good (used low grade alcohols). The bartenders seemed all over the place no routine. Although, this one security guard was the worst; no professionalism, very abusive behaviour and language, very angry (seemed like he was trying to hold back from hitting you when he talked to you) when dealing with customers. Got physical before communicating showing he didn’t know how to properly deal with a situation in a professional manner. Honestly, the atmosphere just felt stuffy and like a trap house. The staff members just didn’t seem like they cared or wanted to provide good customer service. Would definitely not go here again.
It's worth being there for the atmosphere, and the food was normal good. Nothing extravagant. Juices are really good. However, it's 2023 guys... AND you are in High End shops... and you still have toxic table salt. 🤦♀️ Himalayan salt or sea salt is not even expensive nowadays. Need to up your game.
Attended "Just Friends" social group meeting for first time. Made totally welcome.

Asami Teppanyaki is definitely what they say they are, it’s the place to be!
Our second time dining here at Asami Teppanyaki. We are so amazed by the overall experience again. Food dishes were wonderfully presented with yummy sides and fabulous cocktails. The show experience itself have been nothing but amazing, Chef Jomar knew what he was doing and made sure to keep us entertained throughout the whole experience which we enjoyed a lot! The customer service were professional and have looked after us really well. The venue had beautiful ambiance. The fire from the show was my top favourite of the entire experience besides the yummy dishes!
It’s the most fun we’ve had dinner out in a long time. Really look forward to coming back and dining at Asami Teppanyaki again!

What an experience! My husband and I are celebrating our marriage and was gifted with a good time out at this amazing restaurant. I didn’t know what to expect but I was well and truly blown away!
Amazing food and cocktails, and our Chef was hilarious! My cheeks hurt from laughing so much. The service was impeccable, and they even brought out cute little cakes with a candle for us to blow out, it was a nice touch.

From my experience. The Food was below average. My burger bun was dry and served with a half a Schnitzel. Lettuce were not fresh. Drinks came way too late.
EDIT: I have since heard from the restaurant & our experience was noted by the staff on the night to management also. I had a call from management and they listened and responded beyond expectation to our concerns & experience. The staff and their response has been a lovely surprise. They have proven that they really care about their business and customers as if they are family. I believe that if you attended you would have a 5 star experience and have great faith in this business being true to their word & really being caring in nature. We would recommend the restaurant to anyone considering it based this communication & have adjusted my review.

Visited on Monday night for their Korean BBQ. There is a very good range of meats as well as cooked dishes. The hot plate on each table is huge which allows you to cook faster than you can eat!
A nice selection of Cooked dishes including Soup and an area to make your own Bibimbap. I only wish they had a larger variety of Desserts. Overall, pretty good value at $40pp (if you pay cash).

There are not a lot of food options compared to other buffets we’ve been to. The food itself was alright. Considering what we paid (it was around $30pp for lunch all-you-can-eat if you didn’t select the bbq option) the experience overall wasn’t that bad, but I would recommend checking out other buffet options in the city instead.
Meat are always good here. They are strict about the 90min time allocated. Have not had issued about wastage, they always stress the issue when seating customers. We usually take small portions at a time so never had an issue with it
We just tried this for once and will never return again. Not satisfied with the food. Expected much because of its price but only few choices unlike the other buffet that we use to eat at. No fishcake, japchae is bland, only few desserts and place looks dirty.
Chef here are an absolute riot, keeping us in stitches with jokes and stories. He even pranked us, claiming it was his first day, but he was a total pro! Really awful food that was burnt and over salted, badly presented and all in all not worth the plate. Chefs knew how to have a hit rate of throwing food into peoples mouths 40% of the time. Lighting alcohol on fire and dropping their tools and laughing it off. One menu for food and one for alcohol which they push often and regularly. When asking for water they offered still or sparkling when I said normal water they disdainfully said tap water quite loudly. I can see why they would write their messages in salt, it’s a chef special. Lots of children crying, breaking things and generally just bang things around trying to copy the “chefs”. Give this one a miss.
Place is good, the pizza as well and they have Guiness beer. Only issue here its always is too busy and crowded dont go if would you like to stay chill out cause its too noisy and youll couldnt talk
Lunch buffet is good enough and food is very yummy with Korean food style. I like the noodles with beef very much and chicken wings are good as well! Price is very nice for 20 dollar per person!
Held a baby shower there. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate and allowed us to bring in decorations, cupcakes and cookies etc food was delicious and was very surprised how fast it came out considering they were busy. The scenery and atmosphere is beautiful. Couldn’t fault and we will be back. Thanks again!!!
Probably one of the best restaurants in Melbourne! The food was exceptional; high quality ingredients and unique dish presentation. The location has a wonderful European classic taste, such a wonderful environment and finally the service was on point, the staff very professional and welcoming
Normally here was fine for bar area, but 'the Worst customer service' I ever had in VIP lounge. I went there 04/08 Friday night around 12am. The staff was super rude and also she didn't do her duty.
Great place to watch live sports while having one meal. Just don't try to get in with high visibility not allowed. The food was pretty standard pub food nice and a good serving.
I revisited the place with my friend for the lunch buffet recently. We arrived at 2 pm. We were shocked when we saw 5-6 options of dishes to choose only, and some of them were a few pieces left (not includes salad bar). The fried chicken wing was the only thing we enjoyed. extremely disappointed!!!
Our first time experiencing Teppanyaki - and it was amazing. The chef is so talented and entertaining. We went for lunch (around noon) and we are vegetarians but they didn’t disappoint. They gave us some miso soup and salad to begin and then we ordered some veg teppanyaki and some veg udon noodles. The veggies and Tofu was super delicious. Udon noodles were slightly sweet for my liking but my husband liked it - so guess it is a preference. Overall it was a great experience.

Popped in lunchtime today for a Chicken Turkish Sandwich and chicken wings. Bloody fantastic. In Gold Coast for a few more days so hope to get back there before we leave. You must try the milkshake.
Yakitori Yokocho is one of the newest additions to the many Japanese restaurants at Regents place. My first impressions of the shopfront visually was impressive and love how it looks just like japan.
The menu offers many types of skewers from meats to vegetarian, nibbles and side dishes. Keep your expectations low because the skewers are tiny, expensive and doesn’t taste anything like yakitori from Japan. For an assorted yakitori which contains 4 pre-selected skewers cost $15.90, plus a few side dishes will cost between $25-40 per head.
Small portions, expensive meal will leave you hungry and looking for food elsewhere. Save your money and go downstairs to one of the other Japanese restaurants.

not too crowded the meat 🥩 was tender and the fruit is juicy and sweet. 40 dollars per person by cash and It's look clean. 👍🏻 good job 👏🏻
Had the battered Barramundi and chips that cost $28.50 each. I don't mind paying that much if you get value but the serve portions were an absolute joke. The smallest fillets of fish I've ever seen and a grand today of 12 chips!!

The part which I didn’t like was the ambiance, the dated seats & tables and slightly unappealing interior. I paid close to $300 for 3 people, therefore I expect better surroundings. I would have to say the restaurant needs a renovation or some upgrades. I will probably not return to this restaurant again.
But overall I really loved the food, we had a great time, and the service was up to standard!
If you just got into Gold Coast and you’re looking for a sensational meal plus some table entertainment and you’re not really critical about the interior of the restaurant, this restaurant might be a great spot for you!

It’s a nice place to have a few drinks and some snacks. But if you come here for a meal, I’d say it’s very pricey. Our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 children) spent over $500 for our dinner. Although most of the food we ordered were quite tasty, I don't think it's worth the price. Especially the sushi taco ($13-$15 each) and the teriyaki chicken yakitori ($22 for 2 skewers) were total rip-off.
Cheap buffet with no frills. There were plenty of meats to choose from and sides. The waitress changed our grill plate 3 times. I liked it that you go and choose your meats than have big plates of the same meat served to the table. I would have liked more options of sauces.
We unfortunately got served raw chicken karaage.
This place is overpriced for the quality. There’s much better yakitori places in Sydney. The wagyu was overcooked and quite bland.
The only saving grace was the pork belly, it was cooked well.

wonderful dining experience with attentive staff and timely service. the food offers a unique blend of tastes - we had the salmon & kingfish tacos, edamame (one of the best I've had, love the spice), grilled oysters (yum! first time to try them grilled), miso soup and passion fruit coconut margs. will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

This is a pleasant and busy restaurant in a very quiet mall. The food was pretty good. My kids had the chicken burger and the chicken pasta and they both raved. I had the prawn and avocado salad. While the prawns were fresh and delicious I would have appreciated more of them for the price tag. All up, a good meal.

We booked last minute which was good as we love coming here. Wide selection of food. The chef was very friendly and was able to cook the vegetarian dishes first before contaminating the hot plate with the meat proteins. The drinks are cheap and they have a wide selection wines as well. We ordered a few cocktails and mocktails. Food and service was excellent. We loved the tricks and highly recommend the seafood meal.
The chef has great jokes and throws egg at you that you try and catch. We loved doing this. At the end he wrote upside down and drew a cartoon character that we chose. Amazing service and food!

The location is nice and the service was friendly. I had the Prawn and Avocado Salad. I'm thankful for the slice of lemon included as a dressing because I found the salad to be mild in terms of flavour, I could see what resembled a extremely small amount of feta but unfortunately I couldn't taste it?? Being in Regents Place where good food is the norm, Yakitori Yokocho has fallen way short of the expectations set by other restaurants in the arcade.
To start on a positive note, I really liked the bright colourful decor that made it a nice place to just chill and have a drink with a couple of friends. The waitress who took my order was also quite friendly.
The problems began with the 25 minutes that it took to produce 4 skewers. By that time, we were almost done with our first drink. We actually ordered the same dish again and it once again took 25 minutes, so at least they were consistent! The second issue was the lack of char in general, with many skewers being quite pale. The issue here is that the skewers were likely cooked in a lower heat for a longer time that resulted in some chewy chicken. The one item that I enjoyed was the onigiri that had a char and a balanced flavour.
Overall, I think the flavours were average, execution definitely needed improvement. Service was slow in general and portion sizes were too small for the asking price.

They have a variety of Japanese Yakitori that are not found in most Japanese restaurants in Sydney. The skewers are cooked to perfection similar to those you can get in Tokyo. I like their Wagyu beef, fishcake & chicken liver the most. Price range is reasonable for this kind of cuisine. Definitely worth trying and I am going back again!
The place were cozy, great ambiance, a bit intense on their sound system but was a good one though. We ordered Rump steak Medium rare and Chicken wings in buffalo sauce however it came a bit longer than expected although it was not so busy! The steak served medium well though but the wings was perfectly fine. Good place to visit and we’ll definitely come back.

Food, staff, location and this place has it all fantastic for functions.
Went for an awards night. Horrible food, worst I've had in years. Boiled or steamed all the vegetables, no spices, no seasoning, no sauces. I wouldn't recommend eating there.
Amazing venue for events! Staff very nice and professional and above all flexible to last minute adjustments and requests. BRAVO to the chef - excellent food quality!! Thanks for learning how to make a French terrine just for us, it was amazing!

Brilliant club, refurbished facilities, great service.
Cheers has been a major pit stop for many of us over the years and through it’s temporary evolution of the 80 Proof spinoff, we rediscovered a great underground venue space that hosts a lineup of entertainment from stand up comedy to hip hop crew dance-offs to corporate functions. So it’s nice that it goes back to basics with what we loved most about it - Sport, Entertainment and Hearty food. Currently there is a streak of Asian in some of the dishes which makes sense, but all our old faves are still there.
THE HAWKER PLATE is a mixed grill of pork belly slices and southern fried chicken. Its a great example of how it’s menu has streaks of Asian influence through it, as it shares the board with Thai/Malaysian street style peanut sauced Satay Chicken sticks - a welcome addition.
THE VERMICELLI NOODLE SALAD takes you Vietname with the crunch from the bean sprouts and kick of slight chill and coriander with battered sliced fish through it!
Mate had the NY BURGER: (Quote) "I went the double bacon cheeseburger and wasn't dissapointed. Not my preferred cheddar, prefer the American, but the beef and bacon were good. Bun was soft. Again, my dislike of sweet caramelised onions on a beef burger was apparent to me. Chips although basic were well seasoned.” - I love caramelized onion so this burger would have been up my alley, but I was very pleased with my choice!
Lucky enough to be served by the manager himself, Mark and very personable character with superfast delivery times from the (I peered in) small kitchen! It’s like magic I tell ya!!!
This isn’t just for NRL, EPL, UFC fans as there’s a great mix of sports lovers, carefree and corporates that come through setting a really relaxed and funky vibe to the place!
