If you want to have a good time down at the beach, whilst making friends and getting in some exercise, Republica Social Beach Volleyball is definitely the place to be. Thanks for a great time, and the pizza/drinks at the end!

This is not as big as the beach volleyball complex on South Melbourne Beach but nonetheless it's a perfect place to play and meet other beach volleyball enthusiasts with regulars playing just about every weekend and on public holidays, all year round. The nets are always up and ready to use just bring your friends and ball. There's also a number of cafes close by for a drink or bite to eat.

Great location for volleyball 🏐 in Melbourne

Love it when few friendly people are playing there so that we can Join. Cool beach otherwise. Not too crowded, not too lonely. Can get food nearby. Children play area is there.

If you're a beach volleyball player then what better place to train and/or play volleyball than at the courts right on South Melbourne Beach. There are rows of volleyball courts, ten in total, set-up on the beach and the nets are always up so it's the perfect place to practice/train or have a match (need to bring your own lines and ball).

VicBeach regularly run tournaments and events at the courts on South Melbourne Beach. If you're not a player yourself then come down and watch beach volleyball at it best. It's a great atmosphere.

There is some but limited on-street parking in the area of the beach and a tram might be a better option. The Route #1, East Coburg - South Melbourne Beach tram stops right at the corner of Beaconsfield Parade and Victoria Avenue.

Fantastic place for beach volley players! The nets are always up and ready to use; you can adjust the net height to men or women standards. You have to bring your own lines and a ball though. This place is very popular and has even become internationally-famous among semi-pro and professional players. There are regular events, trainings and tournaments.

The nets are always up at these courts (you need your own lines, as always). People play here at all times through the day and a local organization, Vic Beach, is always having events, trainings, and tournaments on the weekends. Great sand, great location.
