Awful service I just experienced at humane society.

Arrived late for my appointment yes I agree. However I called on my way there because there was an accident on the way. I get to the desk at humane society. The girl at the desk lets me know to have a seat she will let the vet know I’m here.

While I’m sitting for 40 minutes and nobody is coming to tell me anything. I decide to ask a worker who was passing by and she tells me well we will take you when we have a break.

I’m all confused because nobody said anything. So I tell her “I’m sitting here for how long then?” “If I don’t ask you guys have me sitting all day?”

So I talk to another guy at front desk because the girl that initially “assisted” was on the phone. So I tell him I’ve been sitting there waiting for an update and he says that because I arrived late I already missed my appointment and I’d either have to reschedule or wait until they can fit me in during my time there.

No grace period in case something happens he says.

Also no clear communication when I arrived. Why didn’t the girl come back to tell me anything and I’m just waiting there for 45 minutes. It was not busy at all.

He says sorry I guess it was a lack of communication.

I called letting them know I was running a bit late. Life happens.

But not to tell me anything and have me waiting there for my cats appointment. That’s truly awful
We took advantage of Doors open Toronto to visit the Toronto Humane Society. We arrived Sunday just after 10 and were in the second group. Our guide was Peter. He was fantastic. So knowledgeable, interesting and took time to answer every question.

We had no idea the work that goes on behind the scenes. So much thought and care put in before an animal is adopted. The effort the staff put in (many of whom volunteer) is extraordinary! Thank you Peter and the great team at THS.

Brought in my 3 month old kitten at the time to get them neutered. Booking online was smooth; they release the dates on a schedule that you can find on their website so you can plan ahead. Any questions I had, I emailed and they got back to me within the day or two. At the actual appointment, it was first come first serve so the time you book online does not matter, which was fine by me. There was a long line out the back of the centre at 7:30am but was very smooth in getting people in, giving each person a number. They only allowed one person per pet in as it was a very small waiting room inside (inside had seats but most of us were standing) to fill out a form and pay. Pickup was smooth and the staff were all super friendly! Would highly recommend them and support them where you can.
I adopted my bunny, Sylvester, four days ago and it was a phenomenal experience. The facility was quiet and clean for the bunnies, there were staff socializing with them, and they went above and beyond so that I could take my bunny home.
After a couple days at home, I have realized how spicy Sylvester is (in the best way.) He loves to play with his toys, treats, being petted, and he runs up and greets everyone. He's a super social and confident bunny and I'm grateful that he was taken care of by the THS :)
I got my 6 month old kitten. Luna spayed here 3 days ago, and it went great. Everyone was so nice and friendly. She's healing super well doing the normal for 3 days post. Super busy for sure, but it went great and easy. Thank you again
The staff was exceptionally friendly, organized, and responsive. They patiently explained everything, communicated via email beforehand, ensuring a smooth process. I efficiently had my cat neutered, added a microchip, and updated his vaccines—all at a reasonable cost. Wishing for a speedy recovery for my cat. Also, There is free parking at the back of building.
Adopted my little pitbull mix puppy from here. The whole adoption process was great and they have all the supplies you'd need to get started with your pup. I'm in here every 2 weeks buying her food and my ongoing experience with them has been wonderful.
We recently had to have our elderly dog put down. He was having seizures and showed signs of dementia. It was a very difficult time and we contacted the Toronto Humane Society. We made an appointment and when we arrived we were escorted into a private room with a few blankets and a bench. There was also a working electric fireplace. We spent a few moments with our dog and then met the vet. She was kind and thoughtful, explaining each step of the process. She asked if we had questions and then administered a gentle sedative. We were left to hold our good boy and say our goodbye. The vet returned with an assistant. They gave him the medication that would stop his heart. It was peaceful and dignified. We were allowed to spend more time alone with our fellow. Then when we were ready, we left the room and found a candle lit in the hallway to acknowledge our loss. It was beautiful and sad. We are very appreciative of the efforts of all involved.
InceptionU is an incredible educational foundation - I have learnt a lot here. If you're looking to learn, stretch yourself (find out your LifePath) and a rewarding program on all sides, consider InceptionU's two programs: Technology Adjacent program and Full-Stack Developer programs at the top of your list. Really incredible!
I was a studying at Inception U from 2021 March to 2021 August with Cohort 6.

I had a great time with them, the learning is fun and inceptionU team cares about us. I had multiple job offers before I finish the study with them. Truly a life changer for me.

Students have lots of freedom to decide your own learning path, and InceptionU design the learning program as we go. This is my favorite part, I can work on things I am interested and still get support from them. The relationship is not teacher and students, it more like partnership, family and friends. You have full ownership about how you want to grow.

They care us learners by utilizing all resources they have, like inviting industry partners, past alumni, and local community organizations.

Their record speaks for themselves, before my cohort we have classmates working for Sharewoks, Neo Financial, Benevity, basically all the major tech companies in Calgary.

In my cohort, they play a vital role for me to land a job as a software engineer at Google and I have a classmate in the same cohort found a job at Microsoft.

Everything is possible here, highly recommend InceptionU to mid career professionals who want to pivot!
Great group. Very effective.
I was a student in Cohort 7 of this organization. The coding instruction was solid but fluid as there were regular retrospectives from which faculty would modify the tech sessions to best fit the needs and interests of the learners. They also teach invaluable "soft" skills that are applicable in all areas of business professional life beyond tech and coding.

The facilitators genuinely care about their students and will do whatever they can to aid in success both during the course and after graduation. I have attended a few sessions after graduation to update my skills, and I have noticed that each iteration of this course is better than the preceding one as they strive for continuous improvement. If you are seeking to pivot to the tech sector and are looking for a holistic education that encompasses both coding and broader professional skills I would highly recommend this program.
As a graduate of this institution, I have nothing but positive things to say about the education I received here. Their learning sessions have been extremely beneficial to both my professional and personal development throughout the entirety of this program. I have also observed that the staff has a genuine interest in the accomplishments of the students. Because of this, I have a deep sense of appreciation for the fact that I was given the chance to take part in this educational experience.
InceptionU is a fantastic place to start a new career as a web developer or related position in tech.

I learned key knowledge on the workings of the web, industry best-practices, and in-demand technical skills necessary for building software applications. This includes skills for the frontend(React), backend(Express), tooling(Node.js), and database(MongoDB).

The program also included essential personal skill development that has helped me immensely as a team member.

The InceptionU team were very supportive of me in overcoming personal challenges related to energy, focus, and sleep.

After the program finished, the InceptionU team's support was critical in finding a job. They regularly shared positions on Slack, made one-on-one introductions, and encouraged us to be persistent. Within three months, it worked!

This program is a unique opportunity to gain skills, knowledge about yourself, connections, and, if it's the right fit, a new career.

Thumbs up all the way!

Ben
InceptionU is a great place to learn and grow both as a professional and a person. I took the FSD program as a member of cohort 8. The program adapts to individual needs and strengths to provide the most engaging experience possible. The facilitators truly care and go out of their way to help every learner in the program. I fully recommend the program for anyone looking to career transition into development.
I had the great opportunity to be apart of cohort 6 in the six month intensive full stack development program. What I love most about this program is that I didn't just learn how to code and with my team build a really cool application. We also learned essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, team work, agile methodologies, resume building, interview skills, and career planning, to name a few.

InceptionU helped me complete a career pivot from a different industry into tech and I found an job in Feb 2022. InceptionU is doing amazing work and is full of wonderful, caring people!!
I am a current student in Cohort 3 at EvolveU's Full Stack Web Developer program and I can't say enough good things about it. The facilitators have an infectious passion for technology that makes learning both fun and engaging.

The learning is very self directed but I never felt like I was being left behind as they foster a culture of students who help each other over come any obstacle.

EvolveU doesn't just teach coding though, there is a well rounded approach that also includes critical thinking, design thinking, Agile development, and self discovery seminars that have shown me more about myself then I thought possible.

For those looking to make jump into technology as I can't recommend this program enough.

Great job trying to protect animals
I loved to see your commercial. Thank you for putting this very important issue out there. You have my support 100%.
It seems your organization has enough money to pay for expensive advertisement to attack the prime minister.
As far as I'm concerned /and I'm an animal lover, and even saver/ there are more important priorities for the goverment to take care of.
helps animals!
