Visited the planetarium over the weekend. The narrator was engaging and the dome's experience was worth the visit.
Beautiful.

Lost Lagoon is a man-made, freshwater lagoon located at the entrance to Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC. Originally a tidal mudflat, it was transformed into a lagoon for the 1934 British Empire Games. The causeway built at the time isolated the water from Coal Harbour, turning it into the tranquil, reflective lagoon that is enjoyed by visitors and locals today. It has become a sanctuary for various bird species and a peaceful retreat within the city.

This little museum is well worth a visit. As newcomers to Nanaimo, we found it informative and nicely set up. It is family friendly and has a coffee shop right next door. You could easily spend a couple of hours here if you read all the exhibit info.

Went here with my family to see some history about Nanaimo. Very very cool!!! The mining exhibit was by far my favorite with the lanterns they provided aswell as the class room exhibit. Very well done. Took my 2 year old with us and he still found it very cool. Interactive buttons to press asweell. Definitely check this place out! :)
Admission is by donation :)

We actually needed a bathroom (washroom) so snuck into the museum. But we discovered a little treasure of trove of local history. The saddest was the 132 miners who died in a methane explosion in the local mine. Chinese laborer's were registered by their number, not their name. Worth the visit and targeted at all ages. Even the teen in our family grunted that they were impressed.
They do a lot of stuff for the community
Food was very good with big portions. The girls were a little rowdy lol but that was the fun of it! We got there by 8pm and the wine tasting was done and there were not enough vendors. Great concept though for LNO.

Despite the town is not the most touristic place in BC, Nanaimo Museum is a great touristic spot with welcoming atmosphere and easy-going staff.
There is a great section dedicated to the mine industry in the region.
A wonderful venue!!!! Always a positive experience!
Sadly we couldn’t find the nature house so this was disappointing. And no one we asked knew where it was. Better signage could help. I assumed it was no longer operating.
Lots of parking. Clean restrooms with 2 ply toilet paper (the legion is one or less).
Discovery Routes support development, maintenance, promotion and usage of a network of trails across the region, including the Trans Canada Trail section. Options consist of paved, rail trail, remote gravel roads and rugged hiking trails.
Huge park, naturally beautiful. Aquarium is a must visit. Great place for biking and for family picnics
Top.
Beautiful building, comfortable theater, but absolutely the worst parking options. It's a real shame. All of downtown suffers because of poor planning by the city. I really hope the Place des Arts does well but the city needs to step up and put money where it is needed to clean up the downtown to make it safe and accessible.

Beautiful views and building. However very few people of ethnic backgrounds in the club. Not diverse at all.
Food is also mediocre at best, not worth it, especially considering the price!
Went to an orchestra, seating was comfortable, and the atmosphere was excellent. Really enjoyed the show.

This is an incredible organization. The staff are amazing, simply put. I love the events they organize for the community like the annual Sugar Festival and Summer Camps. They recently hosted a ceremony for new Canadian citizens in their beautiful, brand new sugar shack. Thank you for being a wonderful hub for our Vanier community to be proud of! ❤️
Amazing concert venue, fantastic cultural & artistic centre. I am so happy this exists in Sudbury. I hope to see Place des Arts du Grand Sudbury continue and grow for many years.

Easter Brunch was excellent. It was a noisy place but food was great
Didn't even know this place was tucked in the downtown core. Nice venue with a cool list of drinks at the bar. Definitely check out again

Donate and enter. A good place to take a look at the history of Nanaimo's forest industry, sports, mining, etc.. It's nice to have a mission-type program for children.
Beautiful park and the reflection of the lake is stunning. What a scenery of woods, water, and city view combined together along with the bike trails.

Went to there annual steak dinner. As always got a huge steak and all the fixings. I try to never miss this event. Overall a good club that does lots for the community
As a new chef to this facility, I am proud to show my work.
Dont be fooled, we have a kitchen open to the public Tuesday-Thursday 9-4 and Friday 9-7
Hours subject to events with Le Bistro and Place des Arts
This place is such a joke. Who claims to be in business development and takes 300 cookies from a small business and doesn’t hold up there end. No social media shares , no anything. When I emailed - they apologized for me missing them - that’s laughable because I watched like a hawk , and two attending people sharing and yous reposting isn’t holding up your end. So much shame - I’ve learned my biggest lesson in business from people who are supposed to be supporting and helping business. Also was told it was my bad for not taking home a program ? No one offered me one - just the worst experience I’ve ever had and I hope other man don’t make the same mistake.
A great addition to Sudbury. If we want to attract employers to Sudbury we need to be able to offer entertainment beyond a pub to employees. A tourist destination too.
This hideous building is a monument to wasteful spending in the city. $30 million dollars for an arts building? Seriously? I can think of 20 things that Sudbury could use other than $30M ART building. How about new roads? How about a homeless shelter (winter’s coming)? How about getting Laurentian out of it’s idiotic debt so that we can attract students, WHO BRING MONEY, to the city? What idiot green-lit this decision?
Cute spot for kids and curious people like me! You can see and know about all the habitant creatures .
Fun time. Music, food and beach views at this private club.
Fantastic park. Flowers, pond, trees, space for the walk, bike.

Great views.

Very clean.

Mario is a wonderful guide, loved his energy and way of storytelling, very clear in both English and French (even for someone who is not fluent in French). Learned a lot from the tour about the history of maple production and local Vanier history!

Very centrally located. You cannot really miss it.

When we showed up, entry-fees were by donation only, so it can be free if you’re on a budget. The recommended donation is also only $2 per person which is probably unheard-of for any kind of exhibit these days.

We enjoyed learning a bit of history before further exploring the rest of Nanaimo. It definitely had some quality / well-maintained exhibits.

I would say this is a must-go for anyone visiting nanaimo for the first time if they have 45-60min to spare. Or even 30min if you want to quickly skim thru.
Thank you to Megan at Barrie Chamber of Commerce. She was extremely helpful and very friendly. I appreciate your assistance.
Great business full of wonderful people!

Definitely a good place to go especially on the raining day. Really interesting to know the Nanaimo Chinese’s history, in the early years when the mine exploded, all the Chinese labour who died in it , doesn’t even have a name in the history record list. ..Know the history and Know your rights!

We saw Juggle Me Not in the park in 2021. It was absolutely fabulous, bursting with humour and energy. Thanks Axis!
Very helpful and friendly staff that truly cares about helping local businesses succeed. What's more, they stay relevant and understand the benefits of collaboration through the use of social media and other modern tools. If you're a business owner in the Simcoe region, it would almost be SILLY not to give them a call, and see how they can assist you.
If you're all at home and want to get out go for a ride on your bike or a walk or a jog and you will see a different side of North Bay that you have never seen.its beautiful.
The Barrie Chamber of commerce is a great association to have your business to be part of not only do the advocate for you but they offer a lot of networking opportunities learning opportunities and keeping our businesses informed on the latest issues, covid-19 and much much more!!

We only visited Writer’s Way. An amazing tribute to some important members of Canada’s french communities. Looking forward to returning.
Can anyone share what this was originally?? (The small sealed off cave/cellar directly on the trail)

Stay well everyone, wear a mask!
Back to the Balmy Beach Area in the middle of January. The 15th of 2021. Wow I have never seen this area and beach during the winter. Always wondered each spring why the sand is so high and up so far near the beach club. Now today I have finally seen the true power of the waters around this area and it pushing debris and sand further up near the beach club. Even the sound of the water can be heard for miles.

Love the views at and around Kew Balmy Beach Club. Amazing sights from the patio. Friendly staff and all around great place.

Beautiful and pastoral place. Many animals roam the paths like geese, squirrels and ducks. There are benches and shaded areas. There are public washrooms in the area. Highly recommended.

Love walking there. A bit of country in the city. Beautiful parc. Kid friendly with structures for them to play.
I need to express how beautiful, stunning and awestruck I am right now, having just walked home from the annual Barrie Santa Claus parade./tree lighting/fireworks display!!! This, simply put, was beyond my expectations and I want to thank each and every member of your organization for a job well done!!! And Merry Christmas to all of you

Absolutely amazing. I loved each exhibit. My 10-year-old daughter was blown away by how far we've come as a people. We could see the indigenous peoples' canoes; the early settlers' fun competitions (the bathtub boats), school rooms, stores, and even wedding gowns. We got to see a mine that gave us chills, and so much more. We will definitely be back!
