A lot of homeless people are down in that area but still it's a nice little spot if you feel like going to relax and just contemplate. Nice library

When I was a kid we lived down the street from the York Cenotaph at 2677A Eglinton Ave West and this was back when you got the day off of school to attend the remembrance ceremonies which my brothers and I always did. The attendance by WW1 and WW2 veterans and the formal ceremony of the laying of the wreaths (which would remain for several weeks afterwards) and pipe and drum band plus the reading of "Flanders Fields" always made us feel the loss and sacrifice that those being commemorated had made. Beside the cenotaph is York Memorial High School which was built to help deal with the great loss that survivors were struggling with. I hope that memorial lasts forever given the symbolic importance of its meaning.

Central Memorial Park is truly beautiful and a warm reminder of those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Beautiful, well thought out location, an area you can really enjoy and tour through. It has good signage for where to start touring around. And also has 2 pokemon gyms and a pokemon stop is that's at all important to you.

Very well put together memorial for those that have fought and lost their lives for the safety of others. Fighting for peace seems like an oxymoron but these people put their lives on the line for people all over the world who were facing injustice.
A very well maintained park right in downtown. Beautiful flowers, fountains, and light fixtures right by the historic library. An excellent summer destination spot
This symbolic stone from Poland is a fitting metaphor for all the Polish immigrants who came to Canada to build a new life. This memorial fits in very nicely with the other tributes for immigrants from other countries that can be found in this corner of the Halifax waterfront. Indeed, the collection of monuments gives this part of the city a diplomatic feel.

Several small monuments and plaques to commemorate the Raid of Dieppe as well as other wars during WWI and WWII. Very beautiful park and garden.

One of Windsor’s many beautiful parks.
It’s a lovely park, but being in inner city and across from Sheldon Shumir it will always have some homeless population in the area. Still beautiful though.
A Polish memorial set up to all the Poles that immigrated to and helped develop and create the different wonders of Canada. Definitely a must see for those by Pier 21.

Very beautiful park (particularly now that the protests no longer seem to happen here on Saturdays). Sometimes they throw a stage up just behind the library and have concerts! Was very cool to watch my friend and colleague Deborah Nyack play harp here with a few other musicians. Come for a picnic and enjoy the sunshine, or just walk around and admire/read up on the war memorials. Enjoy! :-)
A lovely cenotaph with a moving inscription.

Beautiful place for reflection
Love this park and the library. Innercity could use more of that.. the grounds keepers do a marvelous job keeping the grounds clean and vibrant.

Only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is because the Sheldon Shumer Hospital has a safe injection site so the grounds can be crawling with meth heads or heroin addicts even during the day not a very good spot to stop with your little ones!
This rock is a vital piece of our dark history and a vital lesson in this city, however it should never have been moved. No politician should have a say about it's location.

I was surprised how easy to miss this rock. It’s just in the middle of the road….. I went there to see Irish heritage but missed it in my first try. Feeling bad for Irish people and hoping there will be a museum for it.

What a beautiful, well kept peacekeeper park memorial. There was so much will laid out information with beautifully done caricatures of every person on well laid out walls.

Keep up the good work.
Thank all of you for your service.
Malton Cenotaph was built to honour the war dead of Malton and the surrounding regions. It's commemorate the lives of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Got my 2nd covid-19 shot by North York General at Seneca College.
I was at Seneca College's Newnham Campus for the vaccination clinic, run through NYGH. Very well organized, parking is free in front of the sports complex. Enter no earlier than 10 mins. Before your scheduled appointment. Shots are very quick and essentially painless. Was happily surprised. Was in and out within 30 mins.
That's a nice campus with multiple equipment and student friendly mentors.

Make sure you visit August 19, in the morning. Every year they have a very well done and respectful service to commemorate the sacrifice made on the beach at Dieppe France.

It actually gets pretty crowded. Also, the memorial has an interesting feature. If there’s a clear sunny day, during the time the Canadian soldiers occupied the beach in 1942, the sun shines through the memorial on to the maple leaf on the ground. It’s an interesting effect and a rather clever way to memorialize the event.

Get there early. Parking can be tight. There’s plenty of parking around, but it might mean having to walk several blocks.

Peaceful green place in the middle of busy Angus. It's not kids park, but rather a place to have an outdoor meal that you can buy from the nearby plaza. The park is very informative, and leaves you with a deeper impression on the sacrifices that Canadian soldiers made during "peace" operations. The signs are complemented with meaningful quotes on war and peace.
As mentioned by the previous reviewers, the disadvantage of the park is that it's lacking washroom.
Great campus. Can get busy during the rush but overall fun and some great places to study.
A must see in Halifax!

Great park with lots of info on Canadians KIA on UN missions and in Afghanistan. Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and in missions in behalf of our country.

Great park memorializing many of Canada's peacekeeping missions around the world. There are several armored personnel carriers on display, as well as small bunkers to play in. The large memorial wall lists many of the veterans who have lost their lives on these peacekeeping missions. The paved trail through the trees and vehicles is well maintained, as is the free parking lot.

If you play Pokémon Go, there are 2 pokestops and a gym all within reach of each other.

One of my favourite parks in the downtown core! Great for all ages! The water feature is a fabulous splash area for babies all the way up to school aged and is often not busy at all! The gardens are well maintained and there is a public washroom, restaurant and library on the site.
For anyone interested in Montreal's Irish heritage, this is a must.
Alongside bthe road not the best place for a memorial, should be moved to the revitalized Griffin Town
Beautiful monument

It's incorrect. Tha black monument pictures are memorial of Dieppe Raid known as red beach. This is not the silver cross memorial.
An Irish monument to the many thousands who died attempting to escape the Great Hunger in Ireland. Over 6000 dead are marked by this headstone
