It was easy to find with ample parking.
People use the property to do drugs. Had somebody blow the smoke from their meth pipe at me as I walked by. There's a playground for children across the street which makes it even worse.
Always there to help when you need it
I went there because I had no funds to buy food. They treated me with kindness and understanding, which seems to be lacking in some of society today..
I can still go back once more for the food bank.
And they served a very nice healthy lunch.

Good daily meals here. Please allow more than one visit per month for the food bank for users that live within the service area.
Lady on the counter is very helpful. They give fresh food and hot meal. God bless to all who's helping in this initiative.
When I was new to town, didn't know much about resources, Sharing Place was welcoming. Great staff. They were so helpful, understanding.
They accept donations at anytime during the year.They are extremely efficient and welcoming. Once people get to view the whole operation you will appreciate the need for donations. The people that run it are wonderful, welcoming and just plain nice people.

Open monday, tuesday, friday for food bank. Lots of stuff, even cats and dogs food available. Today i got $25 loblaws card for free groceries. There’s always some wait time as there are many people before you. Coming earlier than 12 helps to be first few in waiting line

It was a long wait due to everyone being poor but like myself I receive $826 a month and just my rent alone is$720 my banking fees are almost $20 per month and I am at 20% lung capacity but not sick enough for disability two back operations numerous injuries over my life if it wasn't for the food bank me and my 😺cat are nibbling threw the month 😒
Jesus, the staff at that place now are so intimidating and do not show any compassion towards the homeless.

The sharing place is the best place to get food for people who need it the sharing place is fantastic you couldn't ask for anything better and I don't think every city in Ontario meets the standards like the sharing place does and the staff even though they're donating their time for free it's the best place ever if you haven't been there I suggest you go there God bless

Love this food bank, its reliable and Stagg is usually friendly.. sometimes they give you expired or rotten food though...theres no exchanges and of you get a large portion of bad foods it leaves you without or needing to get to another food bank sooner
One of the ladies ho is volunteer was verry rud to the line-up at 12 a clock September 9th 2023. I was one of the people and I am verry upset.

First time going I felt very welcomed and not judged. The volunteers are all super friendly, especially the ones that remember me each time I go in. Was very surprised with the abundance of food we were given, and the actual process is very smooth.

The most amazing all in one community hub in the area. This is a non judgement all welcome atmosphere where people from the area can come and have a hot meal, get help with food assistance or seek guidance from one of the many helpful staff that are trying to do whatever they can to remedy a situation. This center is based primarily on kind hearted volunteers who give their all to make what could be a stressful situation a positive one while their visiting. So, whether anyone is in need of a hot meal, or an immediate shortage of food. This is the place. Yes, it is not massive, but it packs a strong foundation and offers programs that really do make a difference in someone’s everyday life. Check it out, research it online, or even volunteer a few days a week and make a difference in someone’s life.
Staff are OK breakfast was good and the sleeping bag they gave e me just got stolen on the weekend and just finding out they may be connected back to earlier times in Mt life

The service is pretty good and I recommend everyone to try it out
I barely got anything from there when I went, I was very disappointed, I have been to other food banks and I've gotten more than enough; this one not very good at all! I got maybe 2 cans a box of eggs some bagels 3 carrots 1 pepper 1 mister noodle's, and couple of granola bars. Very disappointed
I understand now that The Mission is a melting pot, a place where people from all walks of life and cultures with different life problems converge.
It would make sense that there'll be misunderstandings so to whoever is spending time there, I advice to be positive and respectful to all; residents and staff for your own wellbeing 😉

This will be the 5th occurrence where this food center has handed out rotten meats to a person in need with their food order. Tried to rectify the situation 3 x now with the staff and it still keeps happening. Clearly they are not paying enough attention to detail here. How many people are you sending bad meats home with???? If you want to be didsapointed when you go to cook your family their meal with the meats they provide you then I'll gladly suggest the sharing place. Not happy guys!!
Very nice bunch of people who run the meals and cook them for everyone theyre open everyday for 3 meals a day but closed only once a week nothing on sundays
Staff are very rude usually. Fresh food get there but it is taken and stolen by staff members and never seen by the people that need it. I see fresh fruits come in but it's taken by staff.The food that is cooked is really bad even dogs would have a hard time eating this.They pick and choose who they want to help. very discriminatory and racist place to ask for help. I do not recommend this place. They give a hard time with ttc and services it's money in the toilet with this place. The place seems corrupted. Staff is not monitored.The place used to give out decent meal for the needy but after pandemic it has gone to the pits. Food has disappeared.
10/10 staff members + its a positive experience every single time. People there truly want to help. Can't recommend this place enough.
Great place for free services such as taxes for individuals who made under 40 thousand i appreciate there help the area is a far location way in the east end of the city and kind of hard to find but while i was here there was a receptionist she said she use to work in law honestly she the long trip worth it and i wish i got her name because she seemed really sincere respectful and not much people are like her i just wanted to thank her for her kindness

Who ever is answering your phone needs a hearing aid and to stop repeating herself and actually listen to what the person on the other end is saying. It like you trained her but only gave her 1 line
Always liked Salvation Army. A good place to go in a pinch for certain family needs ! They will help if they are able.

Such amazing community to have such amazing groups like Saint Vincent. They offer more than welcoming hearts & food + clothing / well needed items.

I give them a 10 out of 10 !!donations are always welcome over there so if you have any free items that you want to get rid of St. Vincent is the place that I would recommended.

I am very happy with the staff, accommodations, and facilities. I travel from Toronto to visit this property and program every Saturday to see my daughter on a weekly. I am thankful and greatful for their accommodations. Much appreciated 🙏

If I am staying in Ottawa again I will definitely be booking here.
Although my kids did not enjoy the accommodations. Only real con was no Indoor pool and having to leave my room at seven for a bed check, general population was a little crowded.

The ppl they have operating the truck are racists and bigotts that think it's ok to abuse and put down there clients and some of them have used the words stupid cracker along with other words, the office thinks this is ok.......

What can I say about the Salvation Army they help you they give you spiritual guidance you're fantastic organization if it wasn't for them a lot of people want to be in a bad way right now so thank you Salvation Army.

What a wonderful organization for seniors and the community
I signed up for family counseling in November 2019. 3 years later...I am still waiting for help. My family keeps getting pushed to the back of the wait list for one reason or another. But the main reason seems to be a staff error and my family is paying the price. I wish matters were handled more professionally and hope to one day recieved support, but I'm no longer hopeful.
Some of the kindest people I have ever met. The driver I relied on, to drive me back home, left me stranded downtown. I had no money, and no one to call for help. I walked to the mission, they were beyond kind, everyone that spoke to me was so nice, they even gave me a water bottle likely because I was extremely anxious, and overwhelmed. They got me a taxi voucher, and I got home safe. Words can't express my gratitude. Thank you so much.
The people here are excellent. They really try to help when you have had a set back or even if you just need someone. It is for everyone. Thanks SVDP.
I attended a program called "Seeking Safety" a couple of years ago. I had high hopes that it would actually help me learn to cope with my PTSD. I only made it through three sessions before I felt so uncomfortable and triggered that I couldn't bring myself to go back. It's a real shame because the Seeking Safety curriculum is so highly praised for being evidence-based and effective at treating PTSD. For some background information, I'm transgender and I have both physical and developmental disabilities that require me to use a wheelchair for mobility. I felt very vulnerable in the group and didn't feel safe or supported in those two fundamental areas of my personhood. I think Carya as an agency could really benefit from some training on how to support LGBTQ+ and disabled individuals.
Very nice people thank them for doing what they do for us all the time cause they volunteer they dont have too actually be there they choose too so again I thank you for not just myself but for everyone

Great place to meet up with friends, get some free needed clothes, and other necessities. Always a kind place to be. People can go to enjoy coffee, lunch, and emergency food pantry, which is very easy to access.

So much better than Martha's. You're really treated like a human here and I didn't get food borne from their roast dinner unlike Martha's.
CARYA is a fabulous place and caring people who genuinely help children and families.
One of the very best things about Kingston is its Social Conscience. This active Charity doubles as a Food Bank, Donation Centre and Thrift Centre.
Something kind of bizarre about this place. First. 20 year old girls yelling at men 3 times their age. Evictions just after a few months just for not getting welfare. Because this place gets kickbacks? Calling police for any stupid thing with staff. One guy rightfully said that this place is publicly funded and he had a right to be there. Cops called to take him out. And he was sitting quiet. Staff here are deluded and think this is some sort of holy place. Human rights abuses. Lawyer time. And asking for a persons medicine. The name is on the label and the pills belong to that person only. Not the mission. This place over extends itself into our lives here and the staff think that they have a right to control every aspect of a person. Nobody has that right.
Maintain your pride in this well-attended food bank. Hampers are available to residents in the catchment area once a month, but breakfast (9:00 - 10:00) and lunch (12:00-13:00) is available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Bring your identification (I used my drivers license with my old address and a PDF of my phone bill with my current address) to the super-friendly volunteers at the reception desk. They’ll issue you a member card good for the year to collect your hamper. Volunteers and staff members are sensitive to dietary restrictions and observances. Status update: 2021-09-20 the breakfast and lunch programs are on hold due to the COVID-19 protocols. Too bad - this was an awesome service for the community. Please get vaccinated so we can eradicate this virus and get back to community meals! Please note there are a number of other programs available for the community to access. See thestop.org for full details of programs at all three sites. Finally, a special shout out to the staff and volunteers who make The Stop a welcoming and inclusive experience.
This non profit organization has over 100 years of good work for the community. Lots of people benefit because of their delicated good work and effort.

Dropped off a bag of clothes. The guy was so thankful and positive. He said that they've been there 29 years but no one knows about it, so I'm trying to spread the good word.

As a past student I gotta say this school fails on a lot of fronts. Their only good side is occasional hiring of competent and compassionate teachers. For a long story short situation I had frequent issues with counselors being dismissive, teachers being relentless in their torment, and almost always a lovely little run in with peer provided violence. I was brushed off as a bad kid and stuck in an alternate program where kids punched walls while using substances and teachers had lost drive to even try and help these violent youths. PCSS is not a great place for the outsiders. It spits them out very quickly and I believe if your family has any quirk or strangeness to it your better off enrolling them in online schooling.

Community Center that offers a library, gymnasium drop-ins, and classes. There's also a full-size gym and dance studio.
Great place to come and grab a bite to eat, enjoy people's company and take home free items for your home/wardrobe. Also, an amazing place to donate your time (or items unwanted from your home) to help out in the community. Welcoming staff, wonderful volunteers and all around great people.

Love this place open 9am-1pm. They serve a free lunch i think everyday. They have food bank like service as well as clothing, houseware, toys and more all free for those in need. They are kind and do there best to accommodate everyone.
This small and unassuming community group provides food, clothing and support to over 50 people in a community that is generally thought of being well-off.
Great help and service. I arrived two hours early for my tax prep appoinment and they were able to see me right away. The asian woman who did my taxes was quick compared to other places i've been to like H&R. Will definitely be doing my taxes with them from now on.
