A really interesting building with some stunning architecture. This is the Canadian equivalent of the flat iron building and this is a really cool site to visit and get some great photos at.

Interesting and beautiful building. Don't have to go all the way to it, but when in the area, don't miss it! 😊

A beautiful place and important symbol of country and our democracy.

The ongoing renovations severely hampers the experience as cranes disrupt the views and the whole area behind centre block is inaccessible, but these things are part of progress and I look forward to it all being finished
Massive structure of building with architectural facade. It’s connected of three buildings. West, east n centre core of building. This building has undergoing of renovation work. I just walked around that building. I didn’t enter into the building. Definitely people coming here and visit this historic building.

The Gooderham Building, also known as the Flatiron Building, is a historic landmark built in 1892, this iconic structure is renowned for its distinctive triangular shape, resembling a flatiron, hence its nickname.

Standing at the intersection of Front Street East and Wellington Street, the Gooderham Building is a stunning example of Victorian architecture. Its red brick facade, intricate terracotta detailing, and ornate cornices make it a visual masterpiece that stands out amidst the modern skyline of downtown Toronto.

Originally serving as office space, the Gooderham Building has become a symbol of the city's rich history and architectural heritage. Today, it houses a variety of businesses and is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

Visitors can admire the building's exterior from the street level or venture inside to explore its charming interior, which features elegant staircases, arched windows, and vintage decor.

Whether you're a history buff, architecture enthusiast, or simply looking to capture a quintessential Toronto landmark, a visit to the Gooderham Building is a must. Its timeless beauty and historical significance continue to captivate visitors from around the world.
This building has one of the best views by getting a vintage look around some great buildings behind. There should be awesome clicks coming around this building.

Parliament Hill has a fascinating allure. During our days in Ottawa, we often found ourselves here, relishing the atmosphere and using the surroundings for leisurely walks. For those visiting in the summer, it's essential to check if the laser show is happening. The event is free to attend and provides a beautifully presented overview of Canada's history.
Went for kid's Birthday brunch, love the food and service

The capital of Canada, this area is perched on a hill that overlooks the city, skyline and river. Nice place to walkaround and see the nice government landmark buildings. There is a park nearby that people run, have picnics and just enjoy the nice weather (when there is nice weather). There is also a fire thing in the middle, not sure if that symbolizes anything.

Great landmark to take photo of,Built in 1892 and designed by David Roberts Jr., it is recognizable for its distinctive wedge shape, which lends it the name “flatiron”.
Also the St. Lawrence market is less than 5 min away, I recommend to check that one as well!

One of the most beautiful and picturesque parts of the city. Canadian Parliament Buildings, built in revival Gothic Style are standing proudly atop the hill since the mid-nineteenth century. These buildings are the crown jewel of the cityscape. While a significant portion is currently undergoing extensive renovation and restoration, limiting tourist access, the surrounding park offers a haven of beauty.

Despite the construction, immerse yourself in the serene surroundings, capturing the essence of the historic structures in hundreds of captivating photos. Explore nearby culinary delights at food joints, basking in the sun-drenched atmosphere.

For those eager to delve into the rich history and architecture, consider pre-booking a guided tour. Unfortunately, we missed out on tickets during our visit, but it's firmly on our agenda for the future.

Worth visiting while in Ottawa. Amazing architecture. Great view of the city and canal from the hill.
Renovation in main building are ongoing. Parking nearby coins be an issue. Waking to parliament is much better and you won’t miss anything.

Parliament Hill is the centerpiece of Canadian history. It is clearly a fortress as well as the seat of the Canadian government. It's a beautiful Park and is rich with architectural gems and state sculptures. It is the best place in the world to see the July 1st celebrations with fireworks and pageantry. If You get a chance, stay beside Parliament Hill at the chateau Laurier for the full historic effect. And take the path way down to the river beneath The cliffs to see its military location as it defends itself from onset the Ottawa River.

Gorgeous views, lots of history here! It's a very memorable experience that I'd recommend to anyone with the chance to visit Ottawa, the canal nearby is also a great spot for photos especially on a nice day! A good chance for a bike ride, which I'd recommend over taking the steep steps

Very important notice: two of the towers in the parliament hill are under construction till 2026. Make sure you book tours on their website in advance, and be there much earlier.
Great place to visit, magnificent buildings.
The atmosphere here is very nice.
Serving and staff are very well put together, and very nice.
Had lunch here as a group an we were very impressed.
The food portions are very fitting and the quality is up there as well.
I would say their fries are a tad bit under done and over done at the same time.
Like the oils not hot enough.
Plus they also taste way to oily, like they have never rested.

Beautiful! Rich in history , under conservation proyect, so will have to be careful. Take the time to explore and enjoy the marvelous work and take pictures, busy during the summer with lots of tourists. Try to be courteous as everyone wants
to have a picture of the beautiful building like castles. Happy travels!
Wow what an experience! Heads up, there is no parking. I have to park a mile away on the street and feed a meter. There is a ton if construction and renovations in the surrounding areas so be careful and plan ahead to walk. This is not a drive up to the door and park ordeal. You will have to walk. Amazing architecture and beautiful design. Absolutely beautiful and well worth the visit.

First time to Ottawa, we booked tours of the east and west block buildings. Both were very informative. We also went to the light show at night which was actually really amazing. Beautiful grounds and buildings, even during construction/renovations. I would recommend a trip here.
Loved capturing wedding photos here. Beautiful spot in the heart of downtown Toronto!
We stopped by to see the light show that started at 930pm. We were very impressed with the show. They were many people there yet it was still easy to see the event that was projected onto the parliament buildings. There were many police there and they made the area feel safe. Overall I would highly recommend making the effort to see this. We even managed to park relatively close for free
Although the main building is currently being renovated you can still tour the House of Commons and the Senate. Tours are free, each building has a separate tour. You can book your tour time online, which I highly recommend, as they were turning away people without advance tickets when we arrived for our early afternoon tour because all of the tickets for the day had been booked. Tours start from the visitors center and you will have to go through a security screening in which all loose and metal objects must be put through a scanner and you must walk through a metal detector - similar to airport security. Allow time for the security lineup or you might miss your tour. Bag size is strictly limited - check dimensions online before coming for your tour.
Once inside you proceed to the waiting area until your tour is called, where there is plenty of comfortable seating, restrooms and a gift shop. You will come back through the same room following your tour, so wait until you return to shop.
We had a lovely tour guide, Mireille, who was fluent in both English and French and had a thorough knowledge of the architecture, history and trivia related to Parliament - there was a quiz (just for fun).
There is no parking at Parliament, so you will need to park at a public garage or take transit (there was a bus stop directly opposite).
The tour for each building lasts about 45 minutes and you will be standing and walking the entire time. There are accommodations and options to borrow a wheelchair to use if you don’t think you can stand for so long.
A very interesting and educational tour - highly recommend!

Amazing landmark of Toronto to take a picture. The building’s design is very unique and I haven’t seen one like this before. There is paid parking close to here.
I lovely reception with the association of former MLA‘s and former Members of Parliament. Great talking to people who have served their communities in so many different ways. Looking forward to the next one.
Adjacent is the town gazebo from the Gilmore Girls series. Nice spot to take pictures.

Went in to have a look as part of Doors Open. While the exterior is preserved well, the building has had to change with the times and many rooms modernized blandly for office use. Also many areas locked and not available for viewing. Rather than lamenting I suppose I should be glad that at least some of this historical building still remains in its former glory.

Usually not open to the public as it is actually an office space. However, I got a chance to visit during Doors Open Toronto 2023. The house looks nice from the outside with a pretty small garden. The first floor has been beautifully restored, and one can see the dining room and the study. However, all of the rooms on the upper floors and the basement are either empty or used as office spaces. It would have been nice if they preserved a greater part of the interiors and opened it as a museum. Nevertheless, I am glad to see the house overall being preserved and actively used.
I went for a tour here, it was very nice

The Gooderham Building is a historic landmark located in Toronto, Canada. It was built in 1892 and is known for its unique flatiron shape, which makes it an iconic feature of the city's skyline.
One of the most notable aspects of the building is its architecture. The Gooderham Building was designed by David Roberts Jr., who was inspired by the Flatiron Building in New York City. It features red-brick cladding, intricate stone detailing, and a series of rounded arches that give it a distinct Romanesque style.
The interior of the building is just as impressive as the exterior. The lobby is adorned with beautiful marble floors, ornate plasterwork, and a stunning stained glass skylight that filters natural light into the space. The building's elegant details and historical charm create a unique and inviting atmosphere.
The Gooderham Building is a prime example of adaptive reuse, as it has been repurposed several times throughout its history. Originally, it served as a head office for the Gooderham and Worts Distillery, one of the largest distilleries in Canada. Today, it houses a variety of office spaces and retail stores, making it a vibrant hub of activity in the heart of Toronto.
Overall, the Gooderham Building is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Toronto. Its stunning architecture and rich history make it a true gem of the city.
For sure my new summer brunch spot !!
Very unique food and brings out flavourful plates.

Love how they have mimosa deals !!

Can't wait to go again

For sure worth it and very aesthetic picture perfect 🥰 💞
Collection of small stores and the restaurant, Next Door. We had a yummy & filling breakfast of buttermilk pancakes with cream & egg yolk😊

This is a seriously fun place to go if you are a senior. We had a party of four and a private tour. The guide was terrific, and the tour triggered fond memories for us all. It's out of the way, but that only adds to the fun. Although it is closed to the general public, you can give them a call for a private tour.

A unique, historical and beautiful location in the heart of Toronto. Features include an architecturally significant building dating back to 1829 and beautiful and tranquil gardens with several areas to sit and take in the surroundings. Large wrought iron fences surround the area and cobblestone drives are a wonderful feature. Large trees offer shade and one would not feel as though they are in the heart of a large metropolitan city.
We like the food here, the Calplinni and Bake Salmon are the dishes we tried this time. Both dishes are tasty with great presentations. Service are great as well. We booked the table online at 3:30pm on time and supposed to got a late brunch at the weekend. However being sitted we found the breakfast were ended at 2:30pm and only dinner would be available at that time. Would comeback for the brunch next time.

Well, to be honest this was a hard to rate. We only seen the outside of the bunker. So please note that this is ONLY a HALF rating.
We spoke to the workers as they were leaving and they were closed to the public for renovations. We how ever had had a friendly chat and we almost seen the entrance of the facility. - last person exited and just closed the doors when we discussed looking inside the doors. Bad timing ....lol.

Super friendly. Maybe next time we will see it open, and give a full rating. See you guys next time.
I went to ND resturant- next door resturant. Service is good, place is clean . Most important is not noisy, I have a girl's night gathering there, can have small talk and relax.

Had a family dinner 🍽 in the old stone house. The 2 ladies that greeted us were fantastic people. They were both well knowledgeable about the past of the house. The food was fantastic and fresh. It was locally grown vegetables and the desert was cooked in the wood fireplace. I cannot say enough how pleasant they made the experience. I highly recommend for everyone to at least try it once. Thank you for the amazing time.

I can't believe I passed by this beautiful place and never realized what it held inside! This building has a gorgeous library and it's full of paintings of past treasurers, each with their own unique touches! There's a dining hall thats been used for over a hundred years with short little seats because people were tinier back then. Come in for a treasure trove of Canadian law history :)
We did the laser tag and the historic tour, and we thoroughly enjoyed both activities. The laser tag experience was by far the best I've had. The different games and gun options were new and exciting. The historic tour was interesting and informative. We're looking forward to going back and trying out the escape rooms.

It's a cool, historic house to see, inside it is left as it would be from the late 1800's. Can see the rooms, and go to the basement to see what it was like. Very cool down there, nice on a hot summer's day. On display are heritage and vintage items that belonged to that era.
The are tours for this house but when I was there it was closed I had the opportunity to look around outside and the house is very nice.

The gardens also around the house are nice to visit

Laser tag, War Games rooms (see if you can save the world from nuclear destruction). Take a tour through a piece of history. Very interesting place, worth a visit. It was a cold war bunker from 1957 until the early 90s when it was decommissioned. This is the only Bunker from that era that is open to the public. There were 5 other identical bunkers built at the same time. We started a summer event this summer(2023) called "We Are Ready" with a variety of games as well as a live band " No Mad Sky". This event was so successful we had a second one " We Are Ready - Reloaded" with a 50' slip and slid down the bunker hill. That was a big hit with everyone.

Very beautiful from the outside! The trees are absolutely lovely and the old design and floors were a sight to behold. One of the cooler architecture pieces of Toronto as it was designed more than 100 years ago! Definitely a treat to have explored it during doors open Toronto, as it was a great cultural experience and a fun one too! Definitely recommend!
It's a beautiful historic house that is well maintained and so very interesting to visit. If you ever have the chance defiantly take a tour! The Guild was amazing. I visited threw Doors Open Winnipeg.

So much fun, I've done the bunker tour very informative and really cool to see all that goes on in there. I was lucky enough to bata test the escape room and let me tell you it was a blast, the puzzles were fun and very interactive plus you get to play against an other team in an other room. Then there is the laser tag, adrenal pumping action in a real live nuclear bunker, get a team together or go for some open play against a bunch if randoms, you'll be in for a good cardio work out and have a blast doing it. The staff are all super fun, and are able to answer or find out the answer to any questions you may have. Cant wait to go back for more laser tag action

It's a historical house yes, but most of the house is actually office space or an escape room game. There are two rooms downstairs, a rendition of George Brown's office/library and the dining room. It was not really what I expected when visiting the house. I expected more of a museum feel to it.

Really interesting building to look inside of. It's the home to the law society and has a couple of really old artifacts from when the society was founded. There is a law library full of reference books to cases, but it is a public space, so anyone can go there during office hours to work in the library. It's a very beautiful space.

Escape room was a blast, not easy at all but a lot of fun
An amazing place to go to learn about something that is apart of the history of our city!
I visited when the house was open the last weekend in May of 2017 when tours were offered for Open Doors Winnipeg. It's a beautiful historic house that is well maintained and so very interesting to visit. If you ever have the chance defiantly take a tour!
One of the oldest stone houses in Northern Ontario. The Ermatinger Old Stone House is part of the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site. Definitely a place to visit!

Went here for an escape room, it is by far one of my favorites because of how immersive and innovative the puzzles were!
The George Brown House was absolutely perfect for the wedding ceremony, giving us a beautifully decorated and cost friendly intimate space that still let us have our dream Victorian-themed wedding. The venue managers were very professional, quick to reply, and worked closely with us almost on a weekly basis to answer our hundreds of questions and ensure that our day would go as we planned. Being a national heritage venue does mean that there are several restrictions (e.g. limited candle usage, no confetti/rice, etc.), but these were things we could easily negotiate solutions to. Even on the day of, venue staff worked hand in hand with our wedding party to ensure a smooth rundown.
