Totally a scam store, first time being there and won’t go anymore, and not recommend at all!
We went to order banh mi, but the card machine is never working. The staff at the counter was super rude and it sounds like our problem. Keep blaming us not paying this. But we checked our bank and the transaction is approved.
And they just didn’t offer any help and assistance to it but blame us not paying it even we showed that the transaction is approved.
Well, definitely not a good experience. The supervisor was trying to help, a star is for her but the staff at the counter, super rude and disrespectful!

I like the store that opened nearby, but the staff in the butchering section are not being very helpful. I was looking for thinly sliced beef for a hot pot party, and the man in the meat section told me to look in the halal meat section. Those are the only sliced beef they have. That is not the case. They only have beef for steak and stew on the shelf. I still could not understand why an Asian supermarket does not have thinly sliced beef. Since it is a frozen product with a long shelf life, I decided to ask an Asian lady instead. She might know better. She said they have it, but when I asked if it was beef, she did not hear me clearly because she had an earbud in her ear. I had to repeat the question, and she said yes. But it turned out to be frozen sliced pork. There was one guy who tried to help, and I could see how willing he was to help. All I am complaining about here is for them to improve their staff's customer service mindset. If they do not have something, just say so. Do not mislead the customer with misinformation.

They have vast selections of halal meats and poultry certified by HIC Canada and they regularly have weekly deals for halal beef or chicken or lamb and even duck. Marinated beef and chicken selections are also available. For Eid, they can cater to Qurbani needs with free cutting service at no additional costs. Recently, they also added halal processed meats selections on the shelf from Shahir brand (e.g., Turkey bacon, pastrami, pepperonis, etc.). On top of that, they also have great variety of Asian produces and products options and seasonal fruits that can be pretty challenging to find elsewhere like jackfruits and mangosteen.

One employe Ali was very rude and unprofessional. I ask him 1pack of 3 lb ground beef and he gave me and when I asked to make three pack of each one LB ground beef he said very rudely that I am busy if you want all in one pack I can give you otherwise no there is more customers while they all came after me and he didn't finish his job and move on to next customer after that he deals with all other customers and then he gave me my required items and he waste my time in long wait without any reason and without understanding the customer value and respect.

Older lady cashier in the middle lane will NEVER allow you to put your items inside your bag until she done with all of you items (because she thinks you will steal). Talk about a control freak. Also they allow their own staff to cut lines no matter how long the lines are, they just don’t care. “I’m staff, I work here, so I go first”. Lastly they charged me twice for the same item. CHECK YO RECEIPTS BRO!!!!
Best prices for produce in downtown Toronto. Been shopping here since I was a child. The shop front hasn't changed much. The prices haven't spiked compared to the bigger chains like Loblaws and whatnot. Their cashiers are super quick, but I recommend visiting here on weekdays if possible. On the weekend it's BUSY.

The other day we were able to spend under $25 for 3 bags of clementine, 1 lettuce, 2 stalks of carrot, 3 lemons, 4 potatoes, a bag of onions, 1 cucumber, 1 bag of Bok Choy/lettuce, box of cherry tomatoes. It's hard to beat that.

This place is fantastic for Indo-Chinese groceries! They offer a wide selection of fresh and frozen seafood and chicken of excellent quality. There's plenty of parking available, and they have a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, and groceries. Additionally, being in a plaza, there's a bakery and restaurant nearby, which adds to the convenience. Overall, it's a great spot with helpful staff. Highly recommended!
Value grocery maker expect asian people you might found ingredients a lot. All meets are cheaper than supermarket, sea foods as well

Decent selection and fair prices. The fish section could use some cleaning up though.
Some of the registers take Amex (but not all of them for some reason), identified by the signs that say "Visa/Debit Only" or "Any credit/debit).

The entrance looked like vegetarian heaven. Cheap greens everywhere. Place like these allow me to understand better why groceries prices by the larger corporation are unbelievably high. But there are some items here that are expensive too…. Can’t win at all right? They gotta profit too 🤭

Loved the varieties of fresh groceries they have! Unfortunately, over last weekend we bought a bag of Asian pears that all of them were rotten from inside. We have no choice but have to throw them out!
Terrible service especially the subs. Only giving 2 stars because the food is not bad for the price. I got a sub and waited in line. Everyone who ordered after me got theirs before. I did not even order anything special. Sub wasn't even wrapped properly and veggies wer super minìmal

Prices are slightly higher too for veggies and stuff
The environment was stinky and one of the cashier was so rude. We tried to use our credit card and she was not that kind and behaved like irritated with us. She was saying something that we were not familiar with...........I won't come back here again and won't recommend anyone

Lucky market is a good place to buy affordable Asian food and produce. I usually go there when I want to get cheaper fruits and vegetables. I do stop by sometime for food also. I normally get a vietnamiese sub with the mung bean coconut drink for dessert ☺️ I highly reccomend checking this place out!

Poultry such as chicken drumstick is cheap compared to T&T and Loblaws... but packing wise is super basic.

Cleanliness around the wet area is a little cringe but all in all you can find lots of stuffs to cook Asian food as compared to Western grocers.

A definite recommend if you're looking for stuff you can't usually find in Western grocers and looking for a cheaper place to shop
This is one of my favourite grocery stores. They were a little tricky with packing the Asian pears by placing the bad side down, so the customer didn't see it. This happened to me three times. So beware of that, should we open up the pack when buying them? I should take a picture to post here. :(

ya'll tripping if you don't think kai wei isnt the best deal in town. this place is inflation proof
at the cash, no greetings, no hi whatsoever. it's like bunch of robots working there.i wanted to pay with visa gift card because i previously paid off with that card, cashier said no no no. i told her it will work , she rejected , then i said ok with visa, then i used the gift card and approved. when i told her i paid with visa gift card. she was so upset and called me "crazy" why i changed the card. I said it's paid in full and approved, what is your problem. they grabbed my card and checking it with receipt, and tried to keep us there waiting. that time i lost it and grabbed my card and receipt and left. bunch of stone headed robots with no knowledge and no regret.
Love this place. Has everything I used to buy back in India, from fruits, vegetables, spices and sea food. And sells at the cheapest price for those products compared to other asian grocery stores.

Had the displeasure of shopping here. I walked in for ground provisions and salted cod, which Asian grocery stores stock in abundance.

Was stared at continuously like I was going to steal. Stopped outside the grocery store to show my receipt.

Basically they do not want people of colour shopping here. They think we are all thieves - and I have never stolen a thing my entire life. The way they have made me feel I don’t want others of colour to feel that way.

Horrible, racist grocery store! Poor management who follows you around the store. All I went for was casava, sweet potato, yam, and Saltfish. But had to stared at and followed around.

Lucky Supermarket is a great supermarket to shop at as it's very clean and organized. My personal favourite is the deli, where you can get an assortment of Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches for a very affordable price. Overall the store is diverse with a Halal meat section and a new Filipino restaurant inside the store, in addition to being a South Asian supermarket.

Ot ok price place but I find out that there meat do not look all that fresh also there producesseem also now all that fresh sometimes.. I guess that due to changes in the country it is hard to get fresh produces and meat...the liberal is killing our country and economy... soon I think our country ranking will be on par with all the third world countries.. how sad canada was one of the best country to live in but now it's the country to stay away from.... health care is really drop down to poor health programs and offers... no family doctor not a walk in family doctor practice...there seem to really lacking of it...
Worst Customer Service. Extremely Rude Behaviour. Cheating on Customers by misleading price tag.
On December 12, 2023, at 3:13 pm, at the location of 673 Markham Road, at Terminal 1:050001002-001001, the lady misbehaved with me very badly. The price tag of Crispy bread was $3.99, but she charged $4.39, when I told her about the price tag, she asked me to follow her, and I did. She also saw $3.99, but instead of apologizing for mis-pricing, she asked me to go away. She said, "If you cannot pay $4.39, go home." Price does not matter, good customer service is more important. She cannot ask a valued customer to go home. What kind of customer service is this? I am terribly shocked at this behaviour.
the supermarket with the WORST customer service, or at least for people who don't speak Chinese. When you get to the checkout to pay they don't even look at you, they don't even ask you if you need a bag and when you ask for one they tell you it's too late. I thought they were like that with all clients but you can see that the interaction is different if you speak Chinese, it may be something cultural, but I think that in general kindness is always going to be kindness no matter what language you speak.

Peace!

I was very disappointed tonight. I went there to purchase two bags of seaweed which in each bag has 10 seaweed packs. The prices definitely have gone up but not what I was upset about. They listed the prices on each bag as $4.99 and the signage on the wall also said $4.99. This kind of product they usually don’t tax on and if they did it wouldn’t be that much more.

I was happy with the price but once I reached the cashier they said no it’s not the correct price. The sales clerk put the wrong prices which wasn’t true. I came and purchased this product many times. They even corrected it on their system when I came the first time. The second time it was the same thing charging me more $6.77 but the cashier was the same person and she only charged me $5.

Today I was charged again for $6.77. It was one of the cashiers that was there the first time and she said it’s not the correct price that the salesclerk made a mistake it’s actually $6.77. I told her the signage and on the package says $4.99. She was so mean and decided to speak to my mom in English when we were speaking Chinese. She said “do you want to buy it or not”.

We decided to pass up on the product. It has been over a month that the product has been listed as $4.99. I bet if I go there again tomorrow the price sign will still be the same but they will charge depending on the person which isn’t fair and is unkind.

Please be careful on your purchases because the prices could be changed for no reason once you cash out.

**photos were taken the next day. Nov 30th and guess what it still says $4.99 and it has been restocked full and each individual package has the price of $4.99 as well.

I went to buy minced meat because my family wants a good spaghetti sauce . We were all disappointed because the minced meat has a lot of minced bones as well. Disgusting
I bought this lemon tea at this shop yesterday, it has a very awful plastic smell. I tried preparing a cup to drink and I wasn't surprised how it turned out. 🤮🤮🤮 It says it was made in Korea but I highly doubt it!
I've been drinking this kind of tea since I was in HK and I was so disappointed finding a bad one in this shop! This bottle is definitely going to the garbage!

I was followed around this store as a potential shoplifter, even though I was wearing a BRIGHT RED coat and buying a product that was on sale for ONE DOLLAR. Seriously, if I was going to shoplift, would I wear such a bright colour and go for the cheapest item possible?? This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience here. I will never shop at this store again.

Lucky’s is clean, organized and has an amazing selection of Asian groceries.

We were around for lunchtime so we ordered Bahn Mi from the Deli counter. The bread is so nice and very crisp (without ripping the roof of your mouth). Generously filled with fresh veggies, plenty of meat, mayo and pate. It’s a solid sandwich for 5.69 (#2, Cold Cut). We also bought a roast duck from the hot counter for $33.99! A great stop if you’re in the area.
Definitely everyone needs to shop here😍
Food stuff are cheaper, halal meat for the Muslims, fresh milk 🥛 and good customer relation.💖🙏
Continue your good work 👏

Paid full price on bakery, got moldy bread. No expiry date on packaging, just pretend everything is straight outta oven.
Good One Stop Shopping for Asian groceries. However, prices could be a little bit lower. Hot food counter is MUCH better than T&T!! Service is not great (as expected). However, food quality and pricing of prepared, hot food is good. Meat counter could benefit from a ticket system, to help serve first person first and disallow for people to jump qeues. Bakery section could stand to benefit from expanding and offering more variety. No competition around. Practically guaranteed sales, as long as quality and pricing is proper. This location is a solid SECOND choice of weekly shopping.

A typical Chinese supermarket with almost all information on products in Chinese. Here you can find most of the raw materials you need for cooking in the kitchen and at a good price.

What lowers the rating is partly the cleanliness of the store and partly their payment system as they only accept debit cards and not credit cards.

I just bought a few things at Sunny just now (12:13pm now). The Chinese broccoli was extremely stale - mostly hidden inside the bag where a shopper cannot see.
I’ve attached the receipt and the conditions of the vegetables. Too bad I don’t live close or else I would return it. Not recommending this store for veggies!

Reasonably priced Oriental grocery store in north Scarborough. Many items at regular prices are cheaper than other nearby grocers who have same items on sale.

Decent variety of produce, meat, seafood, pantry, bakery, prepared foods and household items.

Decor is a bit dated, but it's surprisingly clean for its age. The grocery store doesn't have any meat nor seafood smell.
Not a good experience. First of all, they put the wrong price on their items. You will be shocked at the cashier because the price is double from what is showing on the shelves. Second, they dont speak English, you have to repeat yourself over and over plus you won't know what they were talking about since they are talking in their own language while giving you a nasty stare. I will for sure not come back in this place and will not recommend it to my family and friends. If only there is an option to give them 0 star, i will do it in a heartbeat.

Bought a fresh u grade duck 2 days ago but found one wing was cut off. Very surprised. Never had this problem before. I couldn’t see the problem because that side was put at bottom purposely in the package. 2 weeks ago on July 2 I bought a silkie chicken from this store but found it was stinky when I took it out from fridge to cook on July 4. The chicken was in good package and was put in a cooler with ice pack when bringing it home so it's not my fault. I wrote an email to the store asked them to explain but never got any response. Very disappointed as we are regular customers of this store for many year as it’s close to my home. The service quality has been deteriorating recently. If they still treat customers this way, I will change to other stores though they are farther.

I come here for lunch and bit of grocery on days when I'm craving simple Chinese food. Their hot food section for lunch is terrific and inexpensive. $8.99 for 2 items plus rice or noodles with a free soup. Can't go wrong for that price. The servers are heavy handed and friendly. I can never finish the food in one sitting. They give a lot.

I love this place so much 😭 they have a solid selection of products that can be hard to find elsewhere (I literally was ordering mochiko off Amazon because I couldn’t find it locally) and their prices are reasonable. It’s a small space and gets crowded but they have some great-looking produce and seafood as well as pantry goods.

It’s a small space with narrow aisles and it gets crowded but I’m absolutely going to be back.
They take debit - a plus if you, like me, hate paying with cash (although they obviously also take cash). The cashiers were friendly enough.

The venerable KAI WEI Supermarket on the South East side of Spadina and Dundas Streets, is a great vast emporium, showcasing outside its offerings of Western and Asian fruits and vegetables wrapping around to Grange Street, and its international supermarket wares, meats and live fish in its spacious interior, adding a Bitcoin machine for crypto-shoppers. The prices are inexpensive, the items fresh (can it be otherwise...) & the checkout super fast with a small army of razor sharp cashiers.

Great place to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables. Clean and quick service. The store is well stocked and priced fairly. Seasonal tropical fruits like guava, papaya, rambutan are available too. Although this is a store aimed to cater to Chinese ethnicity, it is stocked with Indian spices, lentils, ghee, oils. The store is impeccably clean and the staff are helpful. Fresh fish and seafood is available too. The staff at the counter need to be a little more professional and slower.
Great Asian supermarket with good fruits and Chinesevegetables selection. Lot Of delicious discounted price for food lovers.

Decent sized grocery store. I went for their food. 2 items with rice or noodles was $8.99. Portion size was good but the food was awful. Firstly the noodles were super salty and was not mixed properly. The chicken was somehow bitter and tasted bad. There was 3/4 pieces of beef and mostly onions. It tasted super salty and filled with soy sauce. Did not enjoy the meal at all. Very disappointed with the food quality. They just accept debit and cash.

Fresh produce, authentic Chinatown supermarket with narrow aisles and meat/seafood service counters in the back! Constantly well stocked items, cashiers are quick to check out your items. Lots of diverse products and generally has the items you need for Asian cooking. Staff are all quick and straight to the point. Also helps to know or bring an image of what you're looking for if it's something foreign. Worth popping in for a quick shop. Just be warned, it's always busy here!

Good.
One of the Chinese supermarkets in this area. Cheaper price than regular groceries store. I like it.
Diverse food, especially Asian vegetables, foods and spices. Apart from Chinese brands, I have found many Vietnamese and Korean foods here.
This is a Chinese supermarket so only about 50% of staff know English. But they're friendly.
A pity is the late opening hours (9:00 am) and early closing. Why not open an hour earlier (8:00 am) and close a little later? :)
I was able to find lots of South East Asian fruits and as well as lots of Thai cuisine herbs, spices and other cooking ingredients.

Be sure to check this little hidden gem of a grocery store out, for hard to find Asian cuisine ingredients/groceries. Don't judge it's looks/smells on the inside or outside...The stuff on the shelves are what you are there for :)

Best place to buy Indian food items with good quality and cheap price. On top of that, cashiers and staff members are very helpful. But, when someone ask for hiring at that time customer service reps behave like recruiters and instead of taking resume they denied as usual we are not hiring. Please at least take someone's resume even that person not selected or whatever but it creates good reputation of the store.

Excellent services and fresh fruits and vegetables / groceries. Always in stocks all products. Good customer services. Parking is available easily always around. Products are reasonable priced.
Pretty good grocery store with the lowest prices compared to Best Co and Fresh value. They have sale of items in the lower racks of produce that have past their prime but can be consumed immediately. They have a wide variety of ethnic food, Halal meat, seafood section, etc. You will not be disappointed with the choices that are available here. They could, however, do a better job of cleaning the place but it’s not bad overall.

It's a big shop. A chaines store. You can find all the daily needs of this store.
Usually, I prefer this store to buy fish. I like their fish storage. It's really huge and all kind of fish can be found in this shop.
Actually, I prefer because they provide same fish in the lowesr price than any other store.

After all, this is the best place for chines people.

Thanks, everyone.

The service here is getting worse and worse. Charged me the normal price for a 40lb bag of rice that on sale. Found the error on the receipt later on, but the "customer service" won't believe the customer: stating I must purchased another brand instead of the one onsale. Had to bring the rice back to the store then got it corrected. Also charged me US Fuji price with Chinese Fuji apples. No apology, no word of sorry, nothing. There are errors in their system, and in their staff.
Remind everyone check your receipt carefully before you leave the store!

Grocery store, not like Wal-Mart and other big franchise, but it has routine grocery items, it has chiense and Indian grocery items a lot because of neighborhood. It also has bakery inside and live food items. Not a highly clean store but not that dirty too. It's cheap for all routine Grocery, they did not do price match here. They also open washroom for customer's. Live stall for Internet and other food items.

Chinese style grocery. Lots of Asian and Caribbean produce and goods.

They are very crowded and busy. Large mix of patrons but majority are Asian descent. Staff communication is difficult as most don't speak English.
There is a food counter with selected items combined into meals for purchase.

Produce is usually fresh.

The seafood section is quite varied, lobster, shrimp, shellfish & a wide range of fresh and ocean fish.

However, the fish stink from the back of the store hits the shopper as they walk into the store.. needs separator like other branches.
