Red Bus - 3.5 stars. Beautiful sights of Quebec City. However, Quebec City is compact, so if you like to walk, you could see the most interesting sights easily, get the Quebec City information from Google, and save the fare money for a nice meal. Driver friendly, but don't expect bus to arrive at scheduled times. Even in June, the schedule was finished by dinner time. If you are on a tight touring schedule, this is a good option. Frankly, I probably wouldn't do this again, based on the fare.
We have been on several hop on and hop off. this was one of the better ones. They gave you a great overview of the city and didn’t waste time with Music. They also had personal headphones so that you could hear the information. I would have liked more information but I do recommend.
Martin made our tour extra fun and provided us with personalized travel trips to enjoy our time in Quebec City. Highly recommend the Hop On Hop Off to see all the highlights ⭐️
Francois is very good and knows that ins and out of Quebec. I appreciate very much that he was a very skilled driver considering the roads are so narrow. I am hoping that your company will be able to hire more drivers/tour guides like him.
Would not recommend this experience to anyone who can walk or drive. At $65 pp for "24 hours" (actually in May they only operate the buses from about 10 am to 5 pm), it's way overpriced for what we got. A boring bus ride with no live guide, just a recorded narration in 8 languages, which was dry and boring, not enough historical overview and no local tidbits, recommendations or any personal touch like you would hear from a live guide. Half of the time was just music. Didn't feel like I learnt anything of value. The seats were uncomfortable hard plastic both in and out. Quite unbecoming for an interesting city like this.
Robin tried so hard to try and find us wildlife but unfortunately the 6 hour tour was a quieter one. There was a child on our tour that didn't stop talking the whole time and hard to see with other guests in the way. Perhaps some music would've been good whilst we travel. We very much appreciated the hot chocolate provided to us. I also loved being able to use the much better binoculars on board. A nice warm inside boat cabin!

We saw orcas within the first 5 minutes which was highly unlikely but honestly made my year. 3 humpbacks, endless porpoises, dolphins, sea lions and seals. Very informative and I’d highly recommend.
We went on a Grizzly Tour to Bute Inlet. It was mind blowing and amazing. The tour was perfectly organized, we stopped several times for wildlife (humpbacks, seals) on the way. As we arrived at the Bute Inlet, we got a very high-quality lunch served consisting out of a wrap, cookies, granola bar, dried fruits and coffee/tea/hot chocolate. All homemade.
The bear viewing part was simply mind blowing. Super nice and friendly guides explaining the history, the behaviours of the bears and providing lots of information about their culture and the region. We saw several bears fishing for salmon, even a mom with two cubs. We had lots of time with the bears at several viewing points.
The guides on the boat are super professional and the friendliest people ever.

The tour was a wonderful first impression of Newfoundland with beautiful scenery and amazing crew. Glenn made sure to check in with us many times throughout the tour and was kind to take photos of my partner and I, as well as give us advice on local spots to see during our stay.

First time on this whale watching vessel. My daughter got the most out of it. They offered some face painting, some cookies and hot chocolate. We actually saw a whale breach a handful of times. Having been out on the other boats, seeing the whales or other sea life will vary. Either way, the whole experience was great and I'm sure I'll be on board again in the future. Thank you.
Just a phenomenal time! A beautiful trip with lots of information and amazing views. The crew was lovely and Glenn in particular made us feel incredibly welcome. We saw a sunfish and many birds, but the real joy was being on the ocean.
Great experience for my family and myself. Saw 3 whales, seals, and porpoises. They had entertainment for the children as the kids didn't have the patience to ride out to the whales. Plus a sweet treat and hot chocolate.
Great experience for our whole family. Chloe, Courtney and Captain Joel were very informative, friendly and passionate about their work. Boat had a nice top viewing deck, and a closed in area below to keep everyone warm and dry. We saw Minke whales, harbour porpoises and seals, well worth the money.
The tour was excellent. The crew staff were all friendly. We were too late in the season to see any whales, (mid August) but just seeing the Puffins was worth it. The tour guide was very good.
Very informative and beautiful sights. They use headphones and there are ten languages to choose from. Good overview of this historic city. Good placement for places to stop, see the area and get back on. Really enjoyed this opportunity.
Loved the 2 hours cruise 🛳. We were lucky to see a Minke whale, a large school of jelly fish, lots of puffins, common murres and several other sea birds! The crew was great and entertaining 👏 👍
We had a really beautiful and rewarding experience with O'Brien's in mid-August for a 9am whale and bird tour with Con O'Brien, cousin of the original founder, and member of the band the Irish Descendants. Con educated our small group of 10 with really interesting facts about the area, Gull Island, all the seabirds we saw, facts about NL in general, and of course sang a few irish songs for us while we sailed. Con was available for a chat any time if you wanted more information about anything. He pointed out notable birds, explained about their habitat, and told stories of other tours he's done, and his traveling adventures. He's also really funny and entertaining, he's clearly very experienced in his role and a natural showman.
The boat itself is really comfortable, with a closed cabin for those who want to stay warmer, and an open upper deck. They sell snacks, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic drinks, and have two bathrooms on board.
We sadly did not see any whales, but did spot a seal, several jellyfish, gulls, murres, puffins, a sun shower, and a rainbow. Gull Island was particularly gorgeous with its mindblowing rock formations and massive bird colonies. The crew took good care of us, and were always consulting their instruments looking for whales. Safety demos were provided. Tipping is optional and could be made by dropping cash in a box at the exit at the end of the tour. When we docked at 11am, we noticed a huge crowd for the next tour, so maybe booking for the early slot is better if you don't want to deal with fighting for railings. Please remember that there are no guarantees about seeing whales and that the crew is doing the best they can to give you a great experience, but cannot pre-book wild animals in a vast ocean.

Would highly recommend this tour, the team was very respectful of the animals both in the water and in the air, we saw multiple whales and half a million birds. The whole experience was a very memorable and sentimental one as well, @Obriens owners give your crew and guide a big fat tip (and a raise) at the end of this seasons thanks -- We went end of June/early July
We booked a tail ship for 3.5 hours ride inside the sea, worth the trip!!! They went up-to to the border, so much entertainment for kids like face paint, captain ride and certificate, mini aquarium visit❤️ they made the entire ride without any boring for kids! We saw few varieties of whales 🐳 worth the ticket and worth the ride! Except we went with a french tv show crew on our ride which they were busy shooting in the front deck other than that everything is good 👍🏻

The tall ship is amazing for families, the kids really loved it. We saw mink whales, one was quite close. The crew passed around live sea creatures and let the kids “captain” the boat for awhile which put huge smiles on their faces. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful spot to head out on the ocean. Great prices -children and student rates!! The guides were very friendly and hospitable! We sailed out to the echo reserve to see the puffins save sea birds. No whales today, but it was a great adventure! Gorgeous sights.
Great sightseeing tour in the heart of St. John’s. You may get a chance to see whales, and will certainly see puffins and great views of the city and Cape Spear.
The tall ship is Absolutely a wonderful experience. The staff are very professional and good at all that they do. A feature of the excursion is an onboard touch tank used to educate the youngsters about local sea creatures. Face painting for kids and a cup of hot chocolate with cookies made the trip perfect for young and old. We saw Minke whales, seals and so much more.
Great fish and chips & my wife enjoyed the fish taco. View from the patio is worth the visit. They are dog friendly.
Great tour, fast boat, bring sunglasses so you can see while travelling, otherwise you cannot open your eyes due to the wind. Operator was knowledgeable and respectful of the whales, we witnessed other boats that would almost be considered harassing to the whales. We saw dolphins and two Minke whales that breached numerous time, some very close to the boat. Hard to capture in pictures due to the unpredictably of the whales.
What an amazing experience!! Those words don't even do the trip justice. Whales, a shark, porpoises, and more seals than we could count. The amazing marine biologists they had for their crew were amazing!! Very informative and ready for any question. We will definitely be going again. Thank you to Joel the captain and the 2 young ladies on board, I'm so sad i can't remember their names but if they're reading this, you were on with us on July 28th at 1:30pm. You guys were amazing!! You certainly can tell how much you love your jobs.
What an amazing tour - we loved every minute of it! All of the guides were extremely friendly and made us laugh. Glenn in particular was welcoming, kind, and made us feel special. And we saw at least a dozen whales - icing on the cake! Highly recommended!
Beautiful boat ride. Didn't see as many whales as I had hoped, but we definitely saw them! They let the kids steer the ship, had an informative touch tank, and brought around some baleen for everyone to see. Threw in some face painting, and at the end, they served some hot soup. It was fantastic!!!

The captain and crew were wonderful and very knowledgeable of the area, the animals, and the history. The whales were shy, and none were leaping out of the water, but we still got to see them. I had signed up for the screech in, but the guy who did the ceremony was unable to because of an injury. I was disappointed, but not his or anyone's fault, so still 5 stars from me. Highly recommend

This is a nice tour, the crew is very kind and helpful. Although we were not lucky and didn't see the whale and puffins due to the weather, the crew did their best closing to the cliffs so we can have better views and we did enjoyed the two hour boat tour. Also like to note that we booked this tour online and the booking process is easy with clear information.
Great whale watching tour boat! 2 Marine biologists on board boat was clean, seats cushioned. Washrooms on board. Enough life jackets and life boats for everyone. I felt very safe. The captain was professional friendly and a great tour guide. We saw whales, a great white shark cruising around the sea lions….He did have a snack too. Dolphins, Bald Eagles, crabs to see and hold for those who wanted to. It was a great day!

We did a two hour guided tour. Our bus driver was Allen and he provided a lot of information about the Qubec city and its history. Quebec (where the river narrows) is a strategic city for French & English men, and that's why there were wars in between to capture it.

I would highly recommend this boat tour. You are entertained with music, singing and games. The captain is the father who had three sons managing and handling the whole experience. It was wonderful.

We saw quite a few humpback whales displaying different behaviours, pacific white-sided dolphins, harbour seals, a black bear and many, many bald eagles on the 6 hour covered-boat tour. The rapids and whirlpools were fun to boat through as well. I have been on a few tours in the past, but it was a first for my family members so I'm glad that we saw so much! Our guide, Batman, was very kind, genuine, and knowledgeable. Additonal things that stood out were the hearty lunch of 3 different wrap options, a mix of dried fruit, and homemade baked goods; the informative briefing of our route before and after the trip; and the carbon neutral objectives of the company which allowed each guest to protect a square meter of land in Toba Inlet through a small conservation fee. Thanks for a great tour!
Late May trip. We booked them at St. John where we sailed south on a tour of the incredible coast and had a great time with Glenn. Then we drove 5 hours NW to Twillingate where we booked them again for an iceberg viewing experience which was simply extraordinary.
Great tour! The crew was amazing, the caption steered the boat well and we saw many puffins and other birds. No whales at this time, but shout-out to the driver for them that picked up the people from hotels! He was super knowledgeable about the history of the area, local saying and overall great on the ride there and ride back. Totally recommend!
The tour could be clearly understood in both French and English with the headphones. I am not sure if they have a live guide in the summer months.

Wonderful whale watching experience! We have gone twice and have seen numerous whales, seals, porpoises, and bald eagles. Great opportunities for photography and a chance to learn about the area with the marine biologists on board.
What an EPIC experience …. This deserves 10 stars! EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT WORKS HERE DESERVES A SHOUT OUT! From the moment you check in you have this welcoming feeling and you know this trip will be awesome. They have 2 super knowledgeable marine biologists on the boat who explain everything and teach you so much about the whales you will see on your trip and all the surrounding islands you will see. The captain is also friendly and knowledgeable. This is a worthwhile trip for everyone travelling here. Highly recommend. They guarantee a 96% rate of seeing marine life! You will see whales and seals and dolphins. Everyone is happy and welcoming.
What a great experience.. have never done whale watching but was a great time.. started out foggy then after it lifted the games began! Lots of seals to start, then a few porpoise then on the main attractions! Lol. A few minky whales and a Fin to end the day.. Super knowledgeable and friendly on board staff and approachable to ask lots of questions.. Will definitely definitely be back again! My vote for best boat attraction in the area..

We had a truly amazing experience in Campobello with Captain Mackie. An amazing whale watching tour where we saw several Minkie whales, porpoises, sea dogs and birds. Mackie is knowledgeable in all things aquatic, a real salt of the earth guy!! He loves his job and it really shows. We were so fortunate to have had a tour all to ourselves (VIP treatment). It was a beautiful night on the water and certianly something we will never forget!! We are NB'ers and we are so fortunate to have such beauty in our own back yard. An amazing experience! We saw lots of whales, porpoises, seals and many different birds. The captain followed the whales so we could get a close look. The crew was very knowledgable telling many stories but also sharing facts about the whale's behavior. Highly recommended!
Loads of fun! We saw fin whales, minke whales, harbor porpoises that went right under the boat, seals, Lions mane jellyfish, and all kinds of other things. Mac and Robert were very knowledgeable, and told us all about interpreting the behaviors we were seeing. They were also very friendly. Great for kids, great for adults. We are so glad we went!

Outstanding whale watch! Small boat, knowledgeable crew (Captain Mackey & onboard naturalist Robert). Almost as soon as we left port we had outstanding views of several minke whales, as well as numerous porpoises, and lots of different sea birds.
Captain Mac is an excellent guide. Knowledgeable, humorous and persistent. We went out on a foggy day and still saw 4 finback whales, seals, porpoises, seabirds and great views. We even bought lobster from Captain Mac and cooked it on site with a propane burner provided by Captain Mac. Much recommended.
