Amazing experience! Had the Luma beef Ribeye
and Chain steak based on Mario’s recommendation - perfectly cooked and exactly the right portion size. Highly recommend the green beans and fries. All the staff were lovely, Sarah our waitress was very friendly, explained the concept and got a bowl of water for my dog right away which was much appreciated on a hot summer day. Great vibe and a fantastic night out!

Really comfy atmosphere, great location and fair prices. Smoking inside the bar is allowed, still it doesn't smell bad. fast and nice service. if you have some time to spare in Uster, you should most definitely visit The Porter House.

The best steak we ever had!! Omg it was so delicious.

One thing to improve is the waiting time until you are presented with the selection of steaks. It really took so long until we were invited to check the selection of meats.

The swiss dry aged steak is really worth it. I always like my steak medium well. Flavorful and delish. We enjoyed our lunch.

Hear ye, hear ye! At The Porter House, a feast awaits! With noble staff and fare so fine, every dish a delight. Tender meats, fresh seafood, and a warm hearth, this place is a gem in the realm of dining. Seek ye this haven, for a meal fit for royalty!

Excellent steakhouse. The salad is delicious. Good affordable wine list. The choice of meat with the restaurant butcher is very good. The taste of the meat and the cooking were perfect!! Good dessert too.

The real highlight of my visit was our waiter, Andri. He was super friendly and efficient, making the experience fantastic. I walked out very happy. Great job, Andri!

As for the food, the large nachos with extra cheese are, indeed, large and extra cheesy (in a good way). If you’re planning on ordering a main dish, I highly recommend sharing the small nachos instead.

I was really excited going to this place, as theoretically it’s one of the top 101 steakhouse list worth to pop by.

The staff is friendly, but the “restaurant” it’s rather mediocre - I have no idea why it’s on that list.

1. Negroni: for 19 CHF it was one of the worst I’ve ever had - shame! It’s a necessary item of a good steak restaurant!

2. The meat I’ve chose: Australian Wagyu - it was well prepared, the taste was marvelous - but there was no steak sauce, just one side dish and a salad - for a total bill of 217 this was something unexpected.

3. My girlfriend has gluten intolerance - would double your profits if you care about that as the chances for a visit from couples (I.e one allergic and one who loves stake - like us)

Overall it’s a nice experience but this place it’s not a stake restaurant. Maybe a dine in place with a butchery.

It’s a shame - Switzerland has so many talented people from all around the world with tons of possibilities/resources/money and the restaurants are a disappointment.

Amazing steakhouse! The quality of the meat and the cooking is exceptional. Every bite was a delight. The atmosphere is cozy. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure every detail is perfect. Dies ist eine momentane Einschätzung, wie es so ist mit Restaurants...Herzliche Gastgeberin, super, schneller und sympathischer Service und den Koch nicht zu vergessen....super gekocht🤗Weiter so, wir waren 7. Personen und das Essen kam gleichzeitig auf den Tisch. Wir fühlten uns rundum wohl und gut aufgehoben. Vielen Dank für den wunderschönen Abend🫶🏻

Das Highlight ist und bleibt seit Jahren das Fondue Chinoise. Für ein Teamessen ist das Restaurant bestens geeignet und lädt zum verweilen ein. Als Essen zu zweit ist es etwas zu gewöhnlich vom Ambiente her. Die Einrichtung ist sehr einfach. Der Service jedoch war hervorragend, sehr freundlich und präsent.

Wir waren in jeder Beziehung restlos zufrieden. Auch das Preis Leistung Verhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung und wir werden sicher nicht das letzte Mal da gewesen sein!!!

Good steaks in town although is pricy but recommended you to try. They have two shops in Zurich, better make an appointment. We had sausage as starter, lamb chops and steak side for corns and zucchini and order 2 glass of in-house red wine. Total Cost $240

Service was personal, warm and welcoming. Pinsa with rocket, ham& tomatoes, mozzarella was delicious.

Grossartiges Kaffe mit ausserordenlichen Atmosphäre. Ich war dort für die Lesung " Ist das ok? " von Agota Lavoyer. Im Kaffe finden such Konzerte oder andere Lesungen statt.

Service war persönlich, warm und sehr aufmerksam. Pinsa mit Ruccola, Rohschinken, Mozzarella und Tomaten sehr lecker.

Eine hervorragende Beiz! Das gemütliche Ambiente lädt bei bestem Fondue Chinoise zum Verweilen ein! Der Service ist top und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Alles in allem einfsch ein toller und geselliger Abend. Dies war definitiv nicht das letzte Mal und ich komme sehr gerne wieder!! Herzlichen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft!

PS: Der lokale Wein ist äusserst empfehlenswert 😉

Zum Mittagessen gibt es jeweils 4 Menüs zur Auswahl, dazu Suppe oder Salat. Die Portionengrösse sind etwas kleiner, als bei der Pächterin vorher. Aber immer noch genug gross, damit man sich satt essen kann.
Das bekannte Fondue Chinoise ist weiterhin erhältlich und sehr empfehlenswert.

This place has incredible take on the classic hamburger. They embed eggs and bacon into it, and it's massive .

It's big enough in terms of space to play board games . They have fussbal, as well and it is kid friendly due to the large space and opportunity to build your own area out.

Such a warm little place! The food was sumptuous and soul filling, coffee was great, staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and sweet.
I went once after my class and soon it became almost an everyday affair! A must visit cafe!

Weil der Biergarten des Hotels Sonne trotz Prachtswetter zu war, sind wir hier gelandet. Sehr feine salzige Wähe mit Salat zum Zmittag gegessen (6.50 Fr.), selbstgemacht. Freundliche Bedienung, und mit dem sympathischen Inhaber haben wir uns kurz unterhalten. Ansprechendes Konzept (peruanische Gerichte dank Köchin aus Peru; Konzerte und Specials zur Belebung des Dorflebens). Empfehlenswert!

Ich besuche den Hirschen in Lufingen schon seit mehreren Jahren regelmässig und habe an diesem Ostersonntag der Premiere eines Brunchs mit einer Freundin beigewohnt.
Die online Reservation für 2 Personen hat tadellos funktioniert. Beim Betreten des Gastraumes erwartete uns ein sehr reichhaltiges und gesundes Selbstbedienungs-Buffet mit verschiedenen Brotsorten, Früchten, Birchermüesli, Rührei, Würstchen, Speckscheiben etc. – eine Augenweide in Bezug auf deren kreative Präsentation.
Der Preis von CHF 36.—pro Person steht meines Erachtens in einem sehr guten Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis, denn alles hat super gemundet und wir hatten eine fröhliche und zufriedene Zeit verbracht.

Minus-Punkt =>
Der Orangensaft war nach meinem Gusto nicht direkt frisch hausgepresst. Dies könnte man eventuell verbessern.

Plus-Punkte =>
Der hausgemachte Eistee mundete hervorragend in meinem Gaumen. Bitte so beibehalten.
Das Service-Personal ist aus meiner Sicht gut eingespielt und zuverlässig – auch beim heutigen Full-House.

Da ich den Hirschen generell mit 5 Punkten beurteilen möchte, beschränke ich mich hier spezifisch auf den Brunch am 17.04.2022 – daher gebe ich stolze 4 von 5 Punkten.
Ich hoffe, dass bei Jasmin noch weitere Sonntags-Brunch-Events stattfinden werden. Ich bin dabei … bis zum nächsten Mal.

Habe dort ein Riesen Cordon Bleu gegessen und es war einfach super ! Sehr gutes Restaurant und die Bedienung war Top! Ich komme gerne immer wieder und kann wirklich an jedem weiter empfehlen dieses Restaurant !!!

I used to like the place. But arriving at 22 and seeing that we cannot sit because quite a few tables are (still) reserved for eating, is very disappointing. The only option available was outside, and it's already a bit cold for that.

Also, I find it very disgusting that people are allowed to smoke inside, and the DJ music apparently is only for them, the smokers.

I guess I should start going to Zeughaus more often.

Update: I wasn't given any option, just to sit where the barrels are (very uncomfortable) or outside (already cold), I certainly wasn't informed that I would be informed if someone would leave.

What I don't understand is why at least 4 tables were reserved just for eating at 22:00, empty, when they could be accommodating us or someone else for drinks. I seriously doubt that so many people would eat that late in Switzerland.

I am happy if the non-smokers area will be improved soon, at least.

Update 2: I don't know who you are talking about but we weren't three, but two, and there were at least four tables available but still reserved for dinner, at 22. If somebody spoke with you that we were leaving it certainly wasn't my friend. Thanks for the offer but I am not writing you, I just think that the service should be much more flexible and welcoming, customer-centric, which definitely wasn't the case the last time we went there, and that is why we left.

Again, it's ridículous to tell your customers to sit outside or in the uncomfortable area of the barrels (that was empty for that reason) when you have several empty tables, reserved for food, that realistically will not be occupied anymore. Seriously, it's just about caring about your customers, the rest doesn't matter. The way it happened the message I received is "I prefer to keep all those tables empty than giving one to you", which isn't really a nice thing to say
