We have visited this part of Great Wall in winter. That was good choice as it was not crowdy and crystal air visibility. Amazing views and experience.
We climbed the west part of Mutianyu on a sunny autumn day. The climb was of moderate difficulty level in general, and we enjoyed the fantastic views. Since it's a famous attraction and visiting earlier or later when allowed can be good to avoid crowds.
It is such an incredible view, you must visit this place at least once in your lifetime.
Mutianyu is super recommended if you are looking to visit the Great Wall but with less crowded options. The view is undoubtedly amazing.
If you choose the cable car, it costs around 200 RMB/pax, including the return bus ticket.

We use Mubus tour to Mutianyu and price was 150 RMB which include a round trip bus transfer and entrance ticket to the great wall. This basically means you can climb up and down the wall on your feet at no extra cost... But I don't think many people did this.
There are 2 service which takes you up and down the Great wall. The first one which I recommend is to go up with an open cable chair ride and going down on a toboggan (slideing car controlled by hand brakes) it was such great fun! and the cost for round trip was 140 RMB. This service takes you up to the east side of the wall which is shorter but steeper than the west side.
The second service is going up and down with a closed cable car. This one takes you to the west side of the wall which is more flat (the guide told us but we didn't visit this side). The ticket for this would cost another 140 RMB.
The Mubus tour give us 5 hours and the guide would persuade you to buy both rides (west ans east). But in my opinion, if you'd like to enjoy the relaxing view and do not want to rush, just chose one side. If you have any spare time you can visit the shops and cafe instead.

You won't believe how amazing this place is to visit. Your trip to China is incomplete without a visit to the Great Wall. In this particular part of the Great Wall, you have the opportunity to take a cable car up to the hill's summit. If you have a knee problem, be cautious when climbing stairs.
Defenately worth to visit spot on Great China wall. There is a convenient funicular (200 RMB way and back), or you can go by yourself :)

Breathtaking. To avoid crowds and get the best view, you’ll want to arrive early. We rented a comfortable 6-seater car for ¥1k and left Beijing at 6:30 am. You can also book a DiDi for much less. If you want to save your walking energy for the wall itself, take the cable car up. And you absolutely must take the slide down—a highlight of the experience.
What a wonderful looking place this is. I have never seen such grand architect, that were hand made.
Not only impressed by the architecture and sophistication behind it, but the view is just… overwhelming.
Highly suggest to take cable car up and walk around. On the way down, make sure to take the slides! It’s well worth it!
