Emmanuel (Fluffy) and Marcos gave us an unbelievable experience! Emmanuel was not our guide, but rode with us to and from. He is so high energy and full of smiles, it's impossible to be down with him around! Marcos was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable and kept everyone safe, while making it an unforgettable time. The class 2/3 rapids were absolutely doable for a beginner, but didn't skimp on excitement.
We did the Canyoning Tour - it was awesome! Would definitely recommend. Special shoutout to Andres & Kendall for making the experience extra special and fun. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and something we'll never forget. As a bonus they do take pictures and videos for you along the way (you do have the pay for them, but it is well worth it). Thank you to the entire Desafio trip - we hope to do another tour with you again soon!
We thoroughly enjoyed a moonlit boat ride with Otto on Lake Arenol. He pointed out various birds and the view of the volcano from the lake was gorgeous. Otto was spectacular, offered dance lessons, taught us some Spanish, made delicious drinks and the pineapple salsa was so yummy. PURDA VITA!!!!
Attrape touriste, 30min de retard, de mauvais conseil, vend un canoe a assistance électrique incapable d'avancer...
By far the best experience we have had. The guides Michael, Rush, Antonio, Deibis were incredible. Very friendly and professional and made the trip so much fun. The views, zip line and repelling are amazing.
Highly recommended.
Just finished the ATV tour with my son and it was awesome!!!! Thank you Sara and our tour guide Kevin!!! Great people and an amazing experience!!!!!!! Wonderful people!!!!!
Had an absolute blast canyoning! We were nervous but our guides were fantastic. Lunch afterward was delicious! Can’t recommend highly enough!
Hands down the best part of our 8 Day Costa Rica trip. The experience with Desfario was worth every penny plus more! So we took the afternoon tour for a class 2/3 experience. We were picked up via a shuttle at Hotel Mountain Paradise. It was comfortable, nice, and cool... and it had wifi! Our shuttle then takes us to a hub in Afuera province. As soon as we arrived there, we were treated to a delicious lunch of classic tico cuisine. Then they let us relax, nap, use our phones, whatever, while we digested the food.

After we were good to go, we jumped in another shuttle and headed to the river, where we continued our adventure with David and Gabriel. After a quick crash course in paddling forward, backward, stopping, and leaning in, we were off on the water! Water temperature was about 25C (which was really nice and refreshing!) David was in our raft while Gabriel followed us in a smaller raft to take photos. The whole experience was about 5 hours. :)

It is highly recommended that you request Gabriel and David as your guides. Gabriel is very funny and takes great photos. David is a walking encyclopedia. He spotted so many animals for us and was very knowledgeable about them! He was familiar with Costa Rican history and its neighboring countries. David taught me more on that trip than any other guide on any other excursion I took. My recommendation for him cannot be overstated.
Great trip up the volcano.
I have had not only one but TWO amazing experiences with Manuel Antonio Adventure. Sarah is so kind and helpful and helped us book tours with amazing tour guides for a beautiful and fun vacation. I cannot thank them enough and am glad they helped make a great vacation twice for us ;)

This place was awesome! Very accommodating and pleasant for my friends. I took them here and they enjoyed it so much.
Un tour maravilloso con los quads!! Super recomendable!!
Saludos y pura vida!!

Wonderful experience hiking the Arenal volcano trail with our guide Krystal. She was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna as well as the geologic history of the volcano. Warm, and very accommodating for people of varying hiking ability. They had a nice fresh fruit snack for us after the hike. Highly recommend this company and Krystal.
Went on a tour of the Arenal volcano and our tour guide Kevin was informative, fun, and friendly. It was a great experience and I highly recommend adventuring with Desafio. They also served us fruit after the tour and it was so good! Have a blast a learn some stuff, go with Desafio!
Had a great day hiking Arenal, our guides were great Jorge, Kevin and Marcus were very friendly and informative. Beautiful views from the hike and I was proud as we are not young lol hot springs and dinner after we’re a fun relaxing way to end trip!
Great experience!
Nice canoe trip for about 3 hrs in the morning, the guide took his time, we saw a lot of animals (birds ,monkeys, cayman, ....)
At night we did the turtle tour, wonderfull experience, a turtle coming in from the sea, making a whole and laying eggs, highly recommend this tour! Our guide, Burnie, was really the best.
A Disappointment The Arenal Volcano is one of Costa Rica's most popular tourist attractions. With its imposing conical silhouette, the volcano is a symbol of the country and draws visitors from around the world.

However, my experience at the Arenal Volcano was a disappointment. The volcano was inactive during my visit, which meant there were no eruptions or lava to see. Additionally, the area around the volcano was crowded with tourists, making it difficult to appreciate the natural beauty of the place.

Here are some reasons why I wouldn't return to visit the Arenal Volcano:
- The volcano was inactive: The primary reason for my visit to the Arenal Volcano was to witness an eruption. However, the volcano was inactive during my visit, which left me very disappointed.
- The area was crowded with tourists: The area around the Arenal Volcano was teeming with tourists. This made it difficult to appreciate the natural beauty of the location and take photos without people in the way.
- Activities were expensive: The activities offered at the Arenal Volcano were costly. For example, a boat tour on Lake Arenal cost around $50.

In summary, my experience at the Arenal Volcano was a letdown. If you're looking for a unique and memorable natural attraction, I recommend visiting another place.

Here are some suggestions for natural attractions in Costa Rica worth visiting:
- Parque Nacional Rincón de la Vieja is The best
-Tortuguero National Park: This park is home to one of the world's largest populations of sea turtles.
- Corcovado National Park: This park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including jaguars, tapirs, and monkeys.
Great time with the canoe tour and turtle tour with these guys. Verny was our guide for both and was very passionate about the animals. He was excellent at giving information and taking time to spot things.
This is a very environmentally conscious group.

On the canoe tour we saw agami heron, caiman, howler monkey, Spider monkey, sloths, and other Birdlife. Worth the early morning!
We had a very good kayak tour with Marceilles ! We saw a lot of animals : birds, caimans, monkeys, sloths...
The Canoe Tour with Caretta Tours was incredible! The guide was so calm and kind, and he told us so much about the flora and fauna of tortuguero. We saw birds, several monkeys and even a cayman!!! It was the most nurturing experience. I definitely recommend it
There are several hiking routes accessible including a wider gravel road to a lookout place. The lookout is to the volcano and cars can even drive up there (could be important for anyone who cannot hike). The hikes to the old lava flow are all in a heavy brush so you won't see the vulcano while on the way, only when you pop out in the end. Be careful that even though you can hike into the afternoon, but you are allowed to enter only up until 2:30pm (if I recall it correctly).
Absolutely amazing! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves wildlife and adventure. The tour guide was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable about the landscape, vegetation and wildlife. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful tour, we saw lots of wildlife and the guide was absolutely amazing - would definitely recommens
Excellent tour guide who took his time to find us some monkeys!
Amazing park with beautiful views, plants, and wildlife. Easy hiking. Arrive early to beat the crowds. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen!
Got in early - it is a public holiday - and parked at the lowest car park. This meant the hikes were a little long (600m in each direction) and we walked about 7.5km in total. Saw plenty of wildlife including monkeys, a very hard to see sloth and birds galore. Weather was fantastic and the views of the volcano, whilst few, were excellent.

By the time we left (1pm) there were cars queuing to enter and the car parks were full
We toured the El Ceibo trail to see the 400 year old tree, spectacular experience and a really great hike. Go early if you want to avoid the crowds, we had the trail to ourselves for the first 1.5hr

We booked the day before over WhatsApp- staff were responsive and booking was easy. Our extreme zip lining tour was so much fun! However, we felt a bit rushed. It would have been nice to stop and enjoy the views. But, the tour guides were excellent. Particularly, thank you to Cecy. I was very, very nervous and she was amazing at calming me down and making my experience fun.
Ich hatte über diesen Anbieter eine ATV-Tour gebucht. Sehr nette und schnelle Kommunikation und jederzeit erreichbar. Sehr empfehlenswert
We hiked the trails starting above the second trail at #4. Moving for a bit the trail turned from quite wide to more like a hiking trail with a few muddy spots. Upon reaching the ‘Y’ we chose to take a right on El Celbo. This trail went gradually down and quickly became an adventure. The once reliable trail became increasingly muddy and quite challenging but the payoff was amazing. The tree in the middle of this section was amazing and worthy of the effort. After that we climbed slowly out of this area though the mud seemed to subside a tad. After that we encountered a metal staircase to the lava flows which gave great views of Lake Arenal and supposedly of the Volcano. Our day was cloaked in fog, mist, rain and sometimes downpour. The walk back on 4 was quite easy and quick.

Friendly employees that will help you out.
At my time of arrival, there was a wild sloth hanging out there.
Nice trails for a short day hike. Trails are easy to moderate. Lots of wildlife and plant life to see. Animals are abundant.

They were very accommodating . We booked last second. Not minute but literally second. We had a blast on the zipline over la fortuna waterfall and loved the baldi hot springs.
Excelente servicio, hostel muy comodo y linda experiencia para de primera visita
Hands down saw the most wildlife on these hiking trails after 4 days of hiking around the volcano. Nice hikes with moderate difficulty and the peninsula trail is mostly paved with some slightly steep area, great view of the lake!
La mejor compañía para reservar tours en Manuel Antonio! Excelente atención y una página web muy amigable con el usuario ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good time, knowledgable guides. We didn’t get there at your time, found local guide for low cost for three of us. Was intimate and learned a lot. If I returned again, I may not get a guide again, but for local knowledge of Flora and Fauna was worth it.

i paid for pictures from my tour and never received them. sent 4 emails and called 3 times. they answered and said it would be about an hour to an hour and a half. 4 hours later no photos. then they only replied to my 3rd email after i sent a 4th saying if i didn’t receive them id be getting a refund the next day. they told me theyd send the pictures “right now” 2 hours later and STILL no pictures. i understand people are busy but this lack of response is highly unprofessional. i got one response to 4 emails sent over the course of 8 HOURS. Now its been an entire day and i have STILL HAVE NOT received my pictures. will never do this again here.

Such a nice place! They were so helpful since the first time I contacted them, responding fast and being so nice. They took our 4 year old kid to have fun with zip lines. Not many companies do that and it’s a putty as they are the ones enjoying the most. They are very professional and you feel safe all the time. The circuit is very nice and fun.
