Its actually a fun experience.. recommend for people who is interested with alchemy things!
I bought the ticket on the spot. Some of people already wait for the next english tour, so we came on the right time. We dont wait very long time and the tour is quite short.

Inside they will told you some stories about the place & alchemy history of the place. our guide is a cute young lady and very patient while we took some of pics.

The group itself is like 15 person i think, a bit crowded since the place is very narrow, especially in the basement. But we take turns, so no biggie. Anyway its quite fun and unique. They also sell some potions that maybe u can buy, but its quite expensive lol.

In a very unassuming building, you find a place with so much history and so much intrigue! As someone who has always been fascinated by high fantasy and the medieval history, this was one of the best experiences I could have had in Prague. I highly recommend people to go check this out.
Disclaimer: Touristy.
It was a cool and (new) experience to learn about alchemy through the guided tour. The English tours are every hour so expect some waiting time. They only take cash and it’s 200CZH/ person. Could be fascinating for kids :)
This museum offers a unique and fascinating experience that takes visitors back to the 16th century, which was considered the golden age of alchemists. They were skilled chemists who dealt with inventions and discoveries related to energy, the creation of new materials, and even potions such as love potions and life extension. The entrance to the museum is also unique and worth seeing. The tour is conducted by an English-speaking guide who fluently explains the history of the place and the people who worked there. Visitors will also have the chance to explore the dark cellars that were used by the alchemists for experiments and keeping their potions safe. The museum is perfect for those who love history combined with dark science fiction, including skulls, spirits of the sky, and secret passages.

Amazing! Guided tour of alchemy rooms including underground through a secret tunnel. The place is mostly replicas but it's realistic. I'm leaving some of the negatives below, but still worth going.

One big negative is that the tour guide rushed through the explanation, it was hard to catch all the information she spilled out (shame). She did give us enough time to look around and take pictures after. One of the coolest parts is how the door is opened through the bookshelf, but she rushed through that too and we didn't get a chance to experience it properly, try it ourselves or make a video.

More on the service, the women at the front that sold tickets were also not the friendliest and kept chatting with each other the whole time. No toilets here! I asked for a toilet and I was told they don't have one (weird?). They also didn't suggest alternatives. There's no place to leave the jackets (winter time), so we asked and they let us put them in a chair behind the desk.

Guided tours only. Cash only here!

Fantastic guided museum of the old alchemist’s laboratories in Prague! Tour guide was informative and willing to answer any questions. Only negative was that the group size isn’t capped, so our group ended up with a few too many people in my opinion. Overall, very cool nice experience!
Went to the museum and Venice Canal Tour because it was part of the Prague Cool Pass and it meant sitting and resting feet from a lot of walking. The museum is a bit eclectic but the models of how the bridge was built are interesting and detailed enough to show how impressive medieval construction was. There is a cafe attached but did not use it. Toilets are 20czk and not included in the entry. The boat tour was quite enjoyable..first there is a boat! A traditional style for the river you are told. Once on the boat you are five beer, soda, tea of coffee and ice cream or gingerbread all complimentary. So already a great time and not even left the dock. The tour is about 45 min and doesn't go far but does show some key sites and the audio guide is informative and in several languages. You get to enter the Devil's Canal and while not very long it is a pleasureable view of a part of the city not seen otherwise. If you have. Prague Cool Pass, it is worth it.

This review is for the chamber music / concert at the palace.

45 minutes: The three musicians for piano, violin 🎻 and flute start at 1:05 and done by 1:50.

A perfect room for a chamber music (no air conditioning, I think …) but wished they played more serious pieces than what they did. Too popular (For Alice … seriously?!), like plain water. If not coffee ☕️ , at least serve some tea 🍵, will you please?

The audience seems more educated than the concert in the churches on the ground we attended yesterday, like the Clementium.

Royal portraits. Nice paintings of different things. Music, armour, cutlery and more collections.

The music concert with Piano, violin and flute was a nice experience. Listening to popular classical music pieces performed in a small hall (with 50 people capacity maybe) was immersive.
Well done modern museum but, hot damn, was that a lot of writing to read. Depending on your level of interest (and how much you want to read) you could spend 30 minutes or a couple hours walking around.

The day we went there were people there but it wasn't super busy, no need to buy a ticket in advance.

Interesting exhibition of the country from before WW2 right up to the fall of the communist block.
Really shows what people went through, the hardships, torture and just every day struggle under an oppressive regime.
The shame is that communism is intended to never let that happen, but humans will be humans.
Very enjoyable. Not cheap but not too expensive.
This is basically a museum about the history of the Jews in Europe.
Museum multimedia life in the times of Charles iv and animated Prague etching from 1600’s. We worth a browse. Heavy on church construction but still contains many fascinating insights.
Such a wonderful exhibition.
This Museum has had everything you could ask for:
- very kid-friendly (with creative & interactive play section in addition to the exhibition)
- cheap prices (ca. 4-9€)
- very in depth (about the history of Prague and Charles IV)
- while still informing in many different and creative ways to keep you engaged (audio giuded videos, 3d Prints, Laser projectors, exhibits etc.)
- in Czech and in English
- kind museum employees
- right in the city centre
You could really feel the love and effort that has been put in this exhibition. We had a great time an I will definitely recommend it to anyone, I hear is planning to visit Prague one day.
This is a hidden gem for those who interested in learning about Prague and Charles IV. It closes every Monday. The front door might be closed and doesn’t seem welcoming just open the door yourself. There are not many people at all during my visit, but it’s very a nice museum to visit with using techs and interactive approach, I love the staffs here they are so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

A nice residence/palace of a prominent Czech noble family inside Prague Castle, now returned to the original family after the fall of the iron curtain. It contains one of the Bruegel paintings on the seasons (3 are in Vienna, one in New York) and two nice Canaletto paintings. There is an original manuscript of Beethoven’s 3rd symphony (Eroica) dedicated to one of the Lobkowicz’s ancestors. There is also a spectacular view of Prague from the terrace. Worth a visit if you have time.
it‘s nice because you can enter with the castle circuit ticket but it’s not that big of a deal

Wonderful museum with a delightful collection of paintings, ceramics, armoury, musical instruments, and sheet music from the collection of the Czech royal family.

The audio guide is wonderful, the terrace offers stunning views, and every day at 13:00 there's a 60 minute classical music concert, which I *highly* recommend!

It transported us to the times of kings and queens, of Czech royalty and the flourishing city of Prague.

A wonderful experience that was the highlight of our trip to Prague!
Very nice and calm museum, a bit hidden away which is why I guess it isn't packed. They make good use of relatively new technologies to display the past. The exhibition about Charles IV had some very well done videos and there were two city models where they used a laser projector to step by step explain how the city of Prague grew during the middle ages, which was very cool!
Very informative, mostly about the politics of communism. I would have liked to see more about common life for Czech people during those times.
One of the best museum in Prague. It's really cheap in comparison at how much you can see. Perfect for families: children's activities are many and various.

Nice little museum on the history of the Charles bridge. It wasn't super informative and smaller than I thought, but still an interesting place if you like architectural history.
Quite a nice museum of the collection of a very rich family. The price is fair and there are some truly beautiful decorations. I am not giving it five stars since I found it quite boring at times

This part of the Jewish museum is really nice. I think it would be a good idea to visit all of the synagogues in the Jewish museum path. They are all very beautiful and have a lot of history.

very informative synagogue where you learn the general history of Jews in Europe over the centuries and the long history of their persecution
What an experience to go back in time and read the text and time line and how surprest the people where the CCCP (iron curtain) just had their way and crushed every day common family and put them to hard work 14-16 hours a day 6 days a week.its been a delight spending a long weekend in Prague amazing weather it was great to cool down inside the museum of communism it was well set out on several floors with a cafe and gift shop all with air conditioning I mustn't forget the little film show enough room for about 20 - 30 people. So if you're stuck for something to do if the weather looks dodgy like for us and not enough time to to much and you like history give it a go also the under ground is right there

It is a good place to check out and doesn't take a lot of time if you have a lot you want to see in Prague. The exhibits are designed well. You get a sense of the impacts that communism had on the lives of every day people. Children should see this museum to see that communism is horrible and a bad idea.

nice experience, good job curating the exhibition, i am a big reader and i managed to read most of the texts in the time i had planned to visit the museum (3 hours), good opening hours
We were a group of American college students and two professors, and we had Pavel as a guide. It was fascinating to hear a first person perspective of living under communism in Prague. I loved him as a guide: he made our visit much more enlightening.
Lovely informative little museum with some nice displays. A pleasant ending the the previously taken boat trip
Extensive museum in restored medieval houses near the Tyn Church. Great introduction to life in the reigh of Charles IV & medieval Prague. Very inventive graphics & videos with artefacts & information in Czech & English 🇨🇿
Beautiful little museum, which you can visit by cutting the same ticket for a cruise to Vltava. Its entrance is to Charles Bridge Tower. In front of its entrance you will see sailors ready to inform you and sell you a ticket. Inside you will see a life-size representation of workers who worked for the construction of the bridge. You will also find a very nice small café, where you will taste fresh local sweets and it is worth making a stop there.

Really great collection of a high aristocracy living standards through the Holy Roman Empire going back through 15th century. For those that are interested in genuine historic artefacts and a story that goes along with them, you can spend hours here. We took about two hours to go through with the included audio guide but you can take longer if you delve deeper into the individual items, their history, and the historical context behind them. We were here in shoulder season and it was not busy but I would probably recommend getting tickets ahead of time in peak season.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Charles Bridge Museum during my trip to Prague, and I must say it was a captivating experience that immersed me in the rich history and culture of this iconic landmark. Here's my review of the Charles Bridge Museum:

Upon entering the museum, I was immediately struck by the impressive collection of artifacts and exhibits on display. The museum beautifully showcases the history and significance of Charles Bridge, which spans over six centuries. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, providing visitors with a comprehensive understanding of the bridge's construction, architectural features, and its role as a cultural symbol.

The museum's layout is well-designed, guiding visitors through different sections that highlight various aspects of the bridge's history. I appreciated the interactive elements incorporated throughout the exhibits, including touchscreens, audio guides, and multimedia presentations. These interactive features brought the exhibits to life and offered a more engaging and informative experience.

One of the highlights of the museum is the collection of historical photographs and artworks depicting Charles Bridge over the years. It was fascinating to see how the bridge has evolved and served as a backdrop for significant events throughout Prague's history. Additionally, the detailed replicas of the bridge's statues allowed me to appreciate their intricate craftsmanship up close.

The museum also offers insightful information about the bridge's legends, myths, and folklore, adding an element of mystery and enchantment to the experience. I particularly enjoyed learning about the various statues' stories and the significance they hold in Prague's cultural heritage.

The staff at the Charles Bridge Museum were friendly and knowledgeable, readily available to answer any questions and provide additional information. Their passion for the subject matter was evident, and their enthusiasm further enhanced my visit.

While the Charles Bridge Museum offers a fascinating exploration of the bridge's history, it would benefit from additional interactive displays or multimedia installations to further engage visitors. Incorporating more hands-on activities or virtual reality experiences could provide an even more immersive and interactive learning experience.

Overall, the Charles Bridge Museum is a must-visit for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking to understand the significance of Charles Bridge in Prague's cultural identity. Its well-presented exhibits, informative content, and passionate staff make it an enriching experience that leaves visitors with a deeper appreciation for this iconic landmark.

Part of the complex of synagogues in Prague’s Old Town
The Maiselova Synagogue is a beautiful old synagogue near the Old Town Square. The interior is devoted primarily to remembering the history of the Jewish community in the Czech lands from the Middle Ages and onwards, with all the sadness and travails that were endured by the community during that time. The tickets for this synagogue are not sold individually and are instead part of the wider ticket that is sold. So it is best to plan to see this in conjunction with the other nearby synagogues, such as Pinkasova, Spanelska, etc.

Very beautiful and interesting exhibit
Overall very educational facility that teaches about communism from a Czech perspective. There is also some brief information about WWII as well. However, I felt like there were not enough physical objects from the Soviet era and most of the exhibits were just text on a wall about information I could have found online…

It's a very well kept and beautiful palace. I went to the classical music concert which was excellent. The space was decorated with amazing art work and it was an intimate setting. I highly recommend seeing the classical concerts there. It's only £38 for two tickets and lasts an hour. Plus you can see the rest of the museum after which has a beautiful balcony on the top floor that overlooks Prague.
Its right next to the entrance of Charles’s bridge. It houses few interesting relics.
Small but really interesting. A lot of precious informations about the bridge and it's history. Nice views over the bridge.

Very nice museum with beautiful paintings from 1600-1800 and more. The fine porcelain wears were breathtaking. The museum has beautiful ceiling arts and a balcony with a great view. And a free toilet is included in the admission fee (ask the staff for the code).

Maisel Synagogue is one of the historical monuments of the former Prague Jewish quarter. It was built at the end of the 16th century which is considered to be the golden age of the ghetto. Since then its appearance has changed several times, its actual style is neo-gothic
You will never look at Charles square the same way. I’ve found the museum very interesting and very engaging. Not at all a series of boring artefacts, but a lot of videos, models and projection, or a mix of the three. The name of the museum is confusing though as the main museum of the city of Prague is in Florenc and closed temporarily.
Whereas on the 1st floor was the main exhibition “In the footsteps of Charles IV,”, on the basement was also a very interesting exhibition about Jaroslav Foglar, a famous Czech writer for children and the exhibition was reconstituting the Prague streets and atmosphere described in his books. You also see references to comics Jan Fischer drew from his books. This exhibition, unlike the first one, isn’t English friendly but you can ask for the 2 printed sheets explaining the display.

We actually stayed in a VRBO across the street, but we loved staying in that part of town. It's away from the busy plaza but close enough to easily walk to it.
We went on a boat ride which was very nice and informative. Access to the museum was included in the boat ride. The history of the Charles bridge is described among other things. Very interesting. They serve cake and coffee as well.
