we arrived 1 hour earlier than the reservation time, it was great that the staff arranged a place for us immediately (although a bit cramped) but still ok for us to sit and talk comfortably, the cocktail drinks were great and special, suitable for gathering with friends on weekends (prices are also very reasonable) !!! will come back 💗

I was in Cologne for a few days on a work trip and stumbled upon this absolute gem of a bar after grabbing dinner next door. What a find! The vibe is cozy with a cool, speakeasy feel—definitely the kind of place you can lose track of time (and maybe a few too many drinks 😜).

Service? Spot. On. Shoutout to Nicky, the life of the bar! His storytelling was an unexpected highlight—made the night so much fun, I almost forgot I was in town for work.

Cocktails? Well, the one recommended to me wasn’t quite my vibe, but hey, recommendations can be hit or miss. The rest of the drinks ordered were on point—these guys are clearly pro-level mixologists.

All in all, this place is a must-visit when you're in Cologne. Great drinks, amazing service, and a killer atmosphere. Cheers! 🍸

Wonderful atmosphere, really delicious food , very tasty and special cocktail. The only thing I would like to change is the music, it could have been better.

Little gem of a cocktail bar with one of the best espresso martini I ever had. The free water on the table is a nice add on, so is the Wodka shots. We had a great time. And also the mocktails were delicious and didn't only taste of sugar like in other places. They do have a separate smoking area inside which surprised me and sitting close means you still smell a bit of smoke. But that's a minor inconvenience for the delicious cocktails 🍸🍹

A pity they didn't had the samosa.. photos of it looked really crispy... food reminds me of Indian southern food... Tasted like thosai and the various sauces... Food looked simple but were really flavorful... The beef reminded me of rendang.. first time tasting Ethiopian food 👍

Really nice restaurant! Delicious food -also vegetarian and vegan friendly- and super comfortable place.

If you've never had Ethiopian/ Eritrean food, you will love the warmth of the owner and the delightfully colored food, with the option to eat with hand or using cutlery, surrounded by over the top "African" decor.

If you've had prior experiences with this cuisine, you might be disappointed. It was rather underwhelming to get food lacking the wholesome and hearty essence of what the cuisine stands for.

The quantity to price ratio is disproportionate and the texture and flavours, mediocre. We were also awfully disappointed at the Injera quality, texture and size. But the Dju dju beer is worth trying.

Unfortunately we did not have a good time. The cocktails were average, and the service was poor. We made a reservation for our group, and arranged a menu in advance. But when we wanted to leave early because the atmosphere was not good, they told us to uphold the reservation and pay the pre determined amount. In no way they tried to improve the situation and forced us to pay up. This is not the way to handle your customer...

Nice place to visit. Had a really amazing food and every element of the dish was just splendid in flavours and well presented. Value for the service and also the staff there is very nice and friendly. Worth visiting.

Thanks to Luigi and and Nicki for the amazing service. 4 really high quality Drinks for around 60€ - the Drinks really tell their own story. When asking questions, the bartenders and staff not only answer, but answer in a way that shows they love their craft. I definitely recommend The Grid Bar to anyone from cologne as well as anyone visiting.

(Try the "Don Papa" with 4 different kinds of scotch, maple syrup and bacon. Trust your local guide.

Amazing bar with great drinks and whiskeys (can't say I tested anything non liquid here). The owner is clearly devoted to his art - and it shows. We had an amazing time and the next time I'm in Köln, I'm dropping by again! Thank you for a great evening.

We found this last minute while cycling to city centre. What a gem!!! Everything from service to our nights sleep were excellent. Super friendly and helpful people. Great food at hotel and a sweet breakfast cafe across the street. I’d give it more than 5 stars.

A great place to show off and take instagrammable pictures but in our experience not a place for good cocktails. As cocktail lovers, we went there on an exploration tour and were curious to discover the creativity. Of the 3 different cocktails we had, mine was the most interesting. However, it was nowhere near the quality - in terms of taste, balance, inspiration - that we know from other place (that are actually less expensive). Also, the odour from the outdoor (cigar!) smoking lounge didn't help our experience.

We travel with our dogs all around Europe and in this hotel we had a very friendly experience, we had the chance to have dinner with our pets with no drama and the guests and especially the team of restaurants was very very lovely with all of us. Thank you very much. The dinner was perfect, and the beers were a touch of heaven!

Of you are looking for a Cigar Lounge and High End Drinks crafted by Marian and team (some of the best the German Bar scene has to offer), this is where you head to. Extensive and well curated drinks menu and a small but fine Davidoff Cigar selection. Ensure to ask the top staff on what goes well with what - they will safely guide you through the many options (signature drinks, bottled drinks, spirits etc.). Beautiful interior design and a cool outdoor lounge which is heated - what a delight!

Good hotel, food was not bad neither great

After the high rating here I thought this must be something special. I was pretty disappointed.

The waitress was inexperienced and overwhelmed. The food was a bit flavourless and served cool or cold. The meat dishes included very little meat. The restaurant itself is draughty and cold in winter. Hygiene was substandard. They won't pay for a Spotify subscription, so you listen to ads.

Prices okay. Staff friendly enough.

We had an amazing intercultural experience! The food is really tasty, the owners are very nice and friendly, prices are totally correct, just think of bringing cash with you.

We came to Lübeck for business trip, but there were not so many choices in this moment to stay in a hotel for two nights,especially our secretary made a mistake didn’t book a hotel…that’s why we stay here. The most worst hotel I have ever been in my life!! The curtain in shower room is red…the flush button ,the mirror are broken .The wall is sharp stone (be careful,you may hurt yourself) Looks like a haunted hotel!! NEVER AGAIN! I rather stay in the car to sleep. If you have better choices don’t choose this hotel, room 23.

I sat at this place by chance and ordered a mango beer & vegetarian samosas. I just wanted to pass time while waiting for a friend, but the place made me so happy! The lady who served me was very nice and the service was quite fast. I enjoyed my my mango beer and the samosas a lot too, for 7.50 in total. The location is very nice too and it's really fun to sit outside and watch bikers pass by. I will try their food as soon as I can!
Update: I have now tried many of their vegetarian& vegan meals. This actually became one of my favorite spots. The food is great, service is fast, everyone is very nice. Awesome place!

This bar was quite a nice experience. It didn’t look like much from the outside and you had to ring to get inside, this in turn led to the bar not being overly crowded compared to other places in Cologne on a Saturday night.

We were promptly seated and got a cocktail menu that visually looked great and had us at multiple cocktails thinking „ok interesting!“ - not just the standard cocktails. They do the standard cocktails as well, just don’t have them listed on the menu - just ask for them.

While our orders were taken quite fast the service to actually get the cocktails to the table was rather slow. We waited at least 20min on each order, which felt a bit long to mix three drinks, especially with three bar keepers.

The drinks were both visually and taste-wise amazing. But they were small for a 12-15€ drink. Some felt like literally 5 sips and the drink is nearly finished already. Combined with the long waiting time we spend more time waiting than enjoying the (admittedly great) cocktails.

Ambient wise the bar was great, they had a DJ and everything felt right. They even had an outdoor area which looks pretty promising. They had heat lamps so it was still OK to sit outside even in November. The restrooms were nice and clean, no complaints here.

Overall a rate this for four stars. It’s nice if you want a relaxing night out, but know that you’ll wait and also will spend quite a bit of money. You have to decide if that is worth it for you.

Stayed at the hotel and ate at the restaurant. Room was more clean than what had become common standard. Restaurant menu was a bit dated but made to high standard and service was above excellent. Best in the city.
