Lac de Trécolpas: Breathtaking Beauty with Easy Trails

The protected area covers some 679 km², consisting of a central uninhabited zone comprising seven valleys: Roya, Bévéra, Vésubie, Tinée, Haut Var and Cians (in Alpes-Maritimes) plus Verdon and Ubaye (in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), as well as a peripheral zone comprising 28 villages.
Many of them are perched villages, such as Belvédère at the entrance to the spectacular Gordolasque valley, concealing great architectural riches (numerous churches decorated with murals and altar pieces by primitive Niçois painters). More than 150 rural sites are located within the Park. Around Mont Bégo there are petroglyphs pecked out on schist and granite faces. They have been dated from the late Neolithic and Bronze Ages.

Nice view, local people are welcoming tourists, only language a problem for nonfrench people.
Schon lange her, dass ich dort war, darum kann ich nicht sagen, wie es heute dort aussieht. Die Landschaft war atemberaubend und mit Abstand mein schönster Urlaub bisher. Ich plane wieder eine baldige Reise dorthin.

This place is super cool, it's got a whole bunch of history and artifacts which I didn't expect to see, gifts from Queen Victoria, Charles Dickens, it was really cool and beautiful grounds. Entrance was super cheap, staff were super nice and parking was super free
We just stopped for lunch but found so much more.
Beautiful castle and garden. Interior is not so fascinating as exterior. But for 3 euro it is ok to get in. Tickets have entry time. They control how many people is in (and it is good), but you may need to wait a bit. We walked through the garden and it is amazing.
You need a separate ticket for exposition. The woman on the pay desk has not told me. I just asked for 2 adult tickets. When i was told this at the exposition entrance, i was lazy to go back to buy tickets again.
Not wheelchair friendly. You may be able to walk through the garden, but no way to get into the castle.

Beautiful natural park with a dense forest. Trans-semoinnaisse bike path is superb!
Quirky place once owned by the chap that wrote a book about hating the french. lots of William morris in the house with some interesting artifacts and it’s a nice place to have a picnic. The lake walk is lovely. Car park is free as is the grounds. A ticket to the house was only 3 euro but worth booking ahead and the coffee in the salon de tea was nice.

It's amazing place.
I was brought up near the chateau when it was standing at a ruin. It is so nice to see it restored in such a lovely fashion. I also love what they've done with the walkway through the swamp around the lake.
Mega schöner pass ! Direkt nach tinee . Hab übernachtet mit dem Zelt was kein Problem war .

Good place for a bike ride. The only problem is the up- downhill going on and on, but the scenery was worth it.

Dommage qu il n ait pas été rénové...avec la donation faite au Conseil général.. le nouveau pont ou passerelle n est pas très jolie. Mais cet endroit reste un lieu privilégié avec de belles balade rt lap nostalgie de ne pays voir kes 2cv camionnettes ...et l ancien propriétaire qui vendait ses petits pots dr miel ...

Espace très sympathique et facilement accessible, plusieurs chemins sont présents autour de l'étang et au bord du ruisseau. Le lieu est verdoyant et paisible, idéal pour se promener ou profiter des machines de sport.
The Regional Park of the Ardennes is a place full of magic and history.
I did a 3-hour horse ride between pines, oaks and plains, it was amazing!
We started the ride at 3.00pm and came back around 6.00pm. The image of the sunset between the pines and the moss that surrounds them remains in memory, it's worth a look!
I visited this region in October, and at this time the north of the France can look very fresh. So, I advise you to take a warm jacket and good walking shoes.
If you horses are not to your liking, a simple hike may suit you. The paths remain affordable for pedestrians, bicycles or horses.

Very beautiful national park
The Parc naturel régional des Ardennes is worth a visit because of the unique nature to be found in this region, such as forests, rivers and lakes, as well as the opportunity for outdoor activities.
Extensive forest on rolling hills, and slow rivers. Lovely villages & châteaux. Just sit in the forest and listen to dozens of different bird songs or by a pond and see the fish rise. You can make long walks over the path, see some horses...

La réserve naturelle est à cheval sur les départements de Meurthe et Moselle et des Vosges.
Le site a été classé en réserve naturelle régionale. Elle est entièrement incluse dans le site Natura 2000.
La richesse du site est exceptionnelle.

Agréable endroit. Il serait peut-être judicieux de revoir les panneaux de signalisation qui sont rares ou mal orientés... quant à l'observatoire il est idéal si vous voulez observer le haut des roseaux qui recouvrent l'étang et si vous n'êtes pas de taille moyenne...
Just drive through here, stopped at a few small villages in the midway. Nice drive amongst the sunflowers fields

Ressourçant. Piste cyclable entretenue parfaitement.
Really nice piece of nature. Wonderful landscapes and stable weather for hiking up to the saddles as late as early winter. Plenty of hiking trails, besides the most popular GRs, in almost every valley. Trail marking is visible and with suitable maps, there shouldn't be any problems with orientation, especially above the tee line. Most of the mountain cabins (refuges) can be used as overnight shelter during winter, as well.
Stunning little Chateaux, really well kept with beautiful gardens and extremely reason price. Good for a couple of hours, more if you eat and walk around the lake.
Nice garden to leisurely stroll around. Castle itself is a bit small and holds a mish mash collection, representing the living conditions of its famous historical owners. There are thorny leaves on the assorted flat surfaces and chairs to prevent you from sitting down. Very cheap entry fee compared to other sites (adult 3 Euro) . Café was closed (Covid).
I went by foot to this place starting from Hardelot-plage in July 2021. The castle is very nice located and it is very well maintained. When I was there, it was closed, but you could enter the courtyard and climb up some stairs at the walls. Perfect to take some nice pictures! The yard outside of the castle is amazing too, very nicely landscaped and well done… you can walk around here and take some extra nice pictures!
Definitely worthy to pay a visit to this Castle when you are in the surroundings!

Was there to watch a Tour de France stage but was impressed with the number of butterflies and the architecture.

What are u talking about, what kind of natural park. It’s just a pine and fir-tree plantation. There is deforestation everywhere. You can see it by the new small trees or freshly cut tree stumps. Huge vehicles are constantly passing by. Moreover, there is a strange chemical smell from time to time while you’re driving , so, probably they use some special biocides etc in order to fumigate insects, like Spain for ex. Not a pleasant journey. Natural park must be a park, not a felling.

C'est toujours très agréable de se promener au bord du ruisseau de Bellefontaine, les chemins y sont biens matérialisés, propres et l'on peut voir beaucoup de cygnes sur l'étang

Beuatiful views in a gorgeous area with varied hiking, mountainbiking and climbing opportunities, all within walking distance or a short car ride away. We go every year and still haven't seen everything or gotten bored of the area yet.
A very picturesque wonderful place to spend some 4 hours with the whole family! Suitable for all ages, with calm easy walks around the fields. Horses, cows, donkeys grazing lazily in the meadows.
Playing freesbee or throwing ball in the fields.

Très joli espace naturel, je suis restée longtemps à cette endroit très agréable très calme à part le bruit de l'eau du barrage, loin de tout bruit urbain prête à y retourner une autre fois mais se coup si avec mes enfants, de belles randonnée à faire tout au tour, accès facile car tout prêt dans joli petit village. Je recommande !
A wonderful patchwork of woodland, fields and small villages the Parc naturel régional du Perche is the most wonderful area to just drive around aimlessly getting lost and stumbling across excellent restaurants, cafes and bars, a great place to spend some quality time. If you ever find yourself in this neck of the woods be sure to visit, you won't be disappointed, well worth 5 stars.

Superbe site reposant et où l'on peut admirer un paysage naturel
An interesting castle with rooms set out with historical items relevant to social and state history. Digital audio guide available to explain every room and many items in each room you carry around with you. Lots of great walks to do outside too. Can take several hours to do it all or maybe quicker if you prefer. Worth a visit.
Absolutely stunning views, and crazy that it's only 2 hours from Nice! Slopes here are quite difficult, so take it easy. The black slopes in the U.S. are way tamer than the black ones here 😅

Quite small but the entrance is cheap so it was a nice little break. They have an Elizabethan theatre that is pretty active, unfortunately we did not get a chance to see a show. The gardens are small but nice. Just don't go there thinking you are going to visit a big estate and you will have the right type of expectations.
Great green space to have a quick rest and breadth. Unfortunately the wc are not the best ones.
A hidden area with lots of natural surprises, not just pine trees and sand but nature reserves, amazone-like rivers that you can canoe down, natural lakes you can swim in or sail on. One of the best open air museums in France.
A huge man-made forest of pine trees, flat as a pancake. A testament to the spirit of 19th century social planning.

Great Manoir with a huge parc and lots of horses and beanstocks and a playground.
Beatiful park, you can make long walks over the path, see some horses and enjoy in the cafe restaurant by the turistic info office. Unfortunately I couldn't get into the brasserie because timing. TIP check the opening hour.
