Magasin aldi pajeaud, le nettoyage laisse à désirer dès le matin, une caissière récente, ne dis jamais bonjour, merci et aurevoir minimum de respect à ce poste pour les clients.

I am deeply saddened and concerned by an incident that took place when I visited this store today. I am in Paris for a few days as a tourist and this incident left a sour taste and discourages me from coming back to visit.

I can't believe that a brand like Carrefour endorses such behaviour by their staff and encourages random security checks on brown/black people.

I purchased some items and completed the payment using my card at around 6:40 PM. The lady at the cashier counter where I paid for the items said that they were out of plastic bags, so I placed all of the items in my backpack. After this, I was standing beyond the store's exit, in the corridor of the mall and waiting for my wife who was still inside the store.

My wife called me and said she wanted to purchase a few more items and that she was going to stand in the billing queue again. When she was done billing and paying for the remaining items using her card (around 6:52PM), I went over to the exit to place the items she purchased in my backpack

When I opened my backpack, the cashier peeped inside it and the moment he realised I had groceries in the backpack, he shouted at me in French and asked for a receipt. Fortunately, I had the receipt in my pocket and I showed it to him. He grabbed it and walked off angrily without a word, abandoning all the customers who were waiting to bill their items and handed the receipt over to a man who claimed to be the security. The security guy then comes over and points to my bag asking me to open it and take out everything. I asked him if they can explain in English what is happening but all he kept saying was 'bag'. I then had to open my bag and take out every item and place it on his table. At the end, he just said 'C'est Bon' and neither of them had the courtesy to explain why I was being searched or even acknowledge the fact that I cooperated with them despite being humiliated in public and not being provided with any reason for this search. When I questioned them and tried to take out my phone to use Google translate to communicate, they just walked off.

I would like to understand:

(i) Under what authority can cashiers decide to search me and what is the decision based on? Was there any suspicion of theft? I don't see how they could have even suspected theft since I've never heard of a thief walking out of a store with stolen items and then going back to the store to pick up his wife along with some other items that she paid for in full.

(ii) Why the cashier didn't back off and let me go once I showed him a receipt for groceries from the store that was generated 12 minutes earlier. If he was still suspicious, couldn't he just walk over to his colleague at the next counter and check? What was the need to call security and have me empty my backpack and do a search?

(iii) Is it the brand's policy to treat groceries in a brown man's bag as stolen unless he can prove that they are purchased? What would have happened if I didn't have the receipt?

(iv) Why no one had the courtesy to even explain what was happening and explain why they needed to search my bag- any explanation (even in French) would have been much appreciated.

Someone else in the check-out line mentioned that the security personnel were checking a lot of other people and all of them were people of colour. This is very concerning as it tantamounts to racial profiling. My wife also said that the cashier kept yelling at her in French and kept gesturing at her to stand in a specific spot without moving till she finished paying for the products. We've never seen a cashier be this painful.

All in all, I'm shocked at the sheer stupidity and lack of empathy from the staff at the store. This was an extremely disappointing experience and I hope to never visit the store again.

PS: If I'm reading the invoice correctly, it appears that the cashier person who caused this incident was sitting at counter no. 23 and the one that billed the items I purchased earlier was sitting at counter no. 21.

Super OK!

Clean on most days, including space around it,and safe to shop. Most if not more essential items can be found for your daily activities.

Magasin qui semble complet, je n’ai pas l’habitude d’aller chez cette enseigne. Le stand boulangerie était vide le dimanche midi. J’ai pris un donut au sucre. il n’était pas frais du tout. Immangeable. Dommage.

They said they close at 930 but it not true the security don't allow yo enter at 9 15 pm

I like such markets like this. There you can find majority of everyday products that people use in everyday life. Some of the prices are high then average but some of them are affordable for lower price.

Has everything you need at good prices! I was looking for a box of cereals and I’ve spent 30 minutes trying to find it(maybe because I wasn’t actually paying attention as I was looking to get one can of Monster Energy to get some sugar into my system).
I was happy being able to find everything I needed and got hope with a big smile on my face. LOL

This indoor market is food and wine heaven, a must visit in the city famous for gastronomy.

Although they are hard to communicate with them but you will find every thing you need under one roof

Sunday morning shop is a real thrill. Get in, get out, don't get yelled at. Had the honor of being the final customer at the self-checkout 🏆 however I realized once I got home that the last product I picked up was the wrong thing and I only grabbed it in a panic as I was being rushed out.

They carry several harder-to-find vegan products like multiple brands and varieties of cheese but it's kind of hidden and not in the place I would've expected.

Not bad overall, will come back when I've got more time to find all the best organic and vegan products.

I have been getting my groceries delivered for years and I am very happy with service provided it’s very convient .
The checkout lady there is very kind and friendly to her customers ..

Set yourself a budget because you can easily over spend due to so many tempting options

A fabulous array of fine food. Tourists note that there aren't public areas to sit and eat except at individual restaurants or outlets. It's still cool but you have to select a venue.

As a tourist hot spot (when we were there, it was 40% tourists), I would suggest more public tables and chairs so people can sit and eat all of the wonderful things on offer.

Wide variety of products to choose from at reasonable prices. This location also has some clothing options available.

Great food market to sample some foods and grab a bite to eat. There is a small park next to the hall where you can sit on a bench in the shade.

The French Fresh Market taken to the highest level, created by one of the most important cheffs of the country, one of the many institutions he left after his death, and that are today a part of the local culture and a must-visit for tourists in Lyon

For any serious foodie traveler you must must go here. Contained within is the best of the best. I discovered my own complete lack of self control and had to leave with only 4 or 5 bags of deliciousness. Go. Go. Because I said so!

Fairly karge supermarket with plenty of fresh produce.

Walked half an hour from all the fine restaurants at Vieux to this place. Not very busy on Sunday, so many delicious choices, so much culture. The waitress at the seafood bar is so sweet!

Fine supermarket with parking lot. Not too big, not too small.

Great selection of well prepared foods. Not too expensive. Not crowded. Very limited seating for your meal. Best for takeaway to a park or hotel.

今天去取网上订的订单。店员非常热心，而且很快就把订单准备好了。服务非常好，离我家也近。我会常来。

The first thing you notice when you come in is that it is very very dirty. All the fresh products doesn’t look tempting, they are old or smashed. Products are missing from
the shells all the time. You will find just basic products nothing from abroad. Staff looks very bored and it’s obvious they don’t want to work there. I don’t find anything good in this shop. Million years behind from good shops like SuperU or Eleclerc.

Always a good selection of fruits, meats, wines, and alcohols! However, I'd stay clear of the sushi. I became so sick with food poisoning that I had to go to the emergency room and was hospitalized. The doctors struggled to treat it as well. This is a risk of eating raw meats so I'm unhappy it happened but also still go to this Carrefour. The rest of the store is great and can be easily accessed from multiple doors into the mall during daytime business hours.

Encore une fois je me fais arnaquer par le même magasin! Les articles non reçu via UberEat qui ont été facturés! La première fois le cassier m’a fait payer 13€ pour 200g se pistache! Je vais refaire une réclamation!

Ne peut servir qu'en dépannage.
Le Carrefour du Boulevard de Charonne est 10 fois plus sympa et agréable, et comme je suis à mi-distance entre des deux, le choix est vite fait.
Attention, le quartier est très concurrentiel, entre les supermarchés, les enseignes plus pointues (bio, local), souvent d'ailleurs nous naviguons de l'une à l'autre.
Beaucoup ont disparu avec le temps, et ça se jouait souvent sur l'accueil.

They have most things for regular grocery shopping but the vegetables and fruits are not of the best quality so check for rotten spots etc. Also, check the dates on the perishables in the coolers, a lot of them are most of the time close to expiring so make sure you take one from the back.

Le caissier a pesé les pistaches 506 g ! Très étonnée je revérifie à la maison et c’est seulement 200g ! Nous avons payé presque 14€ pour 200g de pistaches!!!!!!

For a smaller Carrefour it was well stocked, clean and the usual prices. Good wine fair on at the moment.

Friendly staff, clean well organized store. Huge selection. Delivery a big plus, very necessary when one has no car. Will be back again for sure.

Specific food from countries are classified and one could easily find them and one gets help from the workers if identified. They work in casual clothes which make hard to target one and call for help.
In addition to that, at the entrance of the shop, I was take a back by the very strong smell coming from the shop. Otherwise there a huge amount of products and one could find his or her happiness.

Tried to get a wine box for 6 bottles of wine but was told there wasnt any. Was handed a large fruit box instead. Not too helpful.
I wanted an empty box to put wine from the shelves.

Great selection. Location is a bit depressing but there's a bus that runs from Wimereux too.

As a tourist I loved seeing all the amazing food products not available at home

Et c'est ainsi tous les jours...gestion du personnel extrêmement mauvaise ou économie à outrance sans se soucier du client?
Dans le bureau, il y avait la responsable et un autre caissier. Le caissier a ouvert une deuxième caisse suite à ma demande...
Si il faut bien évidemment que les hôtesses/hôtes de caisse puisse se reposer, pourquoi la responsable n'a t -elle pas pris le relais pour ouvrir une deuxième caisse, juste le temps que l'hôte de caisse puisse se reposer?
N.B : la pauvre caissière en place était très sympathique malgré la pression des clients très mécontents d'avoir attendu si longtemps qui l'agressaient.

It is an okay market. Prices are higher than the normal carrefour. Not that clean or organized. The employees not very helpful

Ne pas hésiter à porter plainte à la répression des fraudes (possible par mail).
en 2 jours plusieurs différence de prix constaté, et refus de la caisse de passer au prix affiché : jambon 6 tranche à 2.20 passe à 2.60, soupe à 0.59 passe à 0.99, bordeaux 3l à 8.50 passe à 9.90 et pour finir poularde surgelé fourrée à 7.90 passe à plus de 20 euro !! voir photos, devant le refus de la caissière je dépose une plainte à le répression des fraudes de nanterre.
à messieurs les agents de sécurité, vous devriez surveiller les véritables voleurs, à savoir les responsables de ce magasin, car oui c'est du vol !! Je passe sur les rayons vide et sale, voilà le résultat de réduire et sous payer votre personnel, je suis un ancien directeur de supermarché, votre façon de gérer votre outil de travail et une honte pour notre profession.

Usually a pleasant shopping experience, but there is one slightly balding butcher who is extremely unpleasant for no reason. Made the customers wait for 7minutes and then he had the nerve to be snarky. Avoid him if you can. The other butcher's are quite nice to buy from.

Couvre feu extended , I have been there at 17:25 but the shop didn’t let anyone in anymore . Security guard did send anyone away. That’s 35’minutes prior to the closure, btw the shop and caisse were almost empty. If u communicate 17:30 last entrance, then be precise, people plan with and count on it. There have been many customers that were very confused and frustrated. well it’s time to go to other shops and even buy everything small outside town. Even after the refresh of the interrieur they do still unload during business hours and some of the personal is not really motivated. :-(

My command was late so I left the slot. A Carrefour operator called me and then I went back. However it was impossible to take my order since it was supposed to be delivered already. Conclusion: 120 EUR of groceries lost. I will never enter a Carrefour store whatever form ever again!

This is nice carrefour open from generally 9am to 9pm. Amd this is colossal store having almost everything related to eatable items

This shop is really well-equiped. You can find almost anything you want on a fair price. The shopkeepers are also super-kind. I highly recommend it to.everyone.

Obviously a bit bigger than the Carrefour local supermarket in the main street (Rue Carnot) in the town of Wimereux, but nowhere near the size of most out-of-town Auchan or Carrefour stores in the area.

Fine for anything you need on a few days' stay in the area, but look elsewhere for a better selection of wine, beer etc.

We felt the prices were high ( Nov 2018), compared to visits over the last year or two. This isn't just a result of a worsening £/€ exchange rate - the actual Euro prices seem to be shooting up.

This Carrefour Market is a medium-sized grocery store with a decent selection. They have good produce, a deli counter, a fish counter and a bakery. They are generally not very crowded, though there can be a 10 minute or so wait at the register. They don't have the selection of the big Carrefour Hypermarché up the road, but they do have most all of what I'm looking for on any given day, with convenient parking and fewer hassles than dealing with the giant Carrefour. They also have a café, a pharmacy and a news stand on the premises.

Not too bad... Customer service very kind, downfall is that the underground parking is too far from the store. Not very nice when it's raining.

Nice shop. Clean, good products. The lady at the cash register made no attempt at eye contact and already looked bored out of her mind, even though her shift just started. There is one door which has "entre" with big red letters, yet is out of service. No parking spots to be found nearby, not even paid ones.

The only cold beer available was Heineken, so If you want the local 1664 you have to wait until it cools off, it doesn't make any sense. Staff is friendly and speak English

I've been to France a couple of times and this is a nice, but slightly small Carrefour. Carries enough supplies to stock your holiday home fridge though and then some. Sun block, beach toys, and everyrh6for your summer BBQ. Parking is good, prices of meat are ridiculously high, but that's France for you. Oh, and they don't sell paprika chips, or frietsaus. Have to bring those next time!

Store feels a little dirty but since the surrounding streets are the same way, its no real surprise.

Good range of snack foods and solid supplies and a wide variety of alcohol.

Some items like hard liquor, lighters, and latex prophylactics are kept behind the counter so you'll need to have an awkward conversation in rough French to get them.

Very nice and tidy big supermarket with all the everyday items you might need. Groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and meat, bio products - ideal for everyday or weekend shopping. Prizes lower than monprix and higher than auchan

A market with a huge variety of delicious produce. Excellent for some healthy options bit is sadly very inflated price wise due to tourists.

I visited Paris for several weeks and found this lovely little supermarche. Could find most things I needed during my stay in Paris but the best aspect of this supermarche is its lovely, friendly staff. Such an assest to the supermarche in busy Paris.

I stayed at a nearby hotel. Looking for baby foods everywhere nearby and luckily found this place. All grocery items are in a reasonable price.
