Best Parking lot for motorcycless in United Kingdom

I had pre booked and pre paid to ensure that I had a space because there was a rail strike on. I was let in but there were no spaces. Cars were abandoned everywhere. So do not assume that if you reserve in advance that they will actually reserve you a space. They will just take your money. I did email them about this and needless to say no one bothered to respond.

The car park was very nice, clean, light and mostly decent sized parking spaces. However, I paid up front over £18 to park yesterday evening and when I drove in there were no spaces at all and I didn't secure one for 40 minutes. Lots of us were getting out of our cars and talking to each other and we were all not v happy. I had travelled 2.5 hours and wanted a parking space when I arrived. I'd come from Rugby, another couple I spoke to had driven from Newcastle, another family had little kids in the car who had been driving round the carpark for over half an hour. Basically we paid to drive around Q-park's carpark and waste our petrol. Also the carpark is heated to around 20 degrees which is a bit to warm for people wearing Christmas shopping clothing. So a nice car park but they shouldn't have been showing the word 'spaces' by the entrance when there weren't any.

I’ve used this car park for quite a while as it’s very close to city centre, despite its poor surface condition and as other people mentioned not the best website for payments. But they went too far this time - £100 fine for exceeding parking time by 17 minutes. Didn’t even realised it happened as my phone died that day, after appealing it stating that my phone has died etc got a reply straight away saying they can’t accept my appeal. If you want to appeal again you lose chance of reduced payment. Will avoid at all cost and I would recommend same. I’m sure they will lose much more in a long time period from all the customers that got the fine for such a petty thing

Spaces indicated as available but we found upon entering that there were no empty bays. As with at least a dozen other drivers had to drive round several times waiting for space to become vacant … this took about 20 mins.

Upon leaving that evening we found every level had excessive cars parked randomly outside of marked bays. We found it difficult to exit as coming down ramp could not continue down the next level due to TWO cars squeezed together in a corner beside designated bays.

Clearly this car park had not been monitoring the number of cars being allowed into its premises on Saturday 11 November as the number of cars parked and being charged exceeded the parking bays actually available.

I do not recommend … we paid £17.00 for this awful experience.

DO NOT PARK HERE! I wish I’d seen these reviews before doing so. If you park here you’re very likely to get a very expensive and unfair fine because their machines don’t work so they can scam people out of money. Didn’t let me put in my full registration plate number, and when I appealed they rejected and said I should’ve rang the helpline as if people are just expected to have a charged phone on them at all times. Absolutely disgusting, £60 just thrown away like that for a 11 minute stay

Reasonably priced, well lit car park. Barrierless entry so very convenient if you have the NCP autopay function enabled on your phone app (although that service has been temporarily withdrawn at the time of writing). Not busy at all on the Saturday I visited.

Very easy to access, having the app all I have to do is literally drive in (making sure my card details are up to date & if you have more than 1 car, ensure the car you’re in is the one selected) & drive out again. It takes a photo of your car & uses numberplate recognition. You get charged direct to card very quickly after leaving. No messing with change, cards or tickets. This carpark charged me far less than I expected. Having used Q park before I have always been happy & trusted them. They have cctv everywhere, safe walking zones, tons of spaces that are decent sized, disabled spaces etc, well lit too. Lifts & steps for all abilities to get in & out & very well signposted on the roads. My only problem, which actually wasn’t problem for me, but was for my passengers, was there was no toilet facility, but thankfully there was a petrol station nearby, which was a ‘top brand’ petrol station, which had toilet facilities. I will definitely use this carpark again as I frequent the one in Leeds and I’m also very happy with that one too. I always feel like my car is going to be protected & well looked after. For anybody confused, because if you look the car park up in advance & see there is a shutter down, you think well it’s a 24 hour car park, how do I access it? Well here you go: all you do is drive along the road where it is, (1 way road), go into the middle turning lane. Just keep your eye out for cyclists & busses going in the opposite direction (so you cross that lane, but there is a nice car sized gap in front of this shutter), then just drive up & stop, the automatic shutter will open! Just in case you think the car park is closed because there is a barrier down!

Secure, Central, but Pricey :)

It offers that peace of mind, the automatic shutters were a nice touch too so pedestrians were disallowed from just entering as they pleased.

Has £7.95 all day on the advert but the small print shows that’s only for early bird.

Apparently has no pay stations, none that I could find anyway.

The exit signage is terrible.

The way to pay is via an app, which you can’t download because there’s no signal in the car park.

The app itself is awful with no guest option, forcing you to set up an account.

I now have no option to actually pay the extortionate fee for my stay, only autopay, which I don’t know if it will actually work owing to the fact I couldn’t download the app before I left the car park, because of signal issues.

Literally everything about this car park is unpleasant, just carry on a bit down the road and use Q park instead, or one of the dockside car parks

Firstly, I was lucky to get the last EV charger, but that is where my joy stopped. Plugged in, went to a meeting in Angel Gardens, noted later that on the App that the charging had stopped. When I got back to the car the charger had given me an extra 19 miles in 3 hours charging. The charger was stating "available" but the app was stating "still charging".

Yes I know the EV charging is likely not linked to Q Park but there is a huge amount of advertising in the area from Q Park stating "Charge your EV at Q Parks". I would have it had worked. Had to stop again on the way home for an hour. My plan was to park and charge. (There are 15+ chargers in this car park but only 6 were in use.)

The next issue was that not only were the charges at fault but so was the ticketing machines. My ticket wasn't being read by the pay machine or indeed the door access or indeed the pay at the barrier.

At the barrier I pressed the intercom help button (At this time a queue was forming). I stated the reason why I pressed the button. The answer was "£12". I said "sorry, can you confirm how you know I have been there for £12 worth of parking?" The answer was "There is a value on the screen of £12, pay with your card". I paid with card and the man cut me off. Before I could ask for a receipt.

So - All I can say is, the idea of charging whilst Parking is great, no issues in Liverpool, Leeds, York, Sheffield. But Q Parks Deansgate. What could be broken, appeared to be. As well as the operators charisma and courtesy.

Not a good experience and some £12 down due to no receipt for my expenses.

Lots of spaces, not too claustrophobic either. Quick to get out after a gig at AO Arena with help from staff at the car park helping at the barriers. Mind the bus lane in front when you travel there, our satnav took us right through it and it was quite easy to miss especially at night. Evening rate starts at 6pm so set arrival time to this or later for the evening rate. The difference changing arrival time from 5.30pm to 6pm was crazy.

Prebooked a spot in this car park, and paid extra for a VIP spot which is supposed to help with leaving. On entering the car park, the signage was hopeless. I went round a couple of times, but nothing pointing me to a VIP parking area. I just ended up grabbing any empty bay as like previous reviews have mentioned, it fills up rather quickly. After the concert we were very tired and wanted out. Again, the signage was awful. We followed the exit signs, and it pointed us out the pedestrian door. Not wanting to scratch my paintwork and mow door some unsuspecting concert goers, I went round again. My wife spotted another exit sign, tucked up in the ceiling, sending us up a ramp. A couple of exciting circuits round that floor, declining to go down as the exit sign offered, I eventually found the way out. Disappointing to say the least. The car park itself seemed secure, until I went to walk out - the secure doors were all wide open.... Lovely bright lighting, maybe try putting some better signs up explaining the difference between vehicle exit and pedestrian exit.

AVOID!!!!!! Please please take note of the reviews, this is the most frightening car park in the city and that's just NCP overcharging. Parked here for less than an hour, downloaded app to pay. Decided to move it based on horror reviews. Car park was dead for a Saturday afternoon, now I know why! It's awful, luckily my car escaped without damage but my wallet didn't. Auto charged me 7.95 for less than half an hour should be 2.95. Now having to go through painful process of trying to get a refund. Sign outside warns of thieves about, yes NCP car park will do that to you.

There is both a pay and display ticket booth as well as registration plate recognition system. I paid for a pay and display ticket, then three weeks later got a £100 fine as I hadn't used the vehicle registration plate machine, which was broken. Of course I hadn't kept a parking ticket for 3 weeks to prove I had bought it. This company is scamming the public and deserve to be thrown in jail.

Can everyone report this company as fraud?
I just had to pay PCN even though I purchased a ticket. What’s best they never sent the PCN to my address. I’ve received FINAL NOTICE letter two weeks after demanding £100. How is this even allowed?!!

In a space you can only for one car!

Parked here recently during the evening. It's a "fairly safe" area with lots of passinf traffic. You can lock your bike to the rail and there space for loads of bikes

Functional and clean multi-storey car park.

If you are going to the life centre you can book as discounted rate.

Accessible bays on the ground floor right next to the exit.

I'd give NO stars if I could. Paid for parking here and received a notice not long after to say I hadn't paid and was being fined. I appealed- showed them a bank statement clearly showing I had paid and the appeal was rejected. Do not park here. My colleague also parked here on the same day and paid and the same thing happened to them. Looking at the reviews it seems to be something that happens to a lot of people. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This is a ticketless car park. The signs say that it’s easy to pay later. It is far from easy. After numerous attempts online and downloading the app I still couldn’t pay as it was stating that I needed to enable JavaScript and cookies which I repeatedly did but still to no avail. Eventually, after 4 online chats I paid over the phone, but basically for 2 hours of parking I was robbed from 2 hours the next day trying to pay. Drive on

Terrible car park, awful to navigate and almost impossible to pay - no machine that you can find, so forced to go on line. BUT that won’t go to the payment screen and so encouraged to download app. However at that point the app doesn’t show your ticket! So you can’t pay but all the time the threat of fines if it’s not paid within 24 hrs is hanging there. Customer services doesn’t answer the phone and the on line chat goes in circles. Finally did it by using Microsoft Edge as browser but not before literally losing sleep over it. If you wonder why this car park is almost empty while Q park is packed - that’s why. Disaster. Will never ever park there again.

Paid to park at their machine and got a ticket which we displayed. We were there 30 minutes and then came back to the car park. Just over a week later, received a fine for £100 (£60 if paid within 14 days). I have contested it, but assume that they will just ignore for the next few days so the fine becomes £100. From other reviews on here, I can see that there are a variety of ways they fine people who have also paid to park via their machine and their app. Avoid like the plague.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Paid for more time than was used parking here but was still issued a fine because it took 13 minutes to make the initial payment, which exceeded their posted 10 minute limit. The only reason it took so long to pay was because there were people physically struggling to get thier cars out of the car park, which slowed down the process of parking, and then had to wait for other people already parked up that were struggling to complete their own payments. This place is terrible, which is an accurate reflection of those that operate it.

Another vehicle blocked me in. NCP wouldn't do anything. Ended up having to pay for double parking till the idiot in the BMW moved their shed. Wouldn't recommended using. No actual help from the company should things go wrong on their property.

Parked here twice. The first time I had no issues but the second time, the website to pay was playing up and not accepting payment. After failing to pay online I paid via the machine. Bare in mind that they only give you 10 minutes from entering the car park to pay so like many others I was issued a fine. Just beware that if there is any delay in payment - even if it is not a fault of your own - they will issue you with a fine and appealing is hopeless. Save some money in the long run and park in Trinity.

Parked here over Xmas for 4 days
Came back to my car on Xmas Eve to find it smashed, no valuables on show, they had ransacked my car and stolen approximately £4, over the next 2 days another 8 cars had been smashed and ransacked too.
Entrances are not 'secure' as advertised.
Staircases smell of wee and have blankets/ dirty clothes as if homeless people are staying there.
Was impossible to get a hold of a security guard after as well as one security guard apparently patrols multiple sites

I parked the car here. The result is as shown in the picture. A liquid spilled from the ceiling onto the car. Like concrete water. 1 hour Because of the parking, I will have to have my car washed. Yes, if you want to park a car here, you should also calculate the cost of the car wash. Besides, there wasn't even an attendant to tell me this.

Great parking spot right below the terminal 2 and plenty spaces available there

Use to be a good decent car park, but now gone downhill. No longer a manned carpark or any secruity staff as there use to be. You have to ring Life Centre if there are any issues, plus machines only accept card - many people including myself dont want to put a couple of pounds on a debit card would rather use physical cash and coins.

BOYCOTT NCP! (Would give 0 stars if I could)

This particular car park is the worst I’ve been to, although I wouldn’t recommend parking at any of the other NCP Car Parks in the city centre either. There’s zero security; local junkies sleep and urinate in the stairwells leaving behind rubbish and used needles, and then break into cars every night. NCP do nothing about it and are near impossible to contact.

Had my car broken into twice within the space of 3 weeks and NCP have still refused to provide CCTV. Would highly recommend avoiding NCP Car Parks in general as they’re massively overpriced, have no security, don’t provide CCTV and are totally useless and unhelpful when you report an incident.

Save yourself a few hundred quid in damages and park somewhere else with a secure gated entrance & CCTV monitoring.

What a great facility. It took me 30 mins to secure my bike, change my gear, pack my travel bag and get to the arrivals terminal. Watch the YouTube video of how to get into the 'Over Height Vehicle' Lane.

Free bike parking, what's there no to like.

Pretty nice spot to park your motorbike, and it's free (for now at least). It's close to the main shopping area. But please lock it properly and if possible put a cover on your baby.. Just in case.

Apparently you follow signs to Term 3 as you go towards Term 2. I keep going into Term2 short term parking car park and getting to it through that. Which is going in and down multi levels and out.

Not accessible to the public, it’s a staff motorcycle parking for the local business which is locked

Easy to get to & not too expensive. Some of the bays are very tight to get into but it's the only car park I use when going into Newcastle & it's only 5 minutes walk to the shops...
