Matt and his wife were extremely kind and helpful to me when I came to them with a punctured tire on a vintage bike. They gave me an enormous amount of their time and consideration on how to help with my problem and were very flexible with working around what I could afford. They refitted a wheel for me free of charge which was extremely kind! And made sure I knew the details of the whole process. Will definitely return if I need help with my bike in the future.

Fantastic experience with Matt & Aly whilst upgrading my TT bike. The task was complex given the custom nature of tri bars and retrofitting mechanical shifting with electronic.
We discussed where we'd like to be able to shift the gears in both on the tri-bars and by the brakes. Completely changing the cockpit and retrofitting was no easy task and Aly spent time researching, speaking to manufacturers, all the while in constant communication with the various options to get to what we wanted. They even managed to reuse my older components for another customer so we all came off winners!
Couldn't be happier with the end result, absolutely love it and Devil's Byke will be my go-to from now on.

Had my bike fit with these guys in August 2022 and I left feeling like I'd just bought a new bike! New narrower handlebars, a new shorter stem, correct saddle height and cleat position put me in a much more comfortable position which translated to whole body comfort - less saddle soreness, less numbness in my feet and my knee pain disappeared.
The team were really friendly and incredibly generous. I cannot recommend enough. The biggest difference you can make to your enjoyment on the bike is to get a bike fit, I should've had it done years before instead of suffering and thinking it was normal. Not only was I more comfortable after this fit, I was also much faster!

Ordered a cube supreme to be delivered to Bristol many delays in arriving at Bristol shop had appointment to pick up bike when we arrived at shop bike wasn’t ready no problem went for coffee while bike was built.

Bashed and bent my crank as I was cycling through Withington, chain wouldn't stay on so was pretty stuck. Popped into Withington Cycles where the lovely guys bent the metal back as straight as was possible, which was just enough to get me back the few miles home. It will need a proper fix but they saved my homeward journey and didn't even charge. Very kind, excellent service!
I ordered a Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 625 from TheElectricBikeShop on 27th April 2024. I paid £2299 for the bike as stated on the website at the time, along with a dispatch period of 30th April - 2nd May. A few days later, I received an order processing email, with the dispatch dates being pushed back by a further 2 days. Fine, no problem. This came and went, and numerous calls to their customer service I was given empty promises of an update and that my bike will be dispatched soon. I finally had enough after a whole 10 days after the promised dispatch date had passed and asked to cancel the order. When I did this, they cancelled it without hesitation the same day. No apologies, nothing. Upon checking the website, the bike has increased in price by £200. I suspect they withheld dispatching the bike from me the whole time as I think they may have undersold the bike due to an mis-price on their end. I was never given any reason for the delay from them and they never apologised for this. I think they were waiting and hoping for me to eventually ask them to cancel the order the whole time. Disingenuous and dishonest company. AVOID!

My first experience of Cycling Position was when the chain on my e-Bike snapped on the way to work. The staff were incredibly helpful, fixing the chain for me on the spot and ordering in a new one to fit the next day. Since then I've had my bike serviced there and I've always been really impressed by the work. Highly recommended.

The fit has already revolutionised the way I ride - my core is more engaged, I'm more efficient with my stroke and my positon, although lower, feels so much more natural. James is the owner and fitter there and he absolutely knows what he's doing. His better half Becs is a wonderful front of house rep and also does a really nice wrap job! They have one or two mechanics that work on bikes as well including John, who also got my commuter sorted when it developed a problem on the way into work one day.
As someone who works in retail It's great to receive excellent service - almost better than giving it. The service is second to none, the advice is top notch. The gear they sell is great quality - as James says - 'If I wouldn't use it I won't sell it!' I cannot recommend them highly enough - I have found my new bike shop of choice.

Best bike shop in the area and it is not even close. The gentleman who runs the shop is friendly, approachable and visibly passionate about what he does. The prices are fair and the service is much quicker than at the other bike shops I have been to in the area. Heavily recommend!

James & Becks are super welcoming as everyone says, and James really knows his stuff. Bike fits have always been low on my list, but the ride afterwards was a revelation – loads more power, body English and long-distance comfort. If you want to go faster for further, pound for pound this is the best investment I’ve made for years. Highly recommended!

I have a Giant bike that isn't Electric. Riding, my brake became very loose and worrying about riding down the hill, I went up hill to find a bike shop to see if anyone could help. I went into the electric bike shop in hope and was greeted by 2 extremely helpful team members, who helped with tightening my brake. So I was able to ride it downhill home. Excellent service and such a big help!

Oh dear. Took my bike in on Tuesday, said they'd look at it that day. Phoned on Thursday and said they were waiting for a part that they expected that afternoon and they would sort it either that afternoon or on Friday morning. No sign by the end of Friday. No phone call. Went and took it home. Not fixed. Googled the part and 5 places immediately came up that would deliver the part the next day. They were very nice but my front derailleur still doesn't work

I bought 2 E bikes from this shop - one is perfect and runs like a dream - however the other bike has a problem with the motor as it works intermittently (in the cold, wet winter months) I have taken my bike into the store at least 3 times. The last time was 11 months ago - they promised to contact the manufacturer and get it sorted - sadly my bike is still not working properly:( I feel very vulnerable- as last night the motor cut out on a major roundabout in Bristol - with cars and buses beeping their horns at me as I had no power- meanwhile speedily my partner was able to zoom away on the bike that is perfect. Every time I contact the shop they are very polite and I think something is going to get done but still I’m left with a bike that is unsafe and malfunctioning:(

Matt and Ally are the best! I am an Aussie on an adventure and i brought in my touring bike after 4500kms riding with panniers and needing some love and attention...the care they put into diagnosing the little issues I was having, along with fitting new brakes, straightening my slightly bucked front wheel, getting my mudguard seated correctly meant peace of mind for me. I left the store a very happy customer and then took my bike for a spin up to Devils Dyke and it purred.

The staff here are really friendly and helpful, and were able to take my bike on short notice and complete a wheel change and truing by the next day. They showed me the damage before doing repairs so I understood exactly what was wrong which I appreciated. Very handy location in Withington village. Would highly recommend, it's a nice smaller local business too.

The garage is run by two chilled out blokes who seem like they're happy to cater for all issues. I turned up and one of them said I could either leave it with them, or do the tube swap myself with their gear. I needed the bike asap, so I bought a tube (£5, great price!), and went to work with their gear. He was happy to give me tips here and there, and I was done very quickly. Their pressure guage pumps were also quite handy.
Will be my go-to garage now if I ever need something done on the bike. Great reggae tunes too!

Sent my bike for assembly and the staff were very friendly. Alles (I think that was his name), in particular was very patient and explaining how the different parts work. Also willing to check the saddle height alignment and whether the gears and drive train were working fine. Overall a great experience.

Got a flat tyre on the way to the train station, the guy in the shop was so helpful and quickly changed it there and then, saving the day! Not sure how much it usually costs to replace an inner tube but was pleasantly surprised by the price :)
Loved our purchase of a Trek Pilot 2.1 for US $494.24 (about £350), in beautiful condition and rode really smoothly. The chain was newer and gears worked properly. The owner was great installing the bottle holder and light we purchased also. We spoke a long time explaining we would be selling it back a year later. He explained he couldn't give us the same price but emphasized if the bike was stored inside and maintained properly, 30-50% of sale price could be considered upon review. Our son kept the bike in a sheltered area, locked up and did routine maintenance, riding it weekly, if not more. It really was a terrific bike.
We returned to Cambridge Cyclesmith 9 months later and received £20 for the sale back of the bike. We explained the upkeep and careful care of the bike but the owner was not congenial as our previous encounter.

Really lovely bike shop. I know nothing about bikes so always get a bit intimidated going in to bike shops but they’re so nice and helpful here. The prices are very affordable and the service is fast and excellent. Shoutout to Hugo (or maybe Hubert, sorry my memories terrible) for sorting out my gears, bike handles and being super friendly whilst doing it
Having tried countless bicycle stores, I can promise that this is THE BEST CYCLE SHOP IN CAMBRIDGE BY MILES! The owner is genuinely unbeatable on price, so conscientious, friendly, and lovely, and always does an unbelievably good job. I will never go anywhere else in Cambridge, Cam Cycles is THE BEST no question about it. If you have any issue with your bike whatsoever, go here!! Best service I've ever had in Cambridge as well as all other cities I've lived in (and I've lived in a few!) I don't commonly write reviews but this place deserves all the praise it can possibly get!

I have been looking for a place where to clean my bike for a while. I live in a small flat and don't really have where to clean the bike properly. Booking this service with Matt was super easy. Clean was £20(30m) for exterior and £30 for a full clean (1h service), incl degreasing, greasing with fresh ceramic lube. I went for the full service!
I was well impressed and the bike looked like I just bought it.
Matt also kindly applied a new pair of pedals. Matt wife Lauren was also amazing, offering a tea whilst waiting for the service!!

James and Becks at Cycling Position were recommended to me by a friend because I wanted a bike fit before I purchased a new bike. The fit worked wonders on my comfort and ability to cycle for the day. The friendly welcome and no pressure advice was excellent. They wouldn't sell you anything you didn't need or want. They listen and advice. So happy that I was introduced to them. I have purchased a bike and kit from them and they are my go to cycle shop. I wanted to thank Faegen and Rob for all their help with my recent electric bike purchase. They took the time to let me try different e-bikes, listened to what I needed, gave me impartial advice and there was no hard sales pitch. I ended up buying the Raleigh Centros and it is a fantastic e-bike. Loving biking around Bristol! Great customer service from really knowledgeable staff and really good terms - appreciated the free month's insurance too. I trust they'll be there to help out when I need it. Martin has helped me many times with my bikes and recently turned my bike into a single-speed version. He provides excellent service, very reasonable prices and finishes jobs quickly. He’s extremely impressive and cyclesmith comes highly recommended from me.
Amazing. Everywhere else was booked for 2 weeks and I needed a last minute tire repair so I could get to work in the morning. Other bike repair shops told me “good luck getting it done in time”. This place saw me immediately, fixed my tire in 10 minutes for only £12. 5/5 :)

On our way to dispose my favourite bicycle, written-off by my regular bike shop in Cambridge as something better thrown away than even attempting to fix, we offered the bicycle for recycling to this bike shop; however he suggested he can restore it for a reasonable price. I'm so happy my gf insisted, as now the bicycle was given another life, and my day got a little better because of the bike's sentimental value. Great guy, very polite, knowledgeable, and also very quick service and the result looks astonishing. Highly recommended!

Martin has been helping me and my husband for years with all of our bicycling needs. He built a lovely custom bike for me which I liked so much I had him make a second one for me to have in the US. He goes the extra mile. Always pleasant, prompt, and utterly trustworthy.
When I moved to Cambridge, I tried the cycle Smith because I kept getting really expensive service ices and parts. After going to Martin, I've not been anywhere else in 6 years.
Martin offers great value for money and is excellent with any bike. He's very passionate about cycling and wants to provide people with good quality, reliable bikes. His service prices are very good and he is often very busy because so many people go to him.
Martin is also able to provide advice and guidance if you want to work on your bike at home, he has a fantastic range of tools for sale. If you want awesome cinelli kit or Pro team gear, you can sometimes get it on the store, or it can be ordered for you.
