The gym is exceptionally good with lots of new machines and free weights from beginners to beasts 💪 swimming and classes are also included in the very good value for money price ..and no I'm not being paid for this review I just give credit where it's due...
Really nice gem of a hotel. In Scarborough most hotels were built at the same time, some show their age well and some don't. This hotel and it's rooms have clearly been modernised. Rooms are spotless, modern fixtures and fittings, newly fitted shower. But you can still tell you are staying in an older or classic hotel, with a cute little lift to still having floorboard. The pool is amazing. We didn't eat at the hotel as there was too much temptation from local restaurants. We will be back.
Very hit and miss whether you can swim if you are a faster swimmer, I’ve often not been able to swim because it’s so crowded and no lane control. If you swim faster than 2.00/100m its going to be a challenge to swim at all, so don’t rely on this pool if you’re training for something. if you’re fast you may not be able to use it in summer. Sometimes it would be ok totally unpredictable but in summer you can’t as it’s too busy and the lanes are at one pace. For casual swimmers it’s fine.

Good for kids, four water slides, a lazy river type thing and a few other little extra bits. It was very busy when I went, some of the lockers and changing facilities are a little bit worn and the place isn't completely clean but nothing horrendous. All the staff were really friendly, even on a Saturday when the place was rammed.
Swimming lessons are great BUT gives young children and parents a false sense of safety. The kids are not taught ISR skills which can be life saving...my wee one is completely use to having the arm bands which floats her body in a vertical way not possible to do it without them even when the water is very low if she falls she does know how to stand up! parentspreventingchildho…. Where can I get ISR lessons in Edinburgh, would the centre be able to offer this even if one to one lessons?
This is our new favourite pool and activity for a rainy Saturday or Sunday. The kids love it here, and the range of slides and little splash pool are perfect for small and big kids. The bigger slides are great fun for adults, too! The Costa is good for a post-swim drink, though it's a shame there's nowhere for a proper lunch.
The steam room felt dirty, small and there was barely any actual steam just hot air. It's more like a warm, damp, dark room than a steam room. Might just be the worst one I ever been to.

Took kids to attend their first swimming lessons and was turned away, due to no spaces! Apparently my payment/ booking was void. Not true at all, received no cancellation emails and the money from my account was gone. Yet they were happy to take my money, upset my kids and waste my whole evening sorting it out. Incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience, staff didn't even seem to care, came off as totally unapologetic, like I was the inconvenience. So unprofessional.
We were apprehensive about taking the kids, but it was impressive: smiling, helpful desk staff, a clean changing area, only a few dropped wristbands bands, the water was warm, and the slides and walkways looked like they were cleaned regularly. The kids (5 & 8) loved it. We will go again. Well done to The Triangle Leisure Centre pool team!
The facilities are fantastic here, the pool is amazing and it’s got a great soft play area and rock climbing. However the staff at the check in desk are so rude, maybe they just didn’t like me but I asked if they sold inflatable balls and one of the ladies said very sternly: ‘we have whatever is on sale behind you.’ Then I asked another lady if I could book rock climbing and she said there’s nothing until 2pm. I said that’s fine but she added very rudely: ‘these things need to be booked in advance.’
This is a really great club with an app that lets you easily select a range of classes from yoga to weight lifting. The classes use a lot of cool tech to keep things interesting, especially the WattBikes. The focus is very much on functional fitness rather than weight machines and body building, though they have that too. There is a very relaxing pool, steam room and sauna space for after the workout too.
The gym and staff are top class.
I trained with Oli Bird as my PT for many months and had a great experience. He put together a structured plan that challenged me and made me enjoy going to the gym. I’d still be working with him if I hadn’t moved, and would recommend him to anybody!

Brilliant classes, staff always friendly and helpful.
I made a reasonable accessibility request over a month ago after the new gym layout and am being completely ignored by the general manager. It's upsetting and disheartening to know how little the requirements of disabled people are considered at this centre by the management.
Really friendly helpful staff and the gym is very clean. The car park is limited and I suspect being used by people who work locally and aren't facility users because it's always full or nearly even when the place is quiet... except at weekends when you can park even when the place is busy.
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent view. Only downside was I booked this particular hotel because it had a jacuzzi and pool. The pool was freezing and murky and the Jacuzzi wasn't working so I was very disappointed to say the least. Also note to the hotel. It would be nice if you could utilize the central heating in the room as we were cool last night. Luckily I brought a hotel water bottle so we used that.
Huge 60 metre open air unheated swimming pool in Hampstead Heath. Unlike most lidos/pools the basin has a really cool stainless steal lining. Changing rooms and showers available. For a small fee you can use the cute little sauna hut next to the pool. Staff are lovely! Open all year.
Visited today for a massage and acupuncture with Pam. She explained the procedure well and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I enjoyed the experience very much and will be going back for another treatment without doubt. All the staff are always friendly helpful and informative.
This is my 8 year old daughter's favourite place to go swimming, there are some great slides and an outdoor rapids section. It's very reasonably priced as well. My daughter also loves the climbing walls.

Great hotel in Scarborough. Dinning was proficient and friendly, rooms were a good. Hotel is adorable! Walking distance to other attractions and the sea.
Went for little boys swimming lessons. The teacher was fantastic the facilities were clean and the staff was friendly, I just needed to try the cafe but it smelled delicious.
Went for the family swim on a Saturday. Half a pool just for us. Lovely and warm and the staff were awesome.
We booked in to the Red Lea at the last minute and were shown great hospitality by Sara and Nick. The hotel is lovely as are all the staff, plus it is in a perfect spot close to everything in Scarborough. Thankyou team.
Nice welcome at Red Lea Hotel by the receptionist who could not have been more attentive, found all the staff very pleasant and helpful the room was clean airey lovely view of the sea and the park, coffee tea making facilities were well stocked along with hair drier. The food served at breakfast was 1st class, the evening meals were again 1st the staff serving the food were helpful and friendly all in all the Red Lea Hotel is a lovely Hotel to stay at.
Was visibly way over a safe capacity. Life guards blowing whistles for 3 hours straight. No booking system in place.

Great fun splash pool with jets and sprinklers, 2 lazy rivers, 2 flumes and 2 simpler slides too. £1 for lockers. Great fun for all the family, we went with the grandparents who enjoyed the fun as well! Also an outdoor pool for those brave enough. Free parking too!

To swim at Brockwell Lido you have to first register for a Fusion account - this means going on their buggy website, receiving confirmation email, receiving confirmation text, address, date of birth, mobile number, meanwhile the website will probably crash so you have to reset your password via email, then also download the app, then re-register again.. then maybe get lucky and manage to book a slot in advance, but good luck as they seem to get booked up quickly. I've been doing personal training here with Rob for over a year, and I still enjoy every visit. The facilities are comprehensive and well maintained, plus the staff are all friendly and approachable.
Doing PT is one of the best investments I've ever made into my health and general wellbeing. I'm fitter, stronger, and am constantly being challenged to keep on improving.

Lovely hotel. Very clean and well decorated in bar/ lounge/ restaurant area.Staff very helpful and considerate. Breakfasts lovely. Stay here 2 or 3 times per year in the apartments. Beautiful location. Would stay here more frequently if say even one if the apartments was made small dog friendly.
Good old fashioned lido. Big area. Lots of shaded areas. Big open area. Cheap. Parking is better than places like Guildford lido. Some ice cream options my younger kids really liked.
Just be aware that:
Kids under 8 can't use slides.
Queuing not well organised.
Pool definitely not heated or retains heat overnight!

Needs a bit of an update. The bed is very small. The shower water pressure is very low. The gym, pool, hot tub and sauna are fantastic. Everything you can need. Lots of free weights and machines. Never seen anything like it at a hotel. Great location. Lovely bar. The breakfast is Sever to you and was lovely.
I joined Third Space a year ago and have been training with Sam Austin throughout. I’d never had a PT before and I regret not doing it earlier. The gym is brilliant - well-equipped and never too busy. Sam is an excellent trainer - he’s knowledgeable, engaged and just a really nice guy. I’d strongly recommend both Sam and the gym.
Take my 3 year old grandson regularly. The small pool is great for him but on two recent occasions we've had to use the big pool as the small was closed and it was SO cold, his little lips were blue so we left after half an hour.
Took my son to family swim. Nice pool, although water colder than I remember. Staff were friendly!
A lido..! Been a long time since I've gone to one... It didn't disappoint. Plenty of room and shade in grass around the pool. 3 flumes. Well managed with lots of polite staff. Hour plus drive for me, but we'll worth it. A fab day on a recommend from another happy swimmer.. 👌

Have been training here for nearly two years with highly recommended PT Rob Clark who, besides being a great motivator, has helped me rehab through several injuries, one sustained falling off my bike. Rob is part of an excellent team who always make you feel very welcome in this super well-equipped gym, not least in classes when you are helped to go at your own pace while training alongside fitter and younger people. The gym generally has all the facilities you’d expect for the high-end price - great steam room and sauna for example - but it’s the friendly and helpful staff who really make the difference - people like Rob whose passion for their work shines through.
Checked online booking for 3:15 - 5:15 general swim Website shows 25 remaining slots so didn't bothwr booking. Paid for parking then went to entrance only to be informed that it was full! Checked online again and STILL showed 25 remaining!

Beautiful outdoor pool,the kid's loves it.We where travelling from Ilford so quite far but it was worth it,lovely stuff clean area 👌🏾just wish they could be open till 8pm there where still lot's off people.

Took my daughter for full body wrap spa treatment omg was fantastic highly recommend and will be booking again very soon
Large outdoor pool, great for younger children, although slides for over 8. Some young teens can cause problems here, so watch out for them. The pool is not deep enough for an adult to swim, but it is nice for a paddle. Liked the food on offer. Wish it stayed open just an hour later.
I hired the pool and inflatable for my son’s birthday and it was incredible. The staff were amazing and the kids had so much fun! We were allowed to bring our own food and drink but they also kept their coffee shop open if any of the parents wanted something hot not brimming with sugar! It really was amazing. 100% recommend!
I've been a member at Third Space on/off for almost 4 years now and there simply is no better fitness club in London. Because of the amazing classes and facilities, a visit to the gym has become part of my daily life and since re-joining in December, I have seen significant improvement in my physical and mental health. The City location has particularly nice facilities and very friendly staff!
Nice pools, not sure about the shared changing facilities. Paying to park is a bit harsh , especially when you are using the facilities. Staff are okay, they don't listen to customers when you call up with query, they just talk at you. The cafe is nice and the other classes are well ran.
A living local legend, a lovely chilled and honest lido. No fancy gimmicks etc, there is a gym and other services on site too.

I can't praise the staff at the pool enough I am disabled and not been swimming in a long time staff were very helpful kind and considerate and the leisure centre is well equipped for disabled guests.
Had lunch, very good food. Staff friendly & helpful.

The best Lido in London with a Sauna too! Great for an early morning swim. Staff are polite, professional and the prices reasonable. Only negative is the grumpy guy in the cafe… such a miserable sod every time I visit. There’s also a resident duck who occasionally joins you for a swim.
Found staff very helpful, went to the gym to take up exercises following knee surgery, Instructors helped create program of workout to aid recovery...very good.

I would highly caution anyone to avoid using the gym. Several pieces of equipment are downright dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. There is mould in the water fountains and judging by the dust, most of the equipment has not been cleaned in a very long time. Avoid for your health.

Very dirty water in all pools. At deep end you can barely see the bottom of the pool. My son wasn’t impressed with the water slides either.
I do the fitness classes here all the time l. All instructors are kind, approachable. The only issue is they are not telling me when classes are cancelled other than that amazing venue. Great atmosphere
Poor hygiene, noone uses a towel to sit on in a sauna neither slippers and the staff are OK with that! No rules whatsoever which is shocking, facilities like showers, steam room are not being cleaned properly and some maybe never. I do like most classes and some staff are very friendly but some poolside staff are quite rude.
I love this Open Air Pool. I went yesterday with my daughter and 2 grandchildren and we had a great time. We've been before, of course! Ideal setting, friendly staff, always clean. Does get understandably busy during Summer school hols but this year you can now book in advance and that cuts down waiting time considerably. And why wait till school hols? Go now! What I love is you don't hear the outside traffic. It makes me feel as if I'm abroad somewhere. 🌞
The pool area and the pool itself were really great at parliament fields lido! The water was chilly (obviously with an outdoor pool in the U.K.) but pretty clean and well spaced and sign posted with plenty of areas around the pool to sit out!
I do think it’s rather expensive for the facilities that they provide - the changing rooms were pretty grim and lacked doors which made me question where the extensive amount of money went - otherwise a great experience ✨

In my opinion it's the perfect pool!
The temperature of the pool is perfect, although it feels on the cooler side the fact that the changing area after you get out doesn't feel any different to the pool area means it a win with the babies! For first time parents or for new little ones going swimming for the first time I definitely would recommend..
They have plenty of family spaces available to use for your babies and small tots.
The splash area gets tots and babies comfortable with water in general which is great for those littler nervous ones.
The rapids are full of fun games for everyone.
Slides are great fun, just know that some swimming costumes can help you go alot faster (even on the slow one)

The open air pool is nice, very clean and well kept. Staff are friendly and the prices for entry are reasonable. The only downside is refreshments are limited and opening hours on Google are not correct
Been going to this lido for years. Steel based pool which is unusual in its self. Cold water don't come if you like warmed pool. Great from a cold water dip in colder months and amazing place to cool down in the simmer months. Cafe on site. Hot showers open changing cubicals.

Ok... It's a nice enough place but it's a nightmare in the changing rooms cos people block them by leaving their stuff in there. Sometimes there's a horrible smell in the changing rooms and the coffee machine is always out of order. Parking is good tho and the staff are nice.
Fairly priced, brilliant pool and nice staff.
Went there on a general swim slot with my 2 .5yo kid and we had a blast!

Went there on a general swim slot with my 2 .5yo kid and we had a blast!

Beautiful any day, but especially in the summer sun! The lido itself is well maintained and beautiful, as is the sunbathing area. I would give the lido 5* except the women's changing room (poolside one) is always out of order these days, and now the showers in the gym changing room (which we are having to use instead) are 60% out of order so you have to queue while 4 of the 6 stand empty.
Absolutely no complaints to be made at all. Pool and spa facilities a lovely addition. Sea view from room was great. The room itself was spacious and the beds were comfy. The bar is well stocked and competitively priced and this mornings breakfast was exceptional. All the staff we met were absolutely lovely and we would definitely stay there again.
Love that there are changing rooms and showers around the perimeter of the pool, as well as a free to use steam and sauna room! Pool is 23m long (25 yards)
Some staff are amazing (perhaps 4 members) and some are very unwelcoming and nasty, simply “odd” for a customer orientated 4-star hotel. It’s a pity as can spoil the experience overall. Thank goodness for great staff like Andy who saves the day!
I come here to use the gym, its clean staff are really helpful and nice. Plus the gym is tidy and equipment is up to date. Pool is small, but there is a steam room and sauna ( sauna is on the small side ). Would highly recommend a gym and swim here 🙂. Also there is a little cafe at the front entrance via junction street.
All the staff are amazing, greet you by your name and can’t do enough to help. I love doing the classes too, especially clubercise with Ele.
Really nice facility but so expensive for a charity. Over £65 per month (not including joining fee) if you want gym and classes and no option to forgo pool cost. The gym is well equipped but small and closes at 5pm at the weekend. Pure gym at ocean terminal is £22 per month so it’s so hard to justify despite being my closest/preferred option.
The staff are very helpful and welcoming, the gym has a nice atmosphere to it and the pool area is good if you want to learn to swim for yourself or your child. The only flaw that I see is that the gym area doesn't have as much variety for the weights section however the other machines that are located elsewhere do make up for this
Has become too expensive over the years. Doesn't give option to have membership without spa facilities so it's £45 a month which is a shame. Will be changing gyms.
This place is really amazing. As you now need tickets to enter it is never too busy even on days it sells out. Plenty of places to lay down (even though it is on concrete) and some lane swimming always open. It's well run and queues move quickly. No doors on changing rooms and it's a bit grubby inside but I'm sure thats down to the age. Also sauna not available
When i was there it wasnt very crowded. Its clean (apart from the mens toilet) and has lots of chairs and tables that anyone can use. They should let you pay several sessions in one go, but they dont. They sell you one session and kick you out when its over. You need to pack all your stuff, go outside, stay in the line again, pay for another session, and go back in. Makes no sense.

My little boy goes swimming here and its a really great little pool. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Nice cafe also for breakfasts, cake and drinks. It also has a bar and a function room. Really great place. Would recommend.
One of the best places to stay and eat , or just a coffee , in Scarborough , great location, looking over garden s and castle, it has changed over the last few years with new lounge/ bar furniture, but the new staff are excellent 👍- excellent afternoon tea
Have been a member for a couple of years and I'm sad to be having to stop my membership as this now is plain exploitation from Fusion of this space and our love for it.
We have no hot water for a week now at the gym which is essential as well as having only two working showers for women in the whole gym for months now, a broken steamroom and hydro pool for a year and a half as well as a broken outside sauna for even longer. On top of that the pool is dirty and some of the running, cycling, the rowing machine and more are not working. Is been a joke and Fusion is taking advantage of the fact that people appreciated this local amenity. They are thieves really, false advertising all these amenities and basic facilities that don't work and don't exist.

A very large historic building with gym swimming pool sauna ect a bar and large restaurant and the hotel over looks south bay with great sea views

Great child only session. Slight problem that you cannot see them in the pool because the room with the viewing window was hired out
Great leisure pool. Can get busy but compared to Horsham the pool is warm, clean and has lots more to do. Nice slides for 4 year olds. 2 lazy rivers and a lovely splash zone. Pool and changing areas clean. Nice warm showers. Plenty of lockers.
