Was a guest here for a while. Toilets are tiny. Food at the dining hall was generous and good! Rooms are small but i think if you decorate them and clean them they can become quite cozy. Room was warm even though it was winter. But overall the place does look quite rundown. Had a good stay here.

Cheapeast postgrad accommodation at UCL for 145£/week. Shared amenities are fairly clean as the cleaners clean them twice/thrice a week. Corridors are quiet and the reception staff are helpful.

They are very strict on having unauthorised electrical appliances in your rooms though, including kettles and mains-operated fairy lights which they will confiscate if found.

Very good location in the heart of Camden Town, with a bus stop right outside the accommodation that takes you to UCL main campus in 15 mins. The bus services are 29 and 253. Two tube stations: Camden Road and Camden Town stations are 5 and 15 minutes walk away from the accommodation respectively.

Plenty of supermarkets including Sainsbury and Aldis about 15 minutes walk away. Many cafes, hair salons, convenience stores and fast food restaurants within walking distance too.

I was so pleasantly surprised by accommodation at Max Rayne. The room is cosy and pretty neat. Shared amenities are kept quite well. And though it’s supposed to be shared accommodations, the rooms are very private and the corridors are quiet. Would recommend if you’re looking for cheap accommodation. £145 per week.
Honestly, living here at Onyx has been a fantastic experience. From management to security, from safety to cleanliness, and from facilities to the overall environment—everything is exceptional, comfortable and well-maintained. My favorite part is the sky lounge on the top floor; the view from there is absolutely breathtaking! Everyone here is kind, professional, friendly and always willing to help. Special mention to the Manager of Onyx and to Sayed—hats off to them for their incredible dedication and care 🎩👏🏻
This accomodation is definitely high quality and an amazing place to stay. Facilities are quite nice and the views are quite pretty. Especially on floors 10 and 24. Especially Mia who has become quite the familiar face at reception. She is reliable and very helpful and the joy whenever you need something from reception or just a regular conversation.
I’m absolutely delighted with Onyx, but I have to give special thanks to the amazing receptionist, MIA. She’s such a kind and helpful soul, always going above and beyond to make everything smooth and welcoming. Her warmth and care truly make all the difference!
This accomodation is definitely high quality and an amazing place to stay. Facilities are quite nice and the views are quite pretty. Especially on floors 10 and 23. The staff are great, especially Mia who has become quite the familiar face at reception. She is reliable and very helpful and the joy whenever you need something from reception or just a regular conversation. Living expenses can be on the pricey side but it is worth it if you want prestige student living (see what I did there)
Before moving to Onyx, I had so many thoughts and concerns about how I would adjust and what the place would be like. However from the very first day I arrived and throughout my stay I have felt incredibly comfortable and at ease. It truly feels like my new home. Every member of the Onyx staff is understanding, professional and caring especially Sayed, who has been supportive from day one. The security is excellent, making me feel safe and secure at all times. Overall i am extremely happy to have chosen this place.
Overall such a great experience, I have lived here for 3 years now and the staff/ security from top to bottom are so kind and helpful i always come down for a chat whenever I can or whenever I am just passing through. The facilities are also great and give so much opportunity to meet new people from a variety of universities. Definitely a recommendation I would make if looking for a nice place to stay!
My sister is staying here for her first year of uni and all of the staff at Onyx have made sure that her first experience of university life has been wonderful. The check in process was quick and easy, the room was spotless, and any worries that my sister had have completely gone! Absolutely faultless ☺️🤗
I've had an incredible experience staying at Onyx Student Accommodation! The management is excellent and the environment is exceptional. The rooms are very comfortable, providing a perfect space to relax and study.

A particular highlight is the security team especially the one who's like Thomas Shelby to me (Sayyid) —amazingly helpful, kind and professional. I felt a sense of security and peace knowing he was downstairs on security.

The Onyx manager Kay is also very cooperative, always ensuring that everything runs smoothly and is also very understanding. I highly recommend Onyx to any student looking for a great place to live.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! This was the worst place I could possibly stay in London. Aside from the horrendous room condition, their incompetent staff wasn't able to find my payment for weeks for which they charged ME a late payment fee. I booked maintenance twice and no one came to fix anything. A PERSON DIED IN THE BUILDING. If you pay close attention all of the positive reviews are written by ChatGPT. Reception staff hasn't been trained properly and constantly brought up issues for any request I had. There's issues with the mold, the shower, the ventilation. The train constantly makes noise as the tracks are right under the building, it was impossible to sleep. DO NOT STAY HERE, SAVE YOUR MONEY OR SPEND A BIT MORE AND GET SOMETHING ELSE THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE.
My sibling has been living here this past year. A year ago, my parents were reading the reviews, horrified at some of the horror stories shared. I've heard stories of my sibling having rats in the kitchen or collecting post being a faff. But my sibling has had a great time and I just wanted to reassure all the students that get assigned here that they can survive and it will be character building 😅

I cannot stress how terrible this place is. 90% of the time, the doors or elevators are out of order for months on end, the hallways and washing machine facilities are disgustingly dirty, reception staff don’t treat residents as human, but if you’re lucky they’ll flirt with you, access to our flat was removed without warning and hundreds of pounds worth of stuff has been “binned.” The rooms themselves have mold and mildew issues along with a paper thin mattress with springs that will bruise your ribs. Save yourself time and money and don’t sign a lease for this place
Lived there for a year, polite and helpful people.

My stay at chapter has been great. The property is amazing and so is the staff. Specially Elcin has been the most helpful, she understood my problems at a personal level and made me feel very at home. She has helped me settle in so well and has taken initiatives at different occasion to make us feel at ease and home like here at chapter. She has been a friend to the majority of us staying at chapter

This university accommodation provides all you need for a comfortable stay / tenancy. Rooms are modern, spacious and have all needed appliances. They offer exceptional services such as cleaning services and host events for students. They also have a gym, study spaces and a lovely terrace. Reception team, especially El and Kerry-Ann are friendly and helpful with any requests. The reception is open 24/7 with security overnight which makes the building very secure and safe. Despite the slightly further location, Chapter Lewisham is well connected and also walking distance from Greenwich area which is wonderful. I could not recommend it more! :)
Bathroom is kinda bad, the kitchen is always dirty, its noisy half of the time. But its home <3 (and also very very close to uni)
‼️THE BEST OPTION IF YOU LIKE WASTE YOUR MONEY ‼️😍🤑❤️

☺️ 🤩These are my best reasons to stay in this student residence

1: The machines to wash and dry your clothes almost never work and if they do work they are always dirty or smell horrible. 🤯🥳

2: Every time you open your window you will get an amazing aroma of trash can and weed

3: The staff in general is very friendly
(without sarcasm) 🫶🏻👍🏻

4: The bathrooms in the rooms are very small

5: ‼️PLEASE clean the dryers and washing machines, It's disgusting ❤️☺️‼️

Staying at Chapter Lewisham for the long term has proven to be incredibly convenient. The single studio room I occupied was not only clean but also equipped with Wi-Fi accessible to all residents. Additionally, the accommodation offers amenities such as a study room, gym, and laundry facilities. A housekeeper diligently cleans the room on a weekly basis. One standout feature is the welcoming and helpful reception, with Elcin being especially commendable for her excellent service and advice. For those seeking a long-term residence conducive to studying, I highly recommend it. Moreover, its strategic location makes transportation easy, with Lewisham train station just a 10-minute walk away. Feel free to contact Elcin for any details regarding your stay.

If you’re reading this and just got accepted to UCL, congrats!! I was very reluctant about staying at Max Rayne House because of the negative comments I read here on google. But thankfully I decided to give it a go. This is by far the cheapest way to live near the uni and in a central area of London.
The accommodation is decent, nothing fancy but you can easily live comfortable here. There’s no bugs infestation (I read one comment about it and it made me petrified! But relax!). It is also very clean, as we have a cleaner coming 2-4 times a week to clean the kitchen and the bathroom. Each corridor has one kitchen and one bathroom, so I suggest you make a whatsapp group chat with your corridor with everyone.
If you’re used to live in very big bedrooms, you will find it a bit small (as I did). But you will get used to it.
It is very close to the main campus of ucl. There’s a bus stop right in front of the accommodation, but you can also walk! Around 20-25 min walk (good to save some money). The tube station is also quite close.
If you’re a postgrad, you will probably be allocated to Max Rayne. It is a quiet (most of the time hahah) accommodation full with postgrads! There’s also a common room with many games to play and a tv. They often offer some movie and game sessions, so people can meet each other and make friends. They even sometimes offer free things (drinks, food etc).

Tips:
- if you don’t wanna buy the pack that they offer, bring your own bed sheets, pillow and pillow case.
- The cheapest way to buy things for home and bedroom is probably IKEA, but it is far away from the accommodation. So make sure you get the basic stuff until you find time to go there.
- ask around about the social events. They are really nice and an allow you to make friends before your course starts. You will meet people from every part of the world ❤️
- make a whatsapp group with people from your corridor. It will facilitate communication, trust me!
- make sure you put the right location on google before you arrive here. Sometimes google shows the lateral entrance, and there’s no security/door man to open the door for you. The right entrance is the one with a big sign written “ucl accommodation” 😂. When I first arrived, I spent 30 min in pouring rainy day with 2 big suitcases waiting for someone to show up, but I was just in the wrong entrance.

Anyway, hope this helps! And also hope you have a great time here as well :)

Nice accommodation with various events. The cleanliness and the noise will depend of your flatmates. It is very close to the citu centre and juste next to the uni.
Good accommodation and good location, but the residency support with noise complaints is nonexistent. I was here for one semester, so I was unable to change flats in time and got unlucky. I stayed in a private room with communal kitchen, my flatmates turned out to be party people. Loud music day and night, strangers knocking for fun and talking at my door from 12am to 4am, screaming and laughing in the kitchen that is right outside my door. I sent in complaints, called for Resident Assistants, but the Assistants would often hang up on me due to late hours and do absolutely nothing. Majority of my classes are at 9am, and the partying doesn’t stop for work days.

In the end, I bought ear defenders just to be able to fall asleep

Been staying for 2 weeks now. You won't find any other affordable and comfortable like this one in London as UCL student.
Last week, I reported about my bed is uncomfy then the staff immediately changed my bed, and the cleaner lady in my corridor also really do a good job for my corridor common room.

This is my second year living at the AXO Camden accommodation. The reception is open all seven days from 9 am to 6 pm, with someone there to cater to your needs and requests. The reception is only closed for a few minutes during the lunch break, which everyone is made aware of priorly at the time of the check-in itself. The staff has always been very courteous, responsive and welcoming. In regards to maintenance works, there is always Renton there to help with the same. Ethan, Milo and Renton have always been very responsive and accommodative when it comes to requesting them about something. The property has always been spot on clean, no foul smell and no garbage disposal problem. The common room is cleaned thoroughly, ensuring proper sanitary conditions prevail. If anyone is eager to shift to Axo Camden in the near future, they should do so without thinking twice! The connectivity is also good, the accommodation is centrally located with bus stops and tube station at a walkable distance.
Unique hall design but very cozy. Very near all the lecture hall at UoM

There is nobody in reception all time. If you want to check in, you need to go to AXO Islington first to get your key… And my toilet is not working. I cannot flush it, but there is no where to report maintenance. No one answering the phone and report on portal would be ignored. And since there is nobody working in reception, the bin collection always missed. Now there is a mountain of garbage in the bin storage area. It seems AXO Camden was abandoned by the AXO company. The management is terrible😡

It’s a comfortable and affordable option if you’re an UCL student. Facilities are good and work properly considering they’ve been used for years. Camden is a vibrant zone and you can find all kind of plans no matter your budget. Around there are plenty of options to get food at good prices: lidl, tesco, savers. Also plenty of options to buy whatever you need. Transport is really good and you can go everywhere since you have the overground, tube and a bus station less than 10 minutes from the Accomodation.

I came to Max Rayne House reading negative reviews on Google about mice and roaches.
Didn't expect much before coming here. But, it was the complete opposite. This will always be my second home. The best student accommodation in UCL where bright minds with good personalities meet. Not gonna lie, this is the most affordable place to live near Camden Town. You'll have a fun time and make strong friendships. Can’t be more grateful for giving me this living experience here. All the best to next batch of students. You’ll make good stories here.

Chapter Lewisham was a wonderful accommodation for my daughter's first time being away from home and long term stay out the country. The staff was friendly and courteous. She really loved her room. It was spacious, clean, and a wonderful place to live. Parents of all London Universities, you won't be disappointed.
It’s my second year living at the SC, and I can say it’s the best option for students, especially international. It might seem a bit pricey but not much more than other studios in Brighton. Amazing public transport access to both universities.

I have sent so many emails to the manager about tenancy transfer, but they never replied my email. I have been waiting for so long and I sent them follow up emails literally every day, but still no one responses. There is always no one at the reception, and the staff never picks up the phone. When I dial the emergency call number, the phone is always switched off. This also happens to my friends living here. They never take our emails seriously.
Yes, it has its issues. I had mold developed in my room at the beginning of the year, however, it was quickly cleaned up and taken care of on the next day!

It is a bit loud, but that is to be expected from a student accommodation.

I got a flat with no window in the kitchen, which is upsetting, but not crucial.

HOWEVER,
I have become good friends with the flatmates, which is essential for any first-year student.

It is THE cheapest accommodation that you will find.

And the location is absolutely superb, as it is practically welded right into the University campus.

TLTR:
Has occasional issues, but entirely worth it for the price.

YPP - gravity residence. A fantastic and secure place to live for young working professionals/students. It’s in a very good location and easy for travel as you’re right beside a train station too! The communal areas are clean and the gym is very well kept.
I moved into my studio in September, Kai was very attentive and made moving in easy and stress free. When I have had any maintenance issues it has been an easy process by reporting the issue on fix-flow. The maintenance team are efficient and get it resolved as soon as they can.
YPP give you a considerable amount of time when it comes to inspections or tenancy renewals too! When I renewed my tenancy agreement, Kai was also very understanding and supportive and the process was pretty straightforward.
Easily the best off-campus student accommodation in Brighton.

+ 24/7 security
+ Responsive staffs
+ Common areas cleaned regularly
+ Strategic location (bus stop right outside)
+ Many engaging student activities throughout the year

I look forward to coming home every day.
Lovely, modern accommodation! The Staff were so welcoming which helped me settled in + they continue to be friendly and attentive to any concerns. There are always different activities arranged by the staff so you never feel too isolated living alone either. For different occasions such as Pancake Day, the Chinese New Year the staff also arrange nice treats in the reception for us! The roof top is also a nice perk- especially on sunny days. The 24/7 hour security is also excellent- especially as a young woman coming home late- so you always feel very secure and protected. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone :)
It is a really lovely place to stay for students. Every team memeber is so nice and helpful. All equipments works quite well. If there is anything broken and damage, they would be really helpful to change for you. I LOVE HERE as part of my best experience in Brighton!
I've been living here for 1 and half year by now,I reported 13 building maintenance issues, encountered 5 waterleaks in my room, and the maintainance team literally lied to me about they have already fixed the leak but didn't, now my floor is flooded again, knowing the carpet will stink for the next week.
As an international student, I wanted to ensure that I secured accommodation that was comfortable with close proximity and ease of navigation to school and other necessary locations. Since I didn’t have the chance to go round the city to assess the accommodation options myself, I opted for Student Castle and hoped that it was just as advertised. Indeed, it met and surpassed my expectations. My Student Castle studio apartment has everything I need and more! It is close to everywhere and super comfortable with perks like free bicycle rentals.

While booking, I was asked what preferences I had. I responded that I wanted an apartment with a great view and that’s exactly what I got. The staff are also friendly and very helpful especially Steve who is the most amiable staff member and will always make you feel welcome and like a part of the StudentCastle community.

Definitely recommend!
Staff made the effort to get to know me, made me feel at home with sweets on the side. Lovely room, quiet as well considering it’s halls. With opportunities to make friends at events. Light open study areas.
Plus love the bikes!
If you feel like treating yourself. Student castle is the place to be.
I really do love this place!

My partner and I have lived here since
September and plan to stay here for the
next two years whilst we do our degree!
The place is always so clean, the staff have
all been incredible! (Especially Roxy!), they
give you lots of advice and it's really easy to
use the portal!

The room is amazing, we love it! It's so hard
to find anywhere that couples can live
together so we were so made up when we
found this place! (Right opposite aldi too!),
it's nice and Morden inside, the room is the
perfect size for us!

The building has 3 balconies with some
amazing views! The 8th floor one is my
favourite, especially during sunrise or sunset! Downstairs they have a common
room with a TV and a nice sofa, also lots of
places to do your work. It's nice relaxing in
there when friends come over :)

Overall, I'm really happy with this place! We
have had a few problems such as the front
door being broken for a while which meant
you couldn't use the lift unless you went
round the back and also some problems
with the temperature of the room as it gets
boiling hot sometimes!

Apart from that we love it :) close to the bus
stop and the station, can't really complain!
Student Castle has been an amazing place to stay. The rooms are very spacious and have a lot of amenities that really make the rooms great like a small table which gives you more space with friends around. The common room is not too big but it has an AC , TV and a lot of tables so you can study. The terraces are my favourite part as it gives you incredible views of Brighton from the top on the 8th floor.
The staff are helpful and nice when you need help with something.
I would recommend this place highly as I had a good experience.

The 4 goes for the food, service and staff. My room is clean but some rooms were not however the staff is nice and helpful. Well-done 👏
Horrible. Simply horrible. I was paying more for so much less. The internet was horrible. Half the time I couldn't even do anything and had to use data. The room was no better either. Especially the bathroom since the shower overflows and floods the bathroom floor itself. Other than that it's okay I guess. My experience was horrible for more reasons but I'll keep it at that for now.
Not in existence I wasted my time and petrol all the way from kent to the please for covid test. Walked around every street asking people who live there and was not aware of sure name. No since no bill board name. Nothing it was a shame. Only because my University said we should go and test, before our next place ment next week

Stayed here for one night while working in London. Beautiful garden, large communal area's, clean modern shared bathrooms. Single room ideal size and comfortable, female guests only. All night security very pleasent. I would stay here again 😄
Offices don’t appear to be open to the public.

The outside of this building is disgusting. Cigarette ends all over the floor and the bin is always overflowing. Do you think you can ask your users to respect the outside public area or employ a cleaner to clean up their mess. Thanks

Nice staff but not nice room. Lights broken, worst matras and pillows ever even though I'm not picky on that. Not well clean and I don't mean the dust but the toilet, hair in the shower and on the ceiling (yes yes). The card to enter the building and your room function after the 5th attempt to open the door. Staff is though not committed to help and makes you feel like you can't complain without being an arrogant picky person. Were not open to comments in order to improve their establishment. Location is good though, but i wouldn't recommend this place.

Chapter Lewisham is a great place for students of Goldsmiths College, and Greenwich University. The halls are clean and reception is 24/7. Most of
the staff are very courteous and friendly. You can get either a shared or private room. They call them suites but the private rooms are really just that - a room with an attached bathroom and a kitchenette. Still, it’s ideal for one person. The top floors give great views of Canary Wharf, which was a major highlight in choosing this place (please see the photos). Note though that Lewisham is not the safest of neighbourhoods but it’s not crazy either. The ASDA and the Lewisham stations are minutes walk from Chapter, making this a very convenient location. The common areas are air conditioned and heated - depending on the weather - and the gym is a great addition. All in all a great place. I enjoyed my time here.

I stayed here for my first year of university. From the day I moved in I was told that if there were any faults anywhere in my room to let the staff know within 24 hours so that they could rectify and fix it. To which I listed that my heating in my radiator didn’t work along with other things, they fixed the other things but never mentioned my heating. when I enquired about it I just got told I never said anything. I kept going back to reception to try and sort it but they didn’t believe that I had no heating due to the snow and was just laughed at by the staff. Still to this day there is none. Apart from bad staff and faults everywhere and the impulsive and loud “cleaners”. It is local and very close to Greenwich, right next to the dlr train station which is handy and as far as student halls go it wasn’t loud. Kitchen and rooms were a nice size and quite spacious, is on the pricey side though. However if your choice is between this and Cutty Sark halls, I would recommend this as cutty sark is a dump with rats and fire alarms going off every night. Overall it is not too bad, good experience with a good location but staff and “cleaners” are rude and unknowledgeable about the place.

The accommodation is good value for money. It is located in such a safe and quiet area in zone 2 where you can get to anywhere in central London in 15-20 mins. The building is also safe with security doors need your room card. Reception office is helpful and friendly. My emails of inquiry are always answered within a couple of days.

I frequently refer to my hall of residence as “low cost accommodation”: persistent plumbing issues (leaky toilets for over 5 months, episode of 4 days no hot water...), staff regularly claim “rule-changes”, for example concerning guests (and other clauses contradicting original contract agreed upon). Little to no ventilation in kitchen and bathrooms. Perhaps more shockingly, instances of near domestic abuse by members of staff have been reported to me by friends living here. Equally, property has been stolen from courtyard, without any compensation from admin. Positive aspects include great sound insulation and radiators work, beds comfortable and great location.

There is nobody on reception when you need anything. There is no security. There has been an ongoing toilet problem with leaks in the rooms and carpets are wet but they don’t do anything about it. They make rules up as they go along and say it is in the contract when it isn’t (eg it doesn’t say anywhere you are not allowed friends over but apparently when your friends travel to London to stay with you they get turned away at the gate due to new made up rules). There was also no hot water for 4 days a few weeks ago and we got little more than an email to say sorry.

Fantastic value accommodation. The building is in a incredible location, <5 minutes walk to the tube station and high street. Best value accommodation inside of zone 2. The rooms are nice and spacious and most of the staff are incredibly friendly
Good overall experience
Flats are available with sink, or without
Had Wi-Fi and Ethernet facilities
My flat housed about 9 students. The halls provided a cleaner to clean communal areas. On site 24 hour security was very helpful if anyone was too noisy they could restore peace.
On site bar arranged pub quiz nights to get everyone involved.
The placement was very convenient, close to shops and university buildings.
Rooms were a decent size and facilities such as vacuum cleaners were provided (and emptied).

My only issue was the squirrel population who could run over the slanted roofs and get into rooms if you left the window open, easily rectified by not leaving the windows open though

All in all, I enjoyed living there, it was a decent price.

Comfortable accommodations housing students during the school terms, and available for conference attendees and the public during summer.
A new building with key card entry, 24 hour security, and security cameras in public areas for your peace of mind.
Accommodations include studios with your own kitchen and bathroom, to bedrooms sharing a living room and a larger kitchen.
Clean and well maintained, with attentive and friendly staff in reception.
Highly recommend if you are studying in University of Greenwich as the Naval College campus is a 15 min walk away, and the Stockwell Street Library just 5 min away.

The rooms are decent sized, but the design of the flats is horrible. The common spaces do not encourage socialising. All materials are garbage and half of the rooms are directly facing the DLR line, so it is very noisy.
