Positives: Friendly staff,lovely ambiance. And delicious wine (though not inexpensive)
Disappointingly though the food was poor. Beef in the bourguignon was chewy and full of gristle and one of the potatoes was undercooked, salad very salty, and when we finally got to order a dessert the crepes were surprisingly cold (the first waitress said this was how it was served, the second was surprised).
Paid the bill in full incl service charge as don’t want to wreck a small business, but needs improvement to keep custom.

I really wanted to love this place, especially after a warm welcome, but everything was so so average. Cheese - served super cold straight out of the fridge. Ham - smelled off, so did not eat. Told waitress we did not want to risk it - but they just told us we were wrong and made sure it was all left on the bill! Butter for bread - 2 meagre little slices, straight from fridge - so cold & hard you cant use it. Plus the butter was full of unidentifiable ingredients - ie, some kind of herb - not sure and there is no explanation as to what it is. Bourginon was watery and the beef was still tough - it needed 2 more hours of slow cooking. It was served with a few boiled potatoes, and meagre carrots/ shallot pieces. More of a simple bowl of beef soup, than the luscious French classic “beef bourginon”. Onglet was actually really nice, but waitress and menu could not explain what it would arrive with - difficult if you have allergies - you just take the risk.

Of course we ate what arrived, as it was late and we were hungry and paying. Just wish it was better food.

Ambience had a lot of potential, but the lights were off at the bar - so we sat in the dark, until more people arrived, and then they switched on the ambient bar lighting. Waitress pleasant but not very versed in menu or English.

Overall, just felt like a place trying to save pennies, that has lost sight of bigger picture.

It has an amazing location & vibe, but this place is just not worth it, despite affordable prices. We shared a cheese platter, a bottle of house red and 2 mains for £120.

By way of comparison, we left here to find dessert elsewhere. We spent £50 on 2 perfect drinks + 1 cheese board + 1 amazing dessert just around the cnr - zero regrets there!

Raclette was tasteless, likewise, the bourguignon was watery and bland and amazingly had no noticeable shallots, carrot or mushrooms, but it had potatoes instead!? No butter anywhere to be seen. The salad is just lettuce. Wine was reasonable. I would concur that the service is decidedly French, but French service, at least in Paris is pretty good these days. Nice atmosphere for a bottle of wine, but wouldn't bother with the mains.

I have been a regular for years, and for a reason. This is by far my favourite restaurant in London. From the quintessential French atmosphere to the stunningly beautiful food and wine served. I adore this restaurant and it will always have my heart! I thoroughly recommend to anyone in search of authentic French food. It is also priced extraordinarily reasonably. I am saddened by the few bad reviews, as it certainly doesn't deserve it.

Went in for one and came out with four bottles of wine. Friendly, informed and helpful. Lovely staff who take all the pretentiousness and anxiety out of the process. Matching wine to food, mood and occasion. And they threw in a cork screw for good measure. I will definitely be back.

I used to live in the area and have fond memories buying wine and dining here. And it used to feel more homely and welcoming, with the owner and shopkeepers recognising you, being inviting and showing passion for the products they sell.

But returning in recent years the quality has slipped considerably especially when it comes to service. In a recent visit the blonde lady front of house was brusque and impatient when I came in to make a purchase. I see other reviews have pointed out inconsistent and poor service in this venue, which tracks and is a shame.

I had originally put on a less than favourable review due to my experience, however upon reflection and subsequent contact with the company they have actually exceeded in my expectations of customer service. And the wine wasn't half bad either!!!

Just the worst shop in whole London! Will never order from here again, not receiving confirmation e-mail after paying online, for the standard delivery you have to wait more than a week! Just a rubbish place!

DWS has a huge selection of amazing wines!! They have very knowledgeable and friendly staff who always take the time to guide me through all the new arrivals. I’ve been buying from them for nearly 30 years and I am genuinely always impressed by the quality, value and range of wines they have on offer.

The French onion soup and the escargot are excellent! These were so good that I could have ordered them twice instead of the main course.
The entrance is a little confusing. It is not through a door at ground level, which seems to be the main one, but go down stairs beside it and you can find a correct door!
The atmosphere in the restaurant was also good. I would like to go back to eat there again.

We were comped our meal, which was kind. But we really would have preferred a lovely French brasserie meal, which is not what we experienced. The place was empty—literally the only two diners—at 7 on a Saturday night on a bank holiday weekend, that should have tipped us off.

Staff were really friendly and gave us some tasters even though we were just browsing. Will definitely come back for an occasion wine when I have a little bit more money to spend

We must have walked in on a bad day, as the service we got was non existent. Due to the lack of interest and interaction with us, my girlfriend and I left without buying anything. Normally the service in these little wine cellars is very intimate, but we felt nothing. Shame really, as they have a broad selection.

I placed an order for my work with these guys. The selection is naturally superb and huge. The website was easy, and delivery was free and quick!

I actually ordered a wine that a load of people in my work subsequently said "uurgh!" to, so I contacted the team at the shop who said a swap out would be no problem. I got to the shop on a Saturday morning and the staff member i dealt with (Sinain or Carina?) could not have been more helpful and obliging. I couldn't recommend Direct Wines highly enough! Shop local!!

Ordered frozen and fridge products. Parcel was delivered in 2 days! It's not what you're expecting when you're charge for delivery 12£!!!! No ice inside to keep the right temperature for fridge/frozen products, just paper (newspaper).
First and last order.

My first order with Halusky and I'm very happy thank you so much. Everything have good lasting dates on , jars very well packed and protected, packing just perfect size and prices are good too . Will be definitely ordering again and I will definitely enjoy all my treats.

Expensive shipping and undelivered on two dates then sent address not found. After calling the carrier, we say we can come to the depot to pick up the purchase. Tomorrow is the third attempt. The address was fine. If it is not delivered tomorrow, we no longer want the goods and demand a refund. We planned to shop regularly, we run a Czech bistro, but after this experience it was our last purchase. For £ 29 shipping, it's a bad service
.We was wanting two days in the Shop at the Delivery Time. Nobody came there. For sure we sticket phone number outside for driver. Again no one contact us. Tomorrow we go to holiday. Last thirt chance until 6pm.Give me ring before.

In the past I have been very happy with the service from Roberson. However earlier in December I ordered wine for Christmas (12 bottles) and was delivered someone else's order (4 bottles). When I pointed this out I didn't even get an apology. I was asked to return the incorrect order and then my original order turned up and again with no apology note. Very poor service I think and I shall be buying my wine elsewhere in the future.

I have ordered the groceries which originally come from Slovakia and Czech Republic from Halusky shop for the first time. They delivered the parcel in two days and although there were ambient and frozen items in one box, they were separated to keep them in the correct temperature. I was absolutely happy. Excellent service. I can recommend to anyone.

Very happy with my recent order with Roberson WIne. Delivery was very quick despite the pandemic and well packaged. They have a good selection of wine and the pricing was good. It was easy to navigate through the site and filter on what you were looking for. Overall very happy with my order.

Very Rude Owner!
I used their online shopping service. Delivery charge was accurate to where I live and the fact it took only couple of days to get my order. Everything was nicely packed.
Only thing was they sent me wrong item. When I contacted them regarding this matter Anish, the shop owner, replied very rudely. My approach was polite, only asked if I can get the thing I ordered. His attitude was one of the worst I ever experienced. At the end didn’t even bother replying to me.
In my opinion they have quite big range of products, even though some of them are quite pricy. However, they definitely need to work on their customer service.
Please note owners are not Czech! I am and I was very disappointed with the whole situation! Won’t be back!!!!

One of the best winery in Northern Ireland. Having dealt with peter and neal for many years I could not recommend these guys enough. The quality of their wines and the knowledge given. Being in the hospitality trade they are the most sincerest people and want to help in any way possible. They have given me the knowledge and training needed and I will always support local businesses. Keep up the good work guys, any time my family come across seas I always recommend their wines. What can I say? A fantastic range of the nicest wines. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Lots of different tasting sessions and just an all round good place to get some reasonably priced classic vintages.

A true gem in Belfast City

I dropped by this shop in autumn 19 looking for a specific wine from Washington State but they didn’t have it so the gentleman asked me what I liked about that wine and recommend this bottle from Canada, saying it had similar characters, yet at £45 I was a bit reluctant about it but decided to take his word for it only to find out that this has been such a great wine, will be back for more.

Made my first order with Robertson wine and it won't be my last. Excellent wines and service, delivered promptly and delivery notifications at every stage. Highly recommended.

We are next to roberson wine. They are by far the most horrible and inconsiderate people. They woke us up 5 times at night because they are loud, drunk and partying. Have some respect for your neighbours. They lack basic human decency.

We were looking for a specific wine and only 2 places in London had it. The other vendor had totally over priced it. Roberson offered it at a fair price and with great customer service.

Very friendly and knowledgeable owners. Really medium priced and upwards but if you are prepared to pay £15+ they have a fantastic selection of both old world and adventurous new.

We have been buying our wine here for years and have always enjoyed the exceptional service and their knowledge of their product. Always great when Grizzly is there to give a pat to as well. A very sociable place as well, where Andrew & the team will often share a glass or two of with you. You could not find a better place to buy your wine.

Asked Roberson for some suggestions for my 50th party. They were brilliant and listened to what we were doing and our budget. Well, we welcomed everyone with chilled Crement fizz to get it started. They also supplied a delicious crisp white but we could not decide on reds! Roberson came up with 3 to taste at home and the one we went with was delicious. Served with succulent middle eastern chicken and lamb kofta with salads and flatbreads (glamourous kebabs!), and a little live music and a sing along. What a night. Thanks, keep it up.

AVOID (like the pest). Extremely disappointed by Roberson Wine. I saw online that they advertised Haut Brion 2008 for ~£280 per bottle. They had 6 bottles in stock and showed a discount of 15% if one were to take the full case of 6. I then ordered the wines online and made payment via debit card. I received an order confirmation via email an hour later stating that delivery would be made on Monday 9th January. However, I just received an email notifying me that the wine was priced too low. So it is not a matter of stock (in fact I can see they have 12 bottles of this in stock now), but Roberson now feel this was offered too attractively. To put it in context, though attractive - would correspond to the official Livex price for the wine from around 6 months ago (so it is by no means a colossal error), i.e. I would expect the retailer to honor this order (especially given they do have the stock!). In addition I actually purchased a bottle of Haut Brion 1995 with them for a slightly lower price just 12 months ago (for £240 a bottle) and they seemed to be fine with it then. My suggestion to amicably resolve the issue by at least offering to sell me 2 bottles at the advertised price was not answered. Well, lesson learned is to AVOID ROBERSON! Very poor showing, and this has not happened to me in purchasing wines from a multiple of retailers and wholesalers for 20 years+.
