The best of the two acropolis viewpoints. Not hard to go up and very pleasant walk. Its quieter than the other viewpoint which allows for a more relaxing experience

Lovely view and worth the winding ride up. One can drive right up to the start of the hiking path as the road is gravil and only a few spots of bumpy stones. There is parking for about 6 cars.
It's a great place to take a nice shop of Acropolis and Athens

Incredible hike through Vikos gorge. The trail is well made and clearly marked (no distance markers though). We parked our car in Vikos and walked all the way to Monodendri. Think it was about 14.5km total and took our family almost 8 hours from start to finish, including time for a swim at about the 8km mark.

Tips:
1. Wear good hiking shoes
2. Take lots of drinking water
3. This is a long, tough hike - doable for 8 year old, but make sure you have plenty of sustenance and allow time for breaks
4. Phone service in the canyon is very limited and we only saw about 30 people for the entire hike so don’t rely on others for help/support in the event of trouble
5. We used Michail (Taxi) to drive us back to Vikos, he was fantastic, very clear on timings and with lots of tips for the local area.
6. Take powerbank to recharge devices

Enjoy this incredible hike!

Most impressive view of the Vikos gorge!
Recommended to those who visited other viewpoints as well as to those who visited the bottom of the gorge.
Don't miss the short walk to the left of the viewpoint

Stunning view of the gorge!
Recommended even to people who saw other viewpoints as well as to those who hiked to the bottom of the gorge.

It is located on the way descending from the church. A small stop point with a good viewpoint to the city.

Just go hands down. And walk the extra 100 mtrs to the edge. It looks risky but it's completely safe if you are not scared of heights. The view from there is simply jaw dropping.
Go early if you want to see the sunset and have a spot to sit as it got very busy at the top! (I would say at least an hour before) But actually there are plenty of equally good views further down the hill too

Visit Mar 2024. Amazing view point of the vikos gorge beneath. There is a short walk from the parking area to get to this point. Follow the path and there are some markings when path is not 100% clear
Beautiful View to multiple directions. Best at sunset. You can see the Akropolis and many more sights.
Beautiful but super crowded around sunset! Worth a visit though definitely.
One of the best view points in Athens. Nice park. No crowds, no bars.
This viewpoint is incredible, a must visit. Afterwards you can drive to Konitsa for a walk along the water starting from the stone bridge of Konitsa.
Nice hilltop to see pireaus harbour and city. Easy to climb and nive pavement all the way.
Very nice spot to watch the city and the sunset! Make sure to bring water because you need to walk quite a lot!
Wonderful place to go. It's an easy trail where can see the whole Athes on the top of the hill. My personal favorite.

Beautiful viewing point, accessible within five minutes walking from the parking by the church.
Great view every time I'm up here. Oxiday was special with the Artillery group. View of Parthenon doesn't get better

Amazing place to visit, sit and enjoy the gorgeous view. There is a gazebo close to the edge as well. There are signs that help you get there, one from the road that goes to the village and the other from the village center. I suggest you go all the way to the bollage because there are lots of parking spots. From. There it's a two minute walk to the view point
After the tour of the Acropolis, it is nice to go for a walk. It's a bit of a hill, but then you have a beautiful view of the sunset.

A really magical stop. It's a 20mn walk from the parking, at which point you discover this jaw dropping view point. We arrived there in the evening, a little bit before sunset, at the golden hour. Just wow. We were alone and have been looking at this view for a solid 30mn. Top 3 of the best view points we've had in Greece for sure.
Amazing place. Stunning views. Heavy hiking tour.

We spent 3 days in this magnificent region. We could easily stay a week. You must recognize that you should drive not more then 35 km/h
Awesome hike! Amazing views. The trail is mostly dry and rocky. About halfway is a water stop and it had running water. Other then not many places to get water except at each end.

One of the most beautiful valleys I have ever seen. Definitely recommend doing a walk through it or at least down to the river. Both start and finish of the valley are great spots to start your trip from with plenty of parking available.

One of the most impressive view points on the Vicos gorge. For people that do not scared of heights I would advise to continue a bit farther, about 30 meters towards the cliff. Stunning views from there...

The walk here was not extremely hard (our 4 year old daughter walked the whole distance) the view from this point is amazing and scary!
This is a fine location from which to see the main stretch of the gorge, giving a view that is almost the exact opposite of the Beloi Viewpoint. It is a spectacular gorge, even if it lacks some of the intimacy of some of the smaller, more twisty gorges which abound in Greece. Access from the village is just a few metres along a paved path, ok in a wheelchair with a little help.

There are three popular spots from which to get a good view along the main length of the Vikos Gorge and this is the most accessible from the village of Monodendri, which is where many people chose to stay. All offer spectacular views which are constantly changing with light and weather, time of day and season. In an ideal world you'd be able to come back frequently and visit them all, but for most of us this is probably a half hour stop then there are other places to move on to. Access from the road is along a rough but well trodden path, about 5-10 minutes but not suitable for wheelchairs (the viewpoint at the village of Vikos is much better for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility).
A must see place when you are in the area
I recommend walking by Foot and enjoying the view
Feels like the weather in this area is colder. So bring Options In case it Rains
The view from the monastery It's very beautiful, I also Recommend you go to the viewing point

There are 2 options. You can go along the main tourist road on the main viewpoint where most likely you’ll find huge amounts of tourists. Or, you can climb up on the top over the main view point. Usually there is no tourists, its quiet. Just go directly straight and climb couple of rocks. Its not hard at all.

Even though it is a bit of work to get on top of the hill, it is worth it for the 360-degree view. Be careful though if it is a sunny day, take some sun block with you, perhaps an umbrella. Also, for the faint-hearted, keep in mind that the stairs leading up to the viewpoint don't have the best rails to grab on to, so for people with height anxieties this might bit an issue. Apart from that the view is awesome, totally worth it.

Breathtaking and unique place! You can walk for 10 minutes from Monodendri to Agia Paraskevi Monastery.
Amazing deep gorge, famous for having a huge depth related to its width. View from the Oxya viewpoint past Monodendri and from the village of Vikos itself where there are a couple of small tavernas.

Looks nothing like the photos, you cannot capture the sheer size and sense of awe in a puny 2d image. Only 45 min drive from Ioannina, just rent a car and go see for yourself.

The trail to the viewpoint is easy but it took me an hour to get there as I am obese with bad knees and kept stopping for rest and pictures. The view at the end was well worth it! Breathtaking!

Gorgeous views. I didn't hike the area, but walked and had precarious paths off of the main road. Beautiful area. Apparently, the gorge is deeper than the grand canyon.

1,5km from parking. Take water with you. Medium difficulty way. Taking 15-20 min of none stop walking. At the end the Gorge Vikos canyon view just outstanding!!!
📍 The Pnyx Panorama is a beautiful lookout point located in the heart of Athens, Greece.

🕵️ It offers stunning views of the Acropolis, the Parthenon, and the surrounding cityscape.
It's a must-visit attraction for anyone traveling to Athens who appreciates beautiful scenery and ancient history.

🚶 To reach the Pnyx Panorama, visitors can take a short walk up a hill from the Monastiraki or Thissio metro stations.

📌 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended to arrive early in the evening before it gets completely dark as there are no lights in the park. Visitors should also be prepared to walk on uneven paths and steps to reach the top. Once there, it's a great spot to watch the sunset and take in the breathtaking views of Athens.

Simply unreal views. Absolute must go. Make sure you look around and behind you as vistas are in all directions. There is parking for about 20 cars at the trail start. It's a 15 minute walk from that parking. The trail is fairly easy in the summer, doable in good sandals but running shoes is better. Might be a bit muddy in a few spots if it rained recently but you can walk around. There are A LOT of bees around so if allergic bring an EpiPen.
Hands down one of the best views of the Acropolis. If I had limited time in Athens and needed to limit the places I would visit. This place would definitely be on my list. It’s a fantastic place and has a truly remarkable view of the Acropolis. (So if I had to choose between this place and any other viewpoint/hill, this would be the one).
