On the 1st of January 2024, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Meeshappulimala, Kerala's second-highest peak at 2640 meters (8724 feet) above sea level. Here's why this trek and summit experience left an indelible mark on me:

The adventure began on the 31st of December 2023 when we set out towards Meeshappulimala Base Camp, nestled at the highest altitude in Kerala. After a thrilling trek, we reached the base camp by afternoon, where the stunning surroundings and crisp mountain air immediately captivated us. Our spirits soared as we explored a nearby waterfall, its cascading waters a testament to nature's raw beauty.

As dusk settled, we gathered around a campfire for a hearty dinner, celebrating the New Year in the company of fellow adventurers. The night was spent under a star-studded sky, cocooned in tents, surrounded by the serenity of the wilderness.

New Year's dawn broke with a promise of breathtaking vistas. Setting off around 5 AM, we ascended towards the summit, greeted by a mesmerizing sunrise painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. The trail unfolded amidst verdant landscapes and occasional glimpses of wildlife, a testament to Kerala's biodiversity.

Reaching the pinnacle around 8 AM was a pinnacle of achievement. Standing atop Meeshappulimala, the panoramic view was simply awe-inspiring. The sprawling expanse below unveiled Munnar's Top Station, Kulukkumalai, and other iconic landmarks, mere specks in the vast canvas of nature. The ethereal cloud beds added a surreal touch, making it feel like stepping into a heavenly realm.

After soaking in the grandeur and tranquility of the summit for half an hour, we began our descent via an alternate route, descending through lush pine forests. The journey back, while challenging, offered encounters with Nilgiri thar and rejuvenating moments amidst the pine-scented air.

Overall, Meeshappulimala is a trekker's paradise and a nature enthusiast's dream come true. The combination of challenging terrain, breathtaking views, and serene wilderness makes it an unparalleled experience in Kerala. Whether you're an avid hiker or simply seeking a memorable adventure, I highly recommend Meeshappulimala. It's not just a trek; it's a transformative journey that leaves you with a deep appreciation for nature's splendor and the thrill of conquering new heights. Don't miss the opportunity to create your own unforgettable memories at Meeshappulimala.
The trekking taken 3.5 hours for us to complete. We saw beautiful hills , valley and flowers during the trekking. This is a must go place to add in your bucket list. It was freezing cold there.
Amazing place in South India. Once in a life gem. Book through KFDC munnar website and enjoy the mistic and fabulous views of grasslands and shola forest. Please be plastic free ,save earth and nature, such a beautiful place to hang around in munnar.
It was a mind-blowing experience for us. Meeshapulimala trekking was really one beyond our expectations 👍. We had our stay at Rhodo mansion villa provided by KFDC. Meeshapulimala hill range is the 2nd🥈 highest altitude of western ghats.

- We can experience the Meeshapulimala trekking only through KFDC Munnar.
- They have tent ⛺ stay options at Base camp and Rhodo mansion villa 🏠 stays at a higher altitude which is about 4 km ahead of the road from the base camp.

Early morning trekking on a series of 7 small hills ⛰️ will take us to the peak of Meeshapulimala. A guide will come along us to give us the directions and instructions. This trekking is surely going to give us many breathtaking views👌. Return journey from the peak is through another route which is completely different scenic frames👍.

- Strong wind will be there in a very low temperature climate ☃️, so close your ears, wear a cap and gloves.
- Wear boots 🥾 or shoes 👟with long socks as a protection from leaches.
- Please keep in mind that it is definitely a tough task to trek a few kilometers with steep up gradients and down gradients.
- You may keep chocolates 🍫 with you to maintain your energy levels especially while trekking in an empty stomach in the early morning.

But finally, you will definitely love these entire trekking moments which are memories for ever ✌️. Try to get a reservation in the on season itself.
Best place for finding peace in this busy world. View from here so soothing that we recall our old memories and enjoy being there.

Must visit place
One of the must visit place if you are a Trek enthusiast.
It is a hard trek as while climbing to peak its mostly steep, you need good trekking shoes and caps as it has very strong winds from start till end.
But after all this its all worth it from the top, you wont get a view like this is Munnar... Highly recommend
Best place in pune near swarget parvati hill 👌 👌

Its ok. In Goa you will get such view points very often.
Meeshapuli Mala in Munnar is a hidden gem for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. The trek to the top is challenging but incredibly rewarding, offering panoramic views of Munnar's lush landscapes. The diverse flora and fauna along the way add to the allure. Be prepared for a moderate to strenuous hike, but the breathtaking scenery at the summit makes it all worthwhile. A must-visit for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience in the Western Ghats.

This is the view from down the hill from view point.

You can reach here via chapora fishing point via shiva temple.

It's a bit harder to go after the shiva temple.

Absolutely worth the light trek to reach here. We went towards the end of monsoon when everything was green.
Witnessing the sunrise at Meeshapulimala is like stepping into a painting crafted by nature. As the first light kisses the sky, the mist-covered hills slowly unveil their beauty.

You have to climb approx 120 stairs along with a few metres of sloppy hill, but the view that you'll get would be the best.
Great place have little bit of climb but worth it. If you visit the place just before sunset you can take some good pictures.
Good place for weekends, thank you MP tourism for promoting and maintaining it.
Always a pleasure to walk around and be around the lake every visit.
Every time based on the climate and weather the views are stunning…

Due to climate change I guess the foothills or plains backwater migratory birds are now visible at the kodai lake…
More changes expected and looking for the best..
Overvalued place it is!!!
I was very excited to visit this place but unfortunately it is not even nearer to my expectations!!
If you're coming with friends just to drink wine thn this is your place otherwise food is worst than even Dhaba.
Don't believe on internet!!

Very good and safe place to visit. Easy to reach. Old people also can visit and walk arround peacefully. Close to Mhow Camp.
It was very nice experience you should also visit there 🐒🦔
PATALPANI: Again, a mesmerizing and one of the beautiful point to enjoy and feel the goodness of nature.

View from here is just awesome.

During the heavy rains in nearby region the flow of the water increases many folds and the sound of the falling water can be heard from the far distance.
This was awesome view of lake. Must visit places in kodaikanal for landscape and nature lovers.
Prefer scooty or bike
Too good.. best time to view is before 8am

Nice fort located in north Goa, many movies are shoot here. After 10-15min of hiking we have a beautiful view of the beach. Most of the fort was destructed. But still some watch points are there.
On the way to fort view point, shops of Juices, cucumber or snacks are available, but if you behave like outsider they will charge like anything. There is no entry fee here, only parking charges we have to pay. Overall good view is there on top with less hike. Best time for visit the fort is during sunrise/sunset.
Went for Darshan as early as 7 but still it was queued up. They charge entry from ₹30 onwards fro Darshan.

Also if you want faster Darshan you need to book special tickets a day early which starts from ₹250..

Must try Kodai's Special Breed omelette...
Ok place as i visited several times its a good place
The viewpoint tower is now closed as the entry is blocked... Beautiful serenic view of other side of hills
It was drizzling when we reached there. Beautiful view and amazing Boating place. As it was getting late and 🌧️ raining we were unable to boat there. I took a small video for the memory of the lake. Must visit places in Kodaikanal is the lake and the market slope. If u r new to the place u can ask anyone to guide you towards the classic slope where u can have fun with ur 🚗 car and ur driving skills.
I do suggest you visit that night time, during the day time it feel like it's just a free space......well it's just my feelings if I say so, night time the lighting is just breadth taking and the cool air really chills you. And I suggest everyone to visit on deepavali festival time.
Had a lovely experience. Pizza and fries are too good. Late Harvest Chenin Blanc is just amazing. Had a good time, space is less though. Lastly go at Dusk so as to get good pics at both sides of the time.

Great view in goa. Parking is costly. Chapora fort is must visit. You can watch boats sailing on the shore. Very good atmosphere. Too much people will be there on weekend and vacation time. Dil chahtha hei film was filmed here. Amir khan scene was shooted here.
Awesome place... Visit when off season
Depends on the time you go, otherwise you won't see anything
Awesome place to spend afternoon
Sucks the life out by the you climb up. Suffocating levels of vehicle going very slow up the hill. Not for people who love leisure, laid back attitude...

One of the best places if u wanna get a great view. Ud be able to see whole of Vagator beach on one side and Morjim beach on the other. A cool place to chill with your friends with cool breeze of air flowing all the time. I'd suggest this place to see the sunset cause the scenery is a blessing to the eyes. The only thing bad is the bottles of alcohol that people leave behind scattered on the ground. Enjoy and don't litter
Nice view of Pune City. Sunrise 😺 & sunset 🌇 are worth watching from Parvati. Temples, smarak & museum are worth visiting.

Amazing place ... Good choice of wines .. best way to promote made in India concept !!! The restaurant has a nice view ! Waiters needs to trained aptly to interact with guest more !! We were not served water for more then 20 mins nor even approached by any staff even to be greeted ! Food tastes good ! Many photo opportunities ! Tasting session is nice and quite informative !
Definitely a much clear, wonderful view of the Pune city from the hilltop which actually is a treat to watch for the visitors. Good place for nature photography lovers.
They are misleading people and charging them Rs. 200/- PP as cover charge and they say that it is refundable which is absolutely not true. Very indecent people and their restuarant is highly over priced and the food is also not upto the mark.
Coolest place for an informative hangout
Sula wine yard best place to chill out near nashik satpur road nature beauty
Sula wine yard best place to chill with friends and family
Nature beauty also go to backwater very beautiful place to visit
A historic place with amazing atmosphere in the evening and the morning. A perfect place to get refreshed. A nice place for photography and nature lovers. At the top of the hill lies Parvati temple. You get a great view of Pune from the top of the Tekdi. The place is worth a visit. There is also a museum at the back of the temple. People with disabilities might find it difficult to reach at the top as there are approx. 103 steep stairs. The temple is almost open throughout the day from 6 in the morning till 8 in the evening. Try to use stairs in the dark as there is a well if you go by trek.
nice place...Must visit even if you don't want to taste wine ... They have decorated the place so well and neat... Theme is great. Beautiful ground and benches are there to sit ... people love clicking pics on yellow bicycle in entry. Live music. Restaurants are good. Good food. Wine testing is also there... They explain it so well. You will definitely enjoy it.in afternoon its bit croudy
