Its usually crowded in the weekend. You can stay there for a night or get breakfast or relax here during your hiking.it also has restrooms and and small coffee shop
Pleasant resting spot after a long hike! Their breakfast is also worth a try. It could be a bit cleaner though

I didn't expect much, so I'll give it 4 stars (for basically staying at the place for 2×10 minutes). The first driver who took us to Gofsand Sara was OK. Then some people tried to convince us to get our backpack to Camp 3 by mule, which we kindly declined. Good thing was that he didn't push it more. The other who took us back to Camp 1 was very nice, spoke English quite well and was very helpful. Cheers to him!

A simple, no-fuss place for basic needs. Little English is spoken, but with Google Translate you can get answers for your trickier questions as well. There is a small shop selling snacks and water (so don't expect anything for dinner), and there are dorm rooms with bunk beds. Our room floor was flooded somehow, so ended up using our shoes in the room as well (you need to take them off when entering a room). Hot shower is available. The staff can organize 4WDs to get you to Camp 2. The place could be cleaner, but for 1 night I cannot complain. The manager/staff tries to help wherever he/they can. Altogether, a simple but effective place.

Very helpful with preparation for the climb. You can park and camp here for a small fee (300k I think per tent), 450k per night for parking. 300k for shower. You can buy food here and the permit to climb Damavand. They have WiFi.
This is the place where you can take horses for you luggage and start hiking up to the main shelter.
Simple hostel having 4-6 bunk beds. Some rooms have private bathrooms, some not.
Hostel has common kitchen and tiny shop to buy water and some snacks. They offer camping in the garden and equipment rental.
On our first day our room was dirty. Was going to post bad review but on the last day it was very clean.
Don’t expect comfort and hight quality. But the hostel itself is very good value for people who is going to climb Damavand

"The Palangchal Resort is located at the end of a hiking trail in Darakeh, and after a 2-kilometer trek, you'll reach the 5th Touchal Station. The environment is completely calm and peaceful, providing a good feeling to visitors. The manager, Mr. Amir Shams Azar, who is affectionately called Mr. Shahrazad by friends, serves delicious omelets. I highly recommend giving it a try."

It’s the old base camp of Mt Damavad and I’ve of the best place to stay for who wants to climb the summit

آفتاب کم جونی داره و کمتر می سوزید
شب هاش هم خوراکه کمپ کردنه . هر چند رگبار و باران گهگداری می زنه که اگه صبر کنید چند دقیقه بعد تمومه . فقظ ابری میاد و می ره
شبهاش پرستاه
مراقب مارمولک ها یا همون بزمجه های بزرگش هم باشید . گاها از 30 سانت ب نزدیک یک متر می رسند . هر چند که شما با اونا کاری نداشته باشید اونا با شما کاری ندارن

Actually it's considered as a basecamp for mountaineers in all seasons.
Vehicle from here to the beginning points of climbing is available. You should pay about $1.5 for a bed each night (Jan.2020) and use the kitchen and bathroom and services.
After your ascent, showing your photo on the summit, you can take a certificate from them with the signature and stamp of I.R.Iran Mountaineering and Sport Climbing Federation, you may take a typed version of this certificate entitled Championship certification afterward from the administrative department of the federation, Pasdaran St. Tehran. Tourist may charge about $20 for the certificate.

Locals will milk you! It costs 100 thousand Tomans to take your bag to the court 3 (4200m) by mule. There is free water there but no electricity.

You can't go to the based camp by your own car, you need to pay 1,500,000 IRR to the guard to get you there

یادش بخیر سال ۹۰ اولین تجربه ارتفاع بالای ۴هزار متر بود و همیشه اولین ها توی خاطره ها بدجوری حک میشند. یه تجربه خوب از کوهستان و ارتفاع بود. والبته با اینکه صعود رو صبح زود شروع کردیم ولی متاسفانه بعلت کندی حرکت گروه زمان لازم رو ازدست دادیم و بعلت مه شدید از چند قدمی قله برگشتیم طوری که صدای بقیه هم باشگاه ما که از جبهه شمالی رسیده بودند قله شنیده میشد،بهرحال عالی بود.

A great place for the last stop before reaching the Damavand summit (the highest mountain in the Middle East) from the Northern side. Northern side is much less crowded than Southern, so it makes sense even considering longer distance from Tehran. The team managing the camp is very hospitable and helpful, but they don't speak English. Tents are spacious. The food is good considering you are pretty far from any road or village. Caveats: Around 4250m above the see level, so you already can get altitude sickness. There is no running water
Good as a base to climb damavand
Lovely path from Darake to Palangchal shelter.After 2 hour and half you are gonna arrive to this shelter and after some rest you can come back, stay or go to Tochal statin 5 and 7 and after that Tochal summit.Also you can go from station 5 to Shirpala shelter and come back from Darband.
Great camp service at altitude 4350 m, very tasty and fresh food, friendly staff and comfortable tent to spend several nights at such a beautiful camp area over clouds. They care about environment in any side.

The starting point for the Damavand climb. It is possible to buy entrance to the national park for 50 USD. Accommodation here costs about 4 USD.
