This is an amazing place. I came here at 1130 after hiking up and down. I was the only client there. The borrowed view scenery is very apt for this part of the woods. I tried the herring set and it's amazing. The herring has been prepared in similar fashion to unagi in that it's sweet and umami. The soup stock is chock full of umami. Noodles ok. They serve tea free flow and also some sweets if you visit after lunch. Hidden gem
Run by the cutest and sweetest grandma ever. Tried cold udon, oden, and traditional warabimochi, and they were all excellent. Very authentic Japanese experience.

A cozy little restaurant singlehandedly manned by this lovely little grandmother. The food was warm and delicious. I think it’s the best soba noodles I have had, but I have not had enough to be a critic on the topic so take this with a pinch of salt.

The place was so near Don Quixote Tenjin and was easy to find. Prices are cheaper compared to others but food tasted really good! I recommend the shrimp tempura bowl. Accommodating staff as well.

Like having lunch at your grandma’s! Very homey simple place that doesn’t even look like a restaurant from the road; you have to walk a few meters down a path first. Food was very good. They should tidy up the outside a bit - but don’t let that put you off.

지나가다 그냥 들어갔는데 여기가 진짜 찐입니다. 개애애애애애애애존맛탱. 오래된 일본 전통 노포가게 분위기에 면도 직접 반죽하고 자르시더라구요. 시땡땡 우동 2시간 기다려서 먹고 실망해서 다 남겼는데 여긴 국물까지 완그릇했습니다. 그리고 가격도 너무 착해요. 제발 시땡땡 기다리느라 시간 버리지 마시고 여기 가세요. 후쿠오카 와서 한번 먹은 음식점은 다시는 안가는데 여긴 벌써 두번이나 갔습니다. 여기가 진짜라니깐요.

はなまるうどんは好きなのですが、ネギを強制的に入れられてしまうのが残念です。手際がよく言えるタイミングもありません。ネギアレルギーは重いと命に関わるので、ネギを入れていいかの確認をしてもらえたら嬉しいです。
お会計を待っていた時に、たまたま前の方と注文内容が同じで、その方の注文サイズが間違っており、私の注文に対し間違ってませんか？とレジ担当から言われる。確認の為だとしてもいい気分では、無いですよね。たまたま同じだっただけなのに…と思いました。(やや混んでいたので同時進行で2人の店員が作っていた。)もうこのままでいいです。と、前の方は、仰っていました。

店内その時点では空いていて、待たずに入店できましたが、食べ終わった12:50ころまでにだんだんとお客さんが増えてきて、入店待ちが発生していました。
丸天うどん（税込570円）、わかめうどん（税込520円）、いなり2個（税込140円）を注文しました（値段は2023年11月5日現在）。
素揚げごぼうがついくる「助六うどん（税込640円）」が一番人気らしいですが、売り切れていました。
うどんは太めのやわらかい麺。表面なめらかで口当たりよかったです。
お味、ボリューム、お値段どれをとってもまずまず平均点のうどん屋さんでした。新天町の中にあって値段はむしろお手頃と言えるかも。
いなりはどちらかと言うと小ぶりでした。
個人的にはれんげがないのが残念。店員さんに言えば出てくるのかも知れませんが．．．

One of the best udon noodles ever! We had beef and kari udon noodles and they were delicious. We got generous portion of noodles, meat and sauce.

In a bustling tourist hotspot, you'll find a charming, small, and traditional restaurant managed by a delightful Japanese couple. Their service is remarkably attentive, and the quality of the meals is outstanding, especially considering the reasonable prices. I strongly recommend paying them a visit if you're in the vicinity, and don't miss out on their delectable curry udon!

テーブルはガタガタするし、BGMは昭和の歌謡曲…うわぁ楽しみにしていた福岡がぁ！…
あれ？でもなんか違う、接客してくださるかたの声が心地よく、対応のテンポもいい感じで気持ちいいですよ、提供されたビール🍻はスーパードライ❗️一杯目には最高です、そして天ぷらも程よい衣で揚げ具合も美味しい、更にうどんも喉越し良く美味で大満足、あっという間にペロリ、おかげさまで美味しくいただきました、ご馳走様でした。やっぱり福岡最高です😀

流石に酷すぎたので記載させていただきます。店員さんに注文をお願いしようと声をかけたらシカトされ、最初気づいてないだけかと思いましたが、目が合っても対応しない数分後にようやくこっちに来て嫌そうな顔をしながら接客され、うどんを入れてる最中に何も言わずに離れて数分別の作業戻ってきたかと思ったら何も言わずに注文した商品の準備を始める。温玉を注文したのですが温玉にはご飯粒がついてたりなどひどかったです。
普段利用させていただいてる時はゴキブリがいたりとかしましたが、それは飲食店だからしょうがないかと思っていましたが、スタッフさんのことなので記載させていただきました。もう2度と行きません。

Simple no frill restaurant. Noodles tasty at Y550. Should try.
Terrible experience. Been sat for half an hour waiting for our food and drinks. We didnt even get all our drinks. The waiter had horrible manners and wasnt polite to us. It was extortionate, would highly not recommend going there at all.

Waited 30 minutes for our overly expensive food and drinks, then people who ordered their food after us got theirs first, they then forgot one of our drinks by which point we couldn't be bothered to deal with them anymore and just got up and left... should avoid and go somewhere nicer if you can
Our first trip to Japan and this was the first udon place we stopped in in Fukuoka. Visited other places in Osaka, Hiroshima and Kyoto, but this was the best. Came here just before we returned home. Favorite place!

カレーうどんのセットを注文。出汁が美味しく、カレーの旨味を最大限に引き出していた。ピークタイムを外して行ったので、ゆったりと食事を楽しめた。

A very unpretentious spot for a very delicious and homy udon! I ordered nabeyaki udon. The place is very rustic, and I was served by a grandmother who is very gentle and kind. She joked with my son. The dashi in nabeyaki is amazing! Ordered a riceball as well which are great!
Delicious meal prepared by 80 year old grandma. She has been in the originally teahouse for 50 years now. Very accomodating and lovely.
I highly recommend the herring soba, price has increased by 200 yen which is now 1200 yen but it has eggplant tempura and tofu. All dishes are made and grown locally around the area. The tofu is amazing, never tried anything like it.

I’ve been to Japan for more than 20 times. Today it’s the worst experience that I’ve never had in Japan. They ignore the order from foreign customers and serve Japanese priorly. The boss is not willing to admit the mistake, and then ask me “ what do you want?” rudely. It doesn’t deserve to receive 3.91/5 in tabelog. There are a lot of beautiful scenes and friendly people in Kyoto, so DON’T waste your time coming here.
What a gem we found!! A very simple, authentic eatery run by the sweetest 80 year old grandma. We had the herring soba and udon. Would have liked to try the tofu sets but apparently advanced reservation was needed. Everything was delicious!! We were even surprised by a little dessert grandma bought us after. As others have said, grandma takes time to share a little about herself and her restaurant after. She even tried to teach us some regional Japanese. A truly memorable meal. Ōkini 🙂

開店して間もない頃でお客さん少ない内にと思い入店、温かい蕎麦のかつ丼定食を注文しました。ちょうどいい量で、ゆっくり美味しく味わえました。ごちそうさまでした。
I respect the owner's hussle and his attentik to detail. He seems pushy but actually is a nice person at heart. Another customer asked for a tooth pick... The resturant didn't have any, but he went inside and took a disposable tooth pick /floss combo from his personal stash and gave one to him. This guy has heart ❤️
It taste very bad, udon softer than freeze type. The udon cup noodle is even better.

Lovely, traditional udon restaurant tucked away on a side street. In an area swamped with tourists, this is a real gem. Great food and calming atmosphere inside.
Udon is very delicious 😋 and soup is soft I love
Im not a big fan of udon myself, so this review may be alittle tad biased. But objectively speaking, it is good udon and the soup is flavourful in a simple way.
But what topped my expectation is the oyakodon. For the price, you would not have expected that this is the show-stealer. Definitely one of the better oyakodons out there.
You can skip the chinese soba. Just… Skip it.

So nice! Good quality Udon, great prices as well. As soon as I sat down the lady served me a cold glass of water, and was so sweet great service throughout.

Udon delicious , price so nice,have chinese menu
The kitsune udon I had was very delicious, with the broth very savoury and a slight bit sweet. The udon noodles were cooked to perfection and were so soft I could slurp them up. The beancurd carried the taste of the broth while adding a bit more sweetness to the taste. The elderly couple were very friendly and the service was fast.

One star's for NOT ALLOWING US TO CHOOSE which seat do we wanna sit, but their food is great tasting! Not a fan of udon here, but I highly recommend theirs. I tried their burdock?+fish cake I don't know something udon. Please refer to the photos. The ambiance is bit cozy, tables' not to close to each other. Didn't see their toilet. Overall, the place is clean and comfy. I just don't like their door because you have to touch it for it to open. Alcohol and thermometer at the entrance. The place is highly accessible since it's located along a major road, and parkings where 5mins away on foot. Roads where narrow going to the parking though and tons of pedestrian along the way, so be careful. They don't accept major credit cards, just nimocas, paypays etc.

They offer wide variety of udon dishes as well as some other dishes from Japan cuisine.
Their prices are very reasonable, so to be very full you’ll need less than 1000 yen.

I wasn`t the biggest fan, but since the taste is somewhat different to your average Udon it might be yours! Staff is very nice, and atmosphere is very raw, if that makes sense
A cosy udon restaurant filled with local atmosphere! The udon is uniquely chewy and the soup is extraordinary! You can see the chef hand-made the udon in front of you and made the noodle right before he cooked. And the staffs are very friendly. But there is neither menu in other languages nor menu with pictures. You may refer to the pictures in google review to order.

If you are a foreigner, never eat here. The shopkeeper is a extreme racist. If you walk into this store ignoring this warning, you will be thrown out of the business in the face of severe insults by the shopkeeper.
