Don’t expect any kind of good service here, actually don’t expect any service as the staff here are just rude and couldn’t care less even though the shop is empty. But food is good and might be worth a visit.

Popular among tourists and locals. The main draw of the place is the wooden traditional Korean building. Service crews understood English but didn't speak well. Overall experience felt rushed as they chased us out once we were down to the last scoop. Chicken soup was decent, we tried both black and white chicken variety and ginseng powder was provided separately to be added into soup, there is also a small piece of ginseng wrapped in the main body. Even though nice, by itself the soup barely tasted any ginseng. Come if the queue is short, otherwise try elsewhere.
Every thing that I’ve tried in Korea was more than amazing. If you live in Asia, Seoul is a must go to place because of all the different types of food. I definitely think Korean food is the best Asian food hands down.

I was recommended by a local to try out this shop. There are a lot of tourists coming to visit this store as well.
We arrived around 12 pm and only queued for less than 5 minutes. I ordered the ginseng chicken soup, and the taste was good. It is perfect to have it during winter.
They serve an entire chicken in a bowl, and inside the chicken, they use purple rice as filling, which makes you feel full.
Additionally, it is served with some small dishes such as kimchi and marinated radish.
The serving pace was fast, our food arrived within 10 minutes after the order was placed, even though it was crowded.
The restaurant is spacious as well, which makes you feel like you've arrived at someone's house instead of a restaurant.

Great flavors of ginseng chicken soup, both the black and white chicken versions. Ginseng wine is served for all as an option to add more flavor to the soup. Place is usually crowded with a long queue though but at least we got our chance to check it out.
A must go place each time we visit seoul. Have been lucky that each time there was no queue which is likely because the amount of seating inside is huge.

gets crowded v quickly especially during lunch time. If you can, try to come earlier to skip the queue. Not pleasant especially in cold blazing winds. Otherwise black chicken ginger soup 31K won is quite nice - I think it's enough for one person. Chicken needs a bit of work to eat though so patience is required.
Hearty chicken soup, great on a cold day. The black silky chicken was interesting, as was the ginseng. The flavours were quite plain, but not in a bad way. And the meals are served with Kimchi and soybean chili paste on the side if you want to spice things up.

This is very similar to Chinese braised chicken but Korean style. Love the sweet potato noodles in it. The potatoes were also cooked till it is soft and absorbs the sauce. I like how we put the gravy into the radish broth to have the gravy diluted to soup.
Was there on a Sunday at noon, restaurant was closed. Disappointed.

Overall, a nice place to try Korean food before entering to the gates. I had the spicy pork soup from E, which I enjoyed. Besides the rice being a little dry, I thought it was a nice meal.
Located near changdeokgung and changgyeonggung, ordered their samgyetang, because the portion already big, so 1 portion was for 2 people for me. Mineral water was free. The service quite fast and friendly, there were some local guests dine-in here. The taste was fresh and warm, loved it, the rice like sticky rice, had octopus inside. The ahjumma teach us how to eat chili with chili sauce, honestly, the chili not spicy at all, the chili was crispy, but local loved to eat this. The ahjumma also push me to tried bimbimbap, but i refused because i only want to eat samgyetang.

Light but flavourful ginseng soup with tender chicken meat. Glutinous rice was wrapped within the chicken and the ginseng flavour was stronger in the rice. Seafood pancake had the right texture too. Comes with ginseng wine and lots of side dishes. Makes a very filling and satisfying meal. Ambience gives off traditional village vibes and the waiters were generally friendly with fast service.
I had the a great Korean meal at this spot in the airport! The grilled mackerel was cooked to perfection and everything tasted sooo good. The service was super fast and the place had plenty of room for everyone. And get this, the prices were surprisingly cheap! I couldn't believe it since airport food is usually pricey. If you're ever craving Korean food at the airport, this place is a must-try!

While in Seoul, we found out that Korea Ginseng Chicken Soup was a Michelin rated restaurant. We aren't fine dining connoisseurs/experts by any means, however we thought that this is a must try.

We looked around and there were a number of locals and they were all having the Ginseng Chicken Soup. It smelled fantastic in the restaurant and we thought we really can't go wrong with getting the main staple dish.
We ordered, and in no time, a boiling pot of Chicken Soup was deposited onto the table. I mean bubbling boiling ! And continuing to bubble boil for at least 5 mins after being on the table.
Once the soup cooled a bit, we dug in. This is pure comfort food! If you thought of what Chicken soup should be... well this is it !

Bukchon samgyetang 25,000KWR and normal samgyetang 15,000KWR. Difference between the two was octopus and abalone. Meat was okay but not the most tender we've had. Bimbimbap was average. A mediocre dining experience!
Definitely a tourist trap. Chicken was dry and tough. Jjimdak gravy too watery. Topped off with poor service from the waitress who looked like she couldn't stand being in that restaurant for another second. Fortunately still managed to get awesome Jjimdak at Premium Jjimdak at Gangnam instead. 1000% better

Was there at 12 on a Sunday so it was quieter. The chicken and soup were refreshing, very clean taste. Not a store with a long queue but I personally, I loved the taste.
Highlight from me apart from the ginseng abalone(3 large abalones) chicken was their ginseng liquor. It just tastes well with the ginseng chicken soup somehow. It's a short distance from Courtyard by Marriot hotel.

There were three tables eating, we ordered first and the Korean couple ordered last. It took like 20 mins to cook and they served the dish for Korean couple first and ours at last. During the meal, the owner turned off the AC next to us without asking us. It was a hot day and i asked the owner to turn the AC back on, then he was saying swear words in Korean, which was very rude.

The soup here is absolutely fantastically made and homemade. This place definitely proved its Michelin guide recommendation. The fried chicken is also really great and crispy. The servers were caring and helpful throughout the entire experience.
Wow!!! So refreshing and so delicious! Yes, a bit pricey (25,000 won or about $20 for a big bowl of black chicken with ginseng soup), but so worth it and so fulfilling too. Highly recommend this 👍
The ginseng chicken soup is a Korean traditional food that must try! The taste is soft with no seasoned flour. Then, I have eaten the garlic kimchi at first time, it’s tasty one and I prefer the fried chicken which is so good. I heard here is received the Michelin award in 2017 and 2018, it’s cool. I really like the outside of restaurant that decorates the beautiful garden and unique tables, when we have a lunch there, it has a good feeling with among of nature.
Definitely worth a visit and worthy of their Michelin bib gourmand recognition many years in a row.
Piping hot bowls of fragrant chicken stuffed with a concoction of rice and ginseng root in a soup full of umami. This is by far one of the best ginseng chicken in Korea, on par with if not better than the famous tosokchon and definitely more elderly/kid friendly with chairs and tables.

This place is delicious! I ordered from restaurant H - Noodle House and ordered #3 hot (temperature not spicy) buckwheat noodles with kimchi dumplings for 11,900 won. It was a huge portion and delicious! The broth on the noodles was delectable. I wasn’t feeling super well and this put me back in action.
You need to consider the waiting time if you are on rush. Other that everything was good! Overall was a satisfying meal that we empty the plate~ slurps ~ 😋

숙성회와 가라아게는 언제나처럼 맛있었고 아쉽지만 일반소주를 더 이상 취급 안하신다네요. 소주와 회를 먹고 싶으면 일품진로나 화요 드셔야합니다.

You can have Korean Jjambbong and the other Korean foods here. If you want to enjoy this food court, you have to visit before departure. It is at basement 1 of Terminal 2. The food will be prepared after you pay the bill. The food was so so. I can feel the breath of the wok. You can get drinking water as well. Enjoy.
Love the jjimdak at this place. We were in seoul for 6 nights and we started and ended the trip with dinners here. Wholesome braised chicken. Some may find the glass noodles a little too chewy. We did too and asked for less of it. Had the jjimdak with rice instead. Very satisfying meal.
Everytime I depart from Korea I eat Chjajang myun(black bean sauce noodle) from Kydong Chjamppong. I also ordered Tangsuyuk( sweet and sour pork) this time. Chjajangmyun was still good but Tangsuyuk was so so. Thus is a good place to eat last minute Korean food. 😋

I loved this place! First time trying jjimdak, was recommended this place by a local. The stew is warm and hearty making it perfect for cold weather. The cheese is a must for cheese lovers - it makes the dish even more satisfying! Plus, get the scorched rice; It gives a lovely added crunch to your meal. Will return!

good reasonable set lunches. if you go by yourself like me you can’t order the sashimi set so i ordered the nigiri set instead (only option if you want a set). comes with udon soup, miso soup, salad. i feel like the sashimi selection is better than the nigiri though.. nice staff and some can speak a little english.
셋이 가서 사시미3인세트인가 시키고 김초밥을 시켰는데 모든 메뉴가 맛있었어요. 기본 밑반찬으로 나오는 곤약까지도 맛있더군요 간장에 고추넣고 조린? 방식이었는데ㅎㅎ 특히 김초밥은 양 맞출 겸해서 별 기대없이 시켰는데 밸런스도 좋고 만족스러웠어요 테이블끼리 자리도 너무 가깝지 않고 분위기도 편안한 분위기라 여유있게 식사를 즐기기 좋아요. 아쉬운 점은 양이 조금 적은 편이었고 웨이팅이 길다는 점. 맛있는 곳인 것은 맞지만 개인적으로는 삼사십분씩 기다려서 먹을 만큼은 아니라고 생각했어용^^;;

인터넷에서 이곳을 보고 괜찮아 보여 방문했던 곳입니다. 아직은 많이 유명하지는 않은 것 같은데 금방 유명해질 것 같네요.
우선 가게 내부는 카운터석 6-8석이 있고 테이블 좌석도 있습니다. 카운터 좌석을 선호해 카운터좌석에 앉았네요. 가게가 생긴지 얼마 되지 않아 매우 깔끔했습니다.
이날 사시미모리아와세2인(3.5), 우니추가(2.2), 치킨가라아게(0.7)을 주문했는데 가성비가 훌륭하다는 느낌을 받았습니다.
사시미가 구성도 괜찮고 신선했었습니다. 숙성도도 딱 좋았었네요. 그리고 스시복 인스타그램에 방문해보니 사장님이 굉장히 열심히 재료를 준비하고 좋은 재료를 쓰시는 것 같았습니다.
치킨가라아게도 바삭바삭하니 맛있었습니다.
원래는 사시미를 먹은 후 전복내장볶음면을 주문하고 싶었었는데 재료가 소진되어 주문을 못했습니다.

This is a random dinner spot I entered for BBQ buffet at Jong-ro 10, near Jonggak Station. Unlimited top up of marinated pork belly, pork cuts, pork sirloins, beef cuts, kimchi, greens, onions in vinegar, garlic, bean paste, and other side dishes.

1년을 못버티고 폐업, 두번정도 가봤었는데 하루는 너무 너무 늦게 나와서 너무 급하게 먹고 회사들어갔었음....
We wanted to try eating Samgyetang so we were delighted when we saw the restaurant's sign as we were walking in Namdaemun Market. We were surprised that one chicken order is only for one person but still, we had one each. hahaha! To our surprise, each bowl has one whole chicken in it. We thought that it was too much at first but we were both able to eat everything nonetheless. This is the first time that I've eaten samgyetang so I have nothing to compare it with but it's delicious and the owner was really friendly.
