We came here for the banchan and it did not dissapoint! Fantastic lunch. We got the 13,000 pp (approx $13 USD) "basic" which included 10 dishes of assorted banchan, rice, bowl of delicious doenjang-jjigae vegetable soup, and a small bowl of the best tasting bulgogi. The fresh banchan was unlimited- fabulous quality and flavor. We were in Korean food heaven!! If you want more bulgogi, you can order the 16,000 option (approx $16 USD). All items come with unlimited banchan.
Crowded small place- all locals. We came at about 1pm. Super fast service. It's loud, it's lively and totally worth it. Cash only. Best authentic food we've had in Seoul, incredible quality and value, especially for the assorted banchan. We will come back again before we leave this amazing country!

Great experience to eat in this little restaurant hidden in a basement. Friendly owner, lots of locals. Tried the beef bulgogi, which was delicious. Would recommend this authentic Korean restaurant.

Delicious ! Come without thinking. People eat fast, so stay waiting for the place if needed ( we had 2d floor no chairs seats) Payment only with cash or Korean cards. Not that expansive, super tasty, especially lotus side dish

Wondered the streets to find a place to eat, they had a queue but space specifically for two people. So we got in. Service was quick. Friendly.

Superb quality for the price! Our group went there since there weren't much restaurants open at 8am. We were satisfied with the food quality and we were glad the waitress spoke Chinese too.
Would highly recommend the option with ginseng since the one with just chicken broth was slightly bland for our taste.

The food here is soo good. The cold noodles were delicious & the rice cakes with bulgogi, the best everr. Definitely coming back.
What an amazing place I’ve stumbled upon. The whole building already sets itself apart from the rest. The service/staff are amazing. The food even better! A good sign that the food will be great is when you see a lot of locals dining. I will definitely come back for this very authentic place. If I may recommend some food it would be the ‘spicy cold noodles’ with ‘rice cake stick with beef’

고등어 백반하고, 오징어덮밥 그리고 막껄리 한병.. 그렇게 먹고 마셨는데, 고등어백반은 얘전 종로 고갈비 골목이 생각나 시킨건데.. 이건 구워놓으신지 좀 되었는지 별로였고, 오징어는 맛있었습니다, 오징어가 덮밥형식이 아니라 따로 반찬식으로 나오시네요, 와이엠씨에이 뒷골목으로 쭉 따라가다보면 있어요.
Line seemed long but they were super efficient! Got 2 x spicy pork bulgogi set menu and it was so delicious and filling. You can pay by either Korean card or cash, no foreign cards FYI. Menu has English dish labels and our very friendly server also spoke great English, if that’s something that worries you. Seems to service the salary people who work in the area!
Every patron has to order their own portion. Soup is good, chicken is tender but the rice within the chicken is too soggy and sticky to be nice.

29 May 2023 - Ordered both white chicken (with Ginseng is 25000 Won while without Ginseng is 19000 Won), the taste was fine but I will think that we can try other places for ginseng chicken soup. The staff was quite pushy for us to place our orders and kept recommending the black chicken with ginseng which is the most expensive dish (approximately 30000 Won if I did not remember wrongly). As it was a Monday late morning, the place was pretty quiet, only around 5 tables filled. 🙂
I enjoyed 2 meals here while staying nearby. The food was delicious and the ambiance is quite nice here. The staff all work hard.
Their banchan we're so delish! Esp the yangoon lotus root, never had anything like this.. the soup was incredible.. the bulgogi was tasty but I've had better.. I definitely would go back again just to eat all the side dishes!!

However, the attending staff keep standing beside the table and repeatedly recommending the most expensive Samgyetang. Feel irritated and thanks to our insistence to stick to our preference. 😂
Overall, the taste of the Samyetang is great. But the pricing is getting higher and higher after each year. 😣

This restaurant has a branch in Singapore which is incredibly popular with always a long queue. However, the original one in Seoul offers the same delectable food without the overwhelming crowds. Even on a weekday night, getting a table is a breeze, and reservations are unnecessary.

I went here for a late lunch. There was no waiting line and it wasn't a problem that I came alone. The food arrived quickly and the portion was large. When in doubt just order the first thing in the menu. Please note this place is cash only.
If i had a Korean grandma and she cooked for me ginseng chicken soup, I hope it would taste as good as this

Regular customer here every time I go visit to Korea. Always had the regular white chicken, which had already filled my satisfaction. However, this trip I was recommended their signature black chicken, a very rare sight in the states. We were approached by the very friendly lady manager(?) who had given us a detailed and clear explanation of the dish, so we decided to try it out. Was very surprised with the dish, as it had really energized me and gave me a healthy feeling overall, with its already delicious taste. Definitely a must visit place with its historical name and popular tourist location.

I visited this restaurant on the recommendation of one of my best friends. I was expecting more because i heard it is popular with office workers nearby during lunchtime... but I am also satisfied. I ate the "set meal(정식세트)" ₩12,000. The main dish served every day is different (bossam meat(보쌈고기) and kimchi stew on Friday), and all the side dishes were delicious. Once you order, the food comes out super fast. It would be nice to order after everyone is seated. When you go out to eat alone, go after 1:30 pm so you won't have to wait in line and you'll be able to eat comfortably. Except main dish(보쌈고기), you can ask refill as much as you wanted.
Convenient location in Myeongdong! They offer a free ginseng shot once you’re seated. The chicken was great but was not able to finish it alone. Generous portions.

Stumbled across this place and it was a true blessing. Thankfully they have English menus and the staff speaks a little English, and welcoming and friendly which I can honestly say on my week holiday here is a rarity.
The prices are very reasonable and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I went with the Chulpan beoseokbulgogi samjungsik, which is the beef bulgogi set. And it did not disappoint; so much variety, colour and deliciousness in one cheap package (13000). The complimentary house tea was so warm and delicious I didn’t bother buying a drink.
I was on holiday for 6 days in Seoul and can honestly say this was one of my top 3 dishes on this trip. The food, the service and the atmosphere all came together to bring a memorable experience.

I recommend Gookbop (pork soup) and Soowook (steamed pork slice) the meat is so soft it literally melts in your mouth! The location is not very clean, but consider it as part of the cultural experience. The whole district is about old korean culture. Highly recommended.

다른 곳에 비해 비싸다고 생각할지 모르지만 우선 크기가 달라요. 삼계탕의 닭은 살이 많고 국물은 닭발로 육수를 내서 사골 국물 같아요. 구수하고 깔끔해서 계속 손이 갑니다. 닭 튀김의 닭도 크고 실해서 두개 이상 못 먹어요.

외국인 손님이랑 여기서 점심 먹을려고 입구 들어가기전에 앞에 생선굽는 곳이 있길래, 제 외국인손님이 들어가기전 사진 찍고싶다고 해서 생선 사진 한장 찍고 있었습니다. 일하는 아줌마인지 사장님인지 모르겠지만 저희를 보시고 외국인손님 팔을 탁 치면서 이걸 사진을 왜찍냐고 다짜고짜 짜증내시더라고요. 기분좋게 식사하려다가 기분 불쾌해서 그냥 안들어가고 다른곳 갔습니다. 찍지마라고 그냥 말로하면 되는걸 그렇게 무례한 행동을 해야했나요? 맛을떠나서 직원교육좀 제대로 시키세요

Quán ăn này cũng nhỏ thôi, nhưng đồ ăn khá ngon. Món gà hầm nhân sâm ăn rất lạ, thịt gà hầm mềm tới xương, khá giống với gà ác tiềm thuốc bắc ở VN ở một số loại nguyên liệu sử dụng, nhưng khác cái là nước này vị nhân sâm, nếu lúc đầu ăn có vị hơi lạ. Ngoài ra, bên trong gà giống như được nhồi nếp, hơi ngán chút, nên ăn kém với kim chi thì sẽ ổn hơn!

안나와서 조금 아쉬움이 잇네요.

Had the spicy chicken soup (dakgehjang). Not too spicy and edible, though a bit heavy on the MSG.
The side dishes were nothing to write home about, for sure. The kimchii and ggakdoogi were way too salty.
If I were in the Lotte Department Store and looking for a quick bite of Korean dishes, and really didn't want to eat anything else, this place is passable. But if you're looking for something more memorable or sophisticated or a meal you don't want to regret spending money on, keep looking.

양배추 위주의 샐러드도 나왔는데 손을 안대서 맛을 모르겠고.. 바베튜는 실했다. 29천원인데 남자 둘이서 밥으로 먹어도 충분하거나 좀 남을 양. 남자 셋이서 작정하고 먹으면 딱 맞거나 약간 부족할 정도였다.
전체적으로 모든 고기들이 잘 구워졌고 소스들도 과하지 않게 잘 어우러졌다.
연남동엔 겉만 번지르르하고 맛은 별로인 가게들이 많은데, 잇 스트릿은 프로틴 충전을 원하는 사람들에게 추천할 만하다.

A very nice place to have goat screws. Reasonable price, hygienic and delicious food. Clerks are very kind. Highly recommended.
