I love the experience it is soooo fun! And I love their animals ❤️
Nice and small animal city
Is maintained but plenty of room for improvement
A wide variety of animals such as bear, lion, tiger, flamingo, ostrich, monkeys, birds, horse, goat, chicken, ducks etc
Entrance $5 and horse riding $5 per kid
Entrance is the same for adults and kids one price
A playing area is available inside as well
Some F&B places but nothing great
Team is friendly
And you can bring food for the animals with you like carrots, lettuce and cucumbers
To enjoy it most you should bring plenty of vegetables with you so you get to feed all the animals and enjoy
Kids love it and so do the adults

Hardly any animals. I was there yesterday. The animals that were there look tired/sleepy/sick… who knows. They don’t interact with the customers. $5 is the entry charge and for everything inside is a separate $5. To interact with farm animals- $5. Pony riding - $5. Hold snake- $5.
A bit small but is interesting, and very nice visit, no need for prior reservation just come in a weekday and tell them you want to visit the museum and they will let u in.

Surprisingly nice place for a family stroll. Quite a few animals with ease of view. Not sure about their welfare though, a bit small space for a bear
It’s an old place, taken care of by older people. If you appreciate art and architecture then it is worth the visit. You really have to have an open mind to visit. Don’t expect much, and you will enjoy the experience.
It's a MUST visit for sure! 3 floors and really organized.

Really one of the best mineral museums in the world, I would put this place in my top 3. Having some really rare pieces as well as one of the biggest collections of gems and stones as well as fossil’s but you know it’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality and I would say this place has top tier quality pieces on showcase.

The things I recommend seeing when going there is firstly the radioactive part where they show how they glow in ultraviolet light as well in this room see the amber that comes from lebanon but the room is on the right side in a secluded room when you go in the mineral section of the museum.

Then the second thing i recommend seeing is the rare earth materials which is just when you come in the mineral room which shows different diamonds, gold formations and platinum.

The third thing I recommend is the meteorite that at the end of the mineral room that explains that there was a meteorite found in lebanon in the 1920s that’s now in USA (you’ll get more information when you go).

But in conclusion this is one of the best museums in lebanon and you cannot miss it if you’re a tourist.
I really liked the atmosphere and the architecture, the paintings were creative and the museum offers free admission for visitors.
A really good museum for the ones who love geology or simply like to see the beauties of nature. A pretty and varied collection of minerals, stones, crystals and fossils from diverse sites in the world. I went with the hop on hop off touristic bus, the entry was included in the process of the city sightseeing. I spent approximately 40 minutes at the museum, but I would recommend a little more time, if you want to appreciate with patience all of the collection. All ages can enjoy the visit. The gift shop is great. I bought a beautiful bracelet there for a friend.
The National Museum of Beirut, located in Lebanon, stands as a cultural treasure showcasing the country's rich history. Established in 1937, it underwent extensive renovations after the Lebanese Civil War. The museum boasts an extensive collection of artifacts spanning prehistoric, Phoenician, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods. Exhibits include ancient sculptures, mosaics, ceramics, and the renowned Phoenician Gold. As a symbol of resilience, the museum serves to preserve Lebanon's cultural heritage, offering visitors a captivating journey through time.
It's organized and affordable for Arab visitors, and the staff there were very polite. It was an excellent visit

So we arrive in the last 30 minutes, they make us pay full price. all the attractions are closed and employees were rude. salah thought was really nice he helped a lot.

not recommended

we also got attacked by wild dogs on the way back to the entrance.
Very impressed with the quantity and quality of the museum , they where able to protect all those historical pieces after many wars.

The place is full of a variety of animals. The toilets were clean but the tables outside where people should sit at were not clean.
And what I didn’t like is that the animals are separated from their babies :/

Absolutely amazing museum where you can be inspired! I was in love to visit it and going to come back again. And buy something in their shop. Really one of the most beautiful museum I’ve ever been.
Everyone in Beirut must visit it! And doesn’t matter if you have a lot of money if not. Tickets are super affordable for everyone, I’m surprised they have a ticket for 10000 lbp. Less than the bottle of water!!!
The National Museum of Beirut is a captivating cultural treasure. It houses an extensive collection of Phoenician artifacts, providing an immersive journey through ancient history. The exhibits are well-curated, showcasing intricate pottery, sculptures, and jewelry, each piece a testament to Phoenician craftsmanship. The museum's architecture is awe-inspiring, complementing the historical significance of its contents. A visit here is a delightful blend of heritage and artistry, and it's a must for history enthusiasts. The National Museum of Beirut truly brings the Phoenician era to life.
Very historically rich place, I definitely learnt a lot about the history of Lebanon here. The Roman Empire’s influence as well. I also got to see lots of cool things like mummies, ancient paintings, artifacts etc.
Really enjoyed this museum!! My 15 year old son is a huge history nut & he had a great time. This museum shows the incredible history of Lebanon & the Middle East!

An excellent place displaying one of the most interesting collections of minerals from many countries. The description is clear and concise and the place is meticulously clean.
There’s a souvenir shop to purchase interesting gifts and there’s a coffee house just outside the museum but in the same building.

Had the best time at Animal City today, staff spoke very good English and the facilities were good. But nothing shines more than how happy the animals are. You can see that they love the keepers and come to the fence when they see them. You can feed them and have personal encounters with them. I had a snuggle with the Hyena pup Spike who was just adorable. The park is clean and the enclosures look natural and park of the Lebanese landscape. My little animal loving heart was born as so happy here. RECOMMEND TO ANY FOREIGN TOURIST, so worth the trip.
Terrible. The mummified animals aren't at all well taken care of, the smell is bad, and there is dust all over the place, no wonder why the museum was half empty. A terrible place to bring kids and a not very enjoyable experience for adults. The museum was okay back in the day but now it's just an overpriced warehouse full of dead animals and no catalogue or brochure, with bad guides.
An old historical museum, but it is a pity that no one is taking care of it. The Statues look very dirty and are being left with no maintenance. Such history needs to be very well taken care of. The entrance fee is$ 5 per adult. It's ok but should be less, because there is not much to see.

Best Zoo in lebanon due to the wide variety of animals. The zoo is very spacious and not crowded. Fair entrance fees and extra charges for direct engagement with the animals. A must visit specially with kids.
Very beautiful building, design is amazing
Maybe 10$ is a little too expensive for this, But it is good overall.
Brand new nondescript giant block of concrete, the only reason to go inside is to escape the heat and hide in the shade for a bit, there are no cafes nearby and the mosque is free. Friendly staff and free tunics provided

Children would enjoy seeing several animals in this place. The location is very beautiful between the mountains and the river. Even we enjoyed the way to reach there. It needs some maintenance but overall it's good.
We weren't able to take photos with the bears because it wasn't available at the time we arrived.

Needs more care and investment to enhance the appearance of mannequins. They don't appear quite realistic now. I think it's quite expensive for just 20 minutes to pay 5 dollars per person. I would not recommend it as a must but as an optional place to visit. Kids didn't like it that much

Amazing and unique museum in lebanon. I recommend everyone to visit it, it’s very enriching and informative and the rocks and stones on display are some of the prettiest i have ever seen. The ticket is still very cheap (10,000) for now and you can easily spend a couple of hours there. Taking pictures is okay. And the souvenir shop has some nice things !

Loved the place.. created so many great memories for my kids.. the layout is a bit tricky, but overall is an amazing experience..

The variety of animals is great, you got birds, lions, tigers, and even bears..

There are shops inside for snacks and gifts.

And also there is purchasable mini experiences within that would provide amazing memories for your loved ones.

What was most enjoyable for me is the surrounding greens and river.. unbelievably beautiful

Value for money is just mind boggling good
The Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque also referred to as the Blue Mosque, is a Sunni Muslim mosque located in downtown Beirut, Lebanon.
The Mohammad Al-Amin mosque is the biggest mosque in Lebanon.
Soon after the Lebanon Civil War, very little was left. Following a donation by late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, the foundation stone for the Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque was laid in November 2002. The design is evocative of the Ottomans’ monumental architecture: with a built area covering approximately 11,000 square meters, a 48-meter-high blue dome and 65-meter-high minarets (placed on the corners of the mosque), the mosque has become a dominant feature of the Beirut City Center skyline. It was inaugurated in 2008. The Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque contains multiple domes. All of the domes of the mosque are made from light blue tiles. The mosque also has multiple arches, which are couple stories high. The mosque has very similar characteristics to the Sultan Ahmed Mosque.
2008: Inauguration of the mosque.
2020: The mosque suffers severe damage in the 2020 Beirut explosions.
It is nice to see such kind of places in Lebanon, it is not always that you find them there. The presentation is nice, it is well done, what to expect?

Well, you will see wax statues of some famous people, like van Gogh, umm kulthum, Clinton … and after you are done, there is a coffee shop outside, where you can relax a little bit.
You will not be able to visit this museum. "Entry is forbidden" due to covid. Which is fine but they definitely should have put that on the website.

Small museum located on the Deir al Qamar square. Entrance fee at the time of visit was 50k lbp. The museum is located within the old Fakhredine Palace currently owned by the friendly Mr. Samir Baz. It has a collection of more than 50 wax figures of prominent people in the history of Lebanon. A guide explained the history of each one of them and the history of the palace.

The best museum I've ever visited in Lebanon.

You will see all kinds of minerals, crystals, gemstones and even fossils.
It is a private collection of Mr. Salim Edde from around the world and some from our beloved Lebanon as well.

I don't have the exact count of minerals but I'm sure it's well over 2000.
Each one unique in size, shape, colour and origin.
And if you're lucky enough to have the guided tour (with Mr Salim himself) each has its own story and its challenges to get it all the way to Mim museum.

Also, it's really easy to get there, the entrance fee is 10 000 LBP (which is absolutely nothing for a museum of that calibre), free entrance for studends and kids (who should definitely visit as well)

The decor is simply on point, it looks like those museums you see in movies and each room has a certain lighting to it to put more value on the items on display.

I'm sure kids and students will enjoy the tour as much, if not more, than adults.
The geometrical shapes of those stones, the million of years in formation and the way they get formed in the end makes you in awe of nature and science.

Holograms, interactive touch screens and cool displays will also help you learn more about each mineral and a lot more on chemistry and the elements of nature in action.

I have shared some of the pictures I took inside but they don't do the collection any justice.

Make sure to visit!

Nice museum. Easy entry with no queues. A bit too expensive given the small size of the museum. 100k lebanese lira entry fee. Same price for Lebanese and foreign nationals. The unexpected advantage was the incredible views from the balconies! Stunning scenery and perfect spots for photos!

If you have been to Madame Tussaud’s museum then you won’t like this one, but the view in the balcony is hilarious anyway
Nice experience but a bit overpriced considering that there was no guide and the tour did not take more than 30 minutes. The museum also looks nice from outside for a few pictures and they have a few concave/convex mirrors which can be fun to look at but doesn't make the place that much more interesting.

‏It is a huge mosque with beautiful blue domes. It is placed in the middle of beirut downtown situated very close to the Sea. If you want to enter inside You have to cover up... Abayah are provided at the door and shoes must be removed abayah for ladies and if men are wearing short pants they also must wear a robe. The attendants says salamou alaykom with big welcome , they give dates and they helps you to come in
The peaceful atmosphere and the greatness of the
place attract your soul to feel free and to relax

Enjoy your visit and have a good time and don’t forget to ask Allah to have mercy for whom build it

The location is beautiful in the heart of Deir el Qamar with great view and amazing ambiance.
The museum is inside an old traditionnal Lebanese building , a very beautiful one
About the museum the entrance fee is 15000L.L.
The museum is very crowded and bad organized.
The statues are placed near each other without a clear classification according to a certain subject. In one small location you can find tens of statues which doesn't give each item it's proper value in my opinion.
Overall the place is beautiful but needs some organization

Beautiful place with great views and can be visited on the way to Jeita Grotto
But I think the museum needs more variety and Characters... I suggest that an audio recording should be made in several languages showing the profile of each character It can be operated manually helps visitors who do not know about some of the characters displayed there .
Historical building housing interesting and educational showcase of material. The museum provides guided tours for schools.
The OLDEST museum in the region. Go enjoy a walk in AUB's beautiful campus then pop into a very well-designed, clean, informative, and well organised museum capturing and describing artifacts of multiple periods in human history.
The biggest mosque in beirut and lebanon and one of the biggest in the region. It is known for its size and blue top and because it was built by the prior assasinated prime minister (rafic hariri) who never saw it completed. It is located in ome of the beirut martyrs square's corners and is open to the public almost all day (access is limited to people wanting to pray during friday prayers time). It is a good landmark in beirut that is a must visit to tourists. Also notice the nearby maronite cathedral..the rafic hariri tumb and the roman ruines..all.surrounding the mosque.
Mohamad al Amin Mosque is the biggest mosque of Beirut. It is georgeous and breathetaking. Inside of the mosque is so peaceful. You can drink water for free inside. And toilets and ablution facilities are very clean. In front of the mosque there ara some ruins from Rome Empire time. Right next to the mosque there is a huge church as well. The whole ares is very beautiful and I advice everyone to visit
archaeological museum of AUB is an interesting place to visit with your family. very informative.
museum entrance is free of charge, and free audio guide is available
The AUB Archaeological Museum, founded in 1868, is the third oldest museum in the Near East, after Cairo and Constantinople. It is a regional Museum with collections from 7 countries Lebanon, Syria, Cyprus, Egypt, Palestine, Iraq, and Iran. The Museum was renovated in 1999 and reopened to the public in 2006
So symmetrical!! Also very accessible, you can basically just walk in, no hassle at all. (As long as you're dressed appropriately. If you're not you'll have to don the wizard robe.)
This museum is admittedly dwarfed by the National Museum but if it was in any other city around the world it would be a prized possession. The artifacts and sculptures are displayed chronologically. The amount of glass were and ceramic were in good condition is amazing. Very good descriptions and collection. One is not overwhelmed. Be sure and visit the Geological dusplays at the adjacent Department of Geology. Both museums are free of charge. Located on the verdant grounds of the historic American University of Beirut.
Amazing place
Very nice archeological museum, with over four different rooms each room containing see through protection glass and each glass represents a certain era in the period of humanity dating from the first found plates all the way to stone age tools and ceramic items.
All giving an aesthetically pleasing feels knowing that American University of Beirut has one of the best archaeological museums internationally, proving as a pride to the Lebanese and their dedication.
More over there exists a geological museum on the top floors containing very rare sitings of all the different geostones one can find in very rare locales.

The museum is in a very nice building. Very French inspired architecture. The characters looked very believable and also moved, talked and some sang. They definitely looked more real than wax
Peaceful place stuff very friendly and the museum is well designed
Very old but authentic and rich place with fossils.needs renovation.
Beautiful yellow exterior on this mosque. Once in Beirut for sure a visit is a good idea despite the fact that inside of the mosque is not as brilliant as the outsides.

What makes this mosque extra special is that it is located side by side to a church which is very telling of Lebanon.
I found this museum surprisingly amazing!! It’s a shame it doesn’t get much of the spotlight and visits as it should be.
The national museum has three levels, showcasing the civilizations that made and ruled over Lebanon from the Phoenicians era till date, very rich and informative, the Location is easy to locate, you’d be surprised of the amount of history and findings that this museum has. A true gem!
A very nice place to visit, you will be lucky to meet samir baz the owner of the palace. He provided us with a private guided tour.
